I'm not really a fan of writing introduction since I get really awkward when writing about myself but decided to make one anyways and say, greetings. I've been roleplaying for as long as I can remember and I'd like to think that I'm a pretty good writer. I like roleplays that are either original (my taste is pretty eclectic) or from various fandoms. That's pretty vague but in all honesty, I like almost anything.

I hope to start roleplaying soon.

Nothing in particular so long as it has an action or adventure element to it! I was hoping on starting off either with a 1x1 or a small-group roleplay so I don't fall behind.

You should probably start by making an interest check for yourself in 1x1 then. Just a word to the wise (I also hang out in 1x1 from time to time) - you should only accept invites to Roleplays that are EXTREMELY interested in as you'll get several invites and will become overwhelmed by them sooner or later.

It's a mistake I make all the time.

I'll also likely be starting small group Roleplays in the future, but most are slice of life, so I don't think they'll interest you. Best of luck with your hunt!
