Appearance: Fiona stands at nearly 5'10", with an obvious strength to her bearing, honed first from long hours learning a physical trade, and then from long hours of training and exercise. Her hair stands out the most, with its vibrant shade of red, and its lack of any organization at all, falling down to the middle of her back. It's one of the many things that obviously define her lack of nobility.

She dresses comfortably for travel, work, and combat, mostly in leathers and linens, her preferred color for the latter being red. The leather is clearly well-worn and broken in, and fitted quite well both for her jacket and her trousers. Her few armor pieces are mismatched and clearly scavenged or bought pieces of iron plate, but the few that she has appear to be well-maintained. Her backpack is one large, simple sack. In all, Fiona appears to be barely holding together, but somehow, still quite attractive, in that wild, unrefined way.

Equipment: Fiona carries two weapons on her, the most obvious being a steel greatsword that she carries across her back. It's clearly seen a lot of use, but she keeps it in good shape. Her other combat weapon is a dagger she keeps sheathed on her thigh. She has a blacksmith's hammer in her pack that could also be used as a weapon, but she has next to no experience fighting with it.

For armor, she doesn't have much, just a few pieces of worn steel plating, mostly on her right arm, which is well-protected enough to intercept lighter attacks if need be, though it wouldn't be her first choice of defense.

Miscellanea: In her pack she carries her bedroll, a blanket, some dried meats and fruits for rations, her hammer and other smithing tools, an extra jacket, and several changes of clothes.

Highly Proficient
Two-Handed: She's not well trained in the art, but Fiona's a natural with a large sword all the same, and physically she matches the weapon quite well. Strength, speed, ferocity, relentlessness... she's a terror on the offensive.

Moderately Proficient
Smithing: Her father was a much better smith than her, but Fiona managed to pick up much of his repertoire. She's good at repairing and maintaining equipment, and she can forge low-level weapons and armor if she has the materials. Sadly, she lacks those at the moment.

Light Armor: She's not bad at working with limited protection, and knows pretty well what attacks she can block, what she needs to dodge, and what she simply needs to brace for, and endure.

Somewhat Proficient
Athletics: Moving slow can mean death for a fighter that doesn't wear much armor, so Fiona has honed her body to be both swift and strong. She's in excellent shape. That said, her inefficient style of fighting is very taxing, physically, meaning it's still in her interest to resolve fights sooner rather than later.

Fighting Style: Fiona's no follower of the Imperial style of heavy armor, small weapons, and defensive combat. She doesn't have the resources to fight like that, or the temperament. Instead she relies on her aggression and natural talent in melee combat, overpowering opponents with strength, speed, and tenacity. Her swift swings of her two-handed sword are incredibly difficult to block outright, and she's quick to augment her attack with physical strikes from her fists, knees, feet, elbows, her head if need be. She has no reservations in a fight. It isn't graceful or pretty to watch, but it works for her.

She struggles against speed that outmatches her own, as when her swings are dodged entirely, Fiona's left vulnerable from the longer recovery time and her lack of proper armor. Typically she'll attempt to grapple swift enemies rather than immediately strike with her sword, to counter this. At range she has to rely on cover and speed, as she has no projectiles at her disposal, and little to defend herself from arrows.

She excels the most against large and slow enemies or creatures, able to inflict heavy damage with her sword, while dodging counter-attacks. Opponents that try to focus on defense often have a tough time against her as well, as a swing from her sword can stagger most opponents that try to take it head on, and her attack is relentless, never letting up once she seizes an advantage.

Crime Committed: Destruction of property during the course of a tavern brawl. Fiona received a cracked rib and bruised jaw during the fight, but you should see the other guys.

Character Background: Fiona's parents, Matel and Setia Haylius, came from Cyrodiil originally, Bruma specifically, but relocated to the village of White Haven in High Rock after a local lord named Velnette sought out her father's services as a blacksmith. His work was highly sought after, and the opportunity proved the greatest. By the time Fiona was born, her parents had established themselves as respected members of the White Haven community. She had a peaceful upbringing as an only child, and a promising future once she was apprenticed to her father.

Lord Velnette supplied all of his forces with arms and armor provided by Fiona's father, but once that was done, the work began to dry up. It was a peaceful region, and well protected now that the garrison there was well equipped, and so Fiona's family saw their income reduced, and worked small jobs on horseshoes, tools, and the like. They were not poor, but neither were they very wealthy.

Fiona was barely 13 when war came to the south, and High Rock began to divide itself as to what to do. When Matel's family, his brothers and sisters, sent word that they were joining the fight against the Dominion, he felt compelled to go with them, despite the pleas of his wife and daughter. Still loyal to the Empire, Fiona's father joined a volunteer company and departed for Cyrodiil, to lend his services to the war effort. Fiona took over the majority of the blacksmithing duties. Much of the work her family received vanished, with clients unwilling to entrust their coin to a young girl's craftsmanship.

Her father was supposed to be a non-combatant, but that hardly mattered when Dominion forces overran their encampment one night. All were slaughtered, and eventually word of her father's death reached Fiona, who was now 15. Her mother's response was to fall into a near catatonic depression, but Fiona harnessed anger instead, at the elves that killed her father, and at the inaction of High Rock, who hid in their homes and refused to help. She trained a rudimentary style, and strengthened her body in preparation for the day in which she would be able to fight, to avenge her father.

