In an alternate universe, during the early eighteenth century, the Golden Age of Piracy is at its apex. In the Caribbean, the former British island of New Providence was under the control of history's most notorious pirates, until the British Navy threatened them of extinction. During this war, however, a mysterious plague arrives, turning the entire region into a war zone, both land and sea. No one is safe while the undead rages, and no one will ever understand of how it began. Fate leads young lowly sailor, William Turner (Orlando Bloom), to join a group of survivors, all from different social classes, who are hardcore-trained in martial arts and weaponry. As he learns to fight, while falling in love with a beautiful, eccentric pirate (Odette Annable), he and the team must put aside their personal differences, and take a stand on the blood-soaked battlefield to save their country.
