"A relic of Mordor." Galadriel confirmed. "When Angmar fell, the men of the North took his body and all his possessions, and sealed him within the High Fells of Rhuduar. In a tomb so dark that it would never come to light."
"But that is not possible!" Elrond insisted as he leaned on the table, pointing at the blade that Gandalf had set in the middle of it. "A powerful spell lies on those tombs, they cannot be opened!"
"We have no proof that this weapon came from Angmar's grave." Saruman scoffed.

"It likely came from the same place as they did." Elrond concluded, his tone grave as he and Galadriel exchanged a glance. The Lady of Lorien left where she stood at the table to wander towards the balcony. Saruman had gone off on another tangent and the wizard's ramblings didn't hold her attention for long. Something else, however, had caught her attention.
"They are leaving." she said to Gandalf in his mind. She didn't seem all that surprised, either.

Gandalf walked over to her and thought "I didn't think the others would let them...I thought it best they took their leave on their own..." Bane stood up, sniffing slightly. "Serena..." She nodded and they left quietly, grabbing their things as they left. Bane looked at her and said "how do we even begin to explain this...." Serena shook her head and said "we can't...but I can't let them go alone...we are all bond by fate now..."

Galadriel simply gave him a knowing smile and nodded. At that point, Lindir passed Bane and Serena, not realising where they were headed, looking rather flustered.
"My Lord Elrond, the dwarves, they've gone!!"

"Master Baggins, I suggest you keep up!" Thorin called sharply over his shoulder as the hobbit lagged behind the rest of the group. Stepping slightly aside, he let Balin go ahead of them. "Balin, you know these paths, lead on."

Bilbo fought to keep up but suddenly arms wrapped around him and Bane smiled at him. "I thought we would find you this way..." Serena was right behind and she called "master Balin! Take a left at the next fork! It will take you past the night watch and past the main gates!" Bilbo smiled and said "you two are coming?" Bane smirked and said "if you'll have us. Lady Serena believes fate brought us together for a reason...we know better then to fight fate"

Serena smirked as she ran saying "just let us know if you need us to slow down for you, master Thorin. We wouldn't want to leave you behind" bane carried Bilbo to the front of the group, Bilbo looking a little surprised that Thorin said yes.

Thorin couldn't help but roll his eyes slightly. He wasn't sure if he trusted these two yet, but they had helped the group already so it obviously wouldn't do them any harm to have them come along with them.

As they got further up the mountain it began to rain really heavily, and the thunder rumbled loudly. The dwarves didn't realise that half of the roaring wasn't thunder, but stone giants!

Serena pulled a cloak over Bane and the hoods up on the dwarfs near her. "Stay close to the cliff side! And watch your footing!" Bane was watching Bilbo carefully.

The dwarves tried to do as Serena said, but it was difficult with so many of them together on such a small ledge. Twice Ori slipped and nearly fell down, the second time nearly knocking Bilbo over with him, but luckily Dwalin managed to catch the young dwarf and steady him.

Bilbo lost his footing but Bane grabbed him, holding him tightly. "Careful there Bilbo! It's slippery up here!" Serena moved up the Thorin and said "we can't stay up here, this is more then a storm..." She wiped rain out of her face and

Thorin turned his head to look at Serena and nodded. "We must find shelter!" he hollered back to the others.
"LOOKOUT!" came a shout from one of the dwarves behind as a large chunk of rock smashed into the side of the mountain just above the company's heads.
"Well bless me!" exclaimed Bofur in shock. "The legends are true! Giants, Stone Giants!"

Bane cursed and grabbed Kili and Bilbo and pushed them against the cliff side, shielding them. "Serena! We need cover!" Serena pulled Thorin from th edge and said "can you watch my back? I won't be able to while I do this!" She pulled her staff free and closed her eyes, muttering softly. Shadows jumped out and covered the group, throwing rocks away from them before they hit. Serena held her hand up,focusing on the task at hand

The Giants roared and more rocks fell from above, some aiming right for Serena and Thorin. Bilbo looked over and yelled "Thorin above you!" Serena was focused, sweat running down her face as she pushed the rocks away from the company.

"Get back!" Thorin shouted to Serena, pushing the mage back before the rocks could hit her. "We have to find a cave!" he shouted to the others. "There must be one nearby!"

Serena hit the wall, blinking hard as she came back. She nodded and looked around and pointed. "There Thorin! A few yards down the path!" She pulled Balin closer to her, flinching. Her wound was aching and she knew it needed attention.

"Go, go!" Thorin snapped, shoving the dwarves nearest to him in that direction, using his back to shield Fili from another debris shower. The group collapsed, breathless, in the mouth of the cave.
"Dwalin, Gloin, search to the back." Thorin gasped, they seemed the least hurt or shaken up by the experience. "Caves in the mountains are seldom unoccupied." Looking around at the rest of the company he asked. "Is everyone alright?"

Bane was the last to come in, helping Bilbo and Fili get inside. Bane coughed and said "I think everyone is here..." Serena was panting as she leaned against the wall, her hand on her wound. "Thank goodness...we are alright..."