As she grew older, she began to stir up support for the Imperial cause in her village. Lord Velnette was disinterested in offering any support to a war that was far from him, and viewed the growing dissent with unease. When Fiona was 19, putting off joining a volunteer company in favor of trying to rouse people into revolt, Velnette took action, and had his men burn down Fiona's smithy and home in the night, while Fiona was away. Believing the smoke and fire would scare out anyone inside, the men were surprised to learn that Fiona's mother had suffocated inside, unwilling to leave.

Naturally, Fiona flew into a rage when she found out, but rather than make a futile attempt at vengeance that would leave her dead as well, she gathered what things she could, including one of her father's swords, and left White Haven behind. She spent the next few years wandering High Rock as an adventurer and sellsword, choosing jobs selectively, with little concern for making much wealth. There were things she wanted to do: see Velnette dead, make an impact on the fight against the Dominion, make something more of herself, but she didn't know how to do any of these things.

One night while she was particularly drunk in a tavern in Meir Thorvale, Fiona responded violently to repeated insults thrown at her after she was recognized. The ensuing fight left part of the tavern destroyed, and Fiona thrown into prison, with a cracked rib, bruised jaw, and very bloody knuckles.

Personality: Fiona's not exactly subtle. She's blunt, honest, and typically says what's on her mind. It gets her into trouble sometimes. She fears nothing, really, but she does her best to avoid being reckless when it isn't called for. At heart, she's a very good person, with almost no selfish motivations, apart from a desire for revenge. There's a bit of subconscious racism in there when it comes to elves, specifically Altmer, but it isn't overbearing. She seeks to do what is best for people. She wants to help, always, and if that means putting herself at risk, it rarely factors into the decision.

She has a sort of battered optimism, the bright-eyed outlook on the world instilled by her father somewhat dimmed after his death, her mother's death, and years of struggling to make it on her own in a country with rampant problems. She sees bad things, but most of the time uses them as motivation to do good things. That said, in the past few years Fiona has become more quick to anger, and she doesn't mix well with strong drink. Overall she's a bit restless, not sure what she's making of herself, but trying passionately to do her best in the world, and to do right by her father.

Appearance: Reference 1 and Reference 2. A few differences to note in her equipment described below, but the overall physical appearance and tattered look of her gear remains the same.

Equipment: Still inexperienced as an adventurer and wandering sellsword, Fiona's armor is mostly just what she could scavenge. Currently, she has a bit of a half-plate style going on, with her right arm and right leg mostly protected, while the left side is largely exposed. Notably, the only protection her torso has is a fairly thin leather jacket. Her boots are sturdy, worn leather, up to knee height, and she wears close-fit leather pants underneath her leg armor. Her left hand, her sword hand, is wrapped in a cloth glove to just above the wrist.

Her blade is a curved sword, single-edged (as seen in Reference 2). It can be wielded with one or both hands, though Fiona defaults to a one-handed style, so she can better intercept attacks with her armored side. The pommel is spiked to give her another offensive option, with a pair of scarlet ribbons attach to the ring. The blade is nothing special, but it is well made and sturdy. For a sidearm, she has a small combat knife strapped to her left thigh.

Apart from her weapons and armor, Fiona carries a small supply of vials with basic healing potions. They heal quickly over time, and can save her from even serious wounds, but in the heat of battle their healing speed can be largely irrelevant, not to mention she has to give up her move to consume one, leaving herself open to a hit. Most likely if she is to use a potion, it will be after a fight is won, to prepare for the next fight.

Combat Strengths Fiona has a strong aggressive offense, with ferocious attacks backed up by her formidable strength. Physically she's very impressive, and while her blade isn't quite heavy enough to bash aside all defenses, she doesn't hesitate to work physical blows into her attack, utilizing raw punches, kicks, knees, even headbutts in her assault. She has good speed as well, not being heavily weighed down by armor, and this can help her dodge and counterattack. Fiona fights with a fiery passion, and a stubbornness that makes her a difficult opponent to dissuade.

Combat Weaknesses: Her half-plate style relies on suppressing her opponent with offense, forcing them to block, and then absorbing or dodging retaliation with her strong side. Swift enemies can dodge her entirely, and strike her flank before she can recover. Passionate and stubborn though she is, she'll take heavy damage when struck on her vulnerable side, and she doesn't have the years of a seasoned veteran to call upon in terms of endurance, only her willpower. Lastly, her passion and temper make her vulnerable to taunts, and being goaded into reckless action, especially after she has been hit or wounded.

Personality: Fairly serious and kind-hearted, Fiona is both adventurous and good, and willing to put herself at risk for the sake of others. She has a fiery temper and isn't soft with her words, especially towards her enemies.

Brief History: A simple farmer's daughter, Fiona bravely traded a monotonous life for one of an adventurer, after receiving some training from an old, exiled knight. She seeks to do good in the world, and improve her skills, but the necessity of coin means she has to take jobs where she can find them, and oftentimes the jobs available to untested adventurers are not as glamorous as she would like.

Appearance: Calariel is of average height, with a slim, lithe build. Her most notable facial feature is her eyes, which are a milky pink color. Her face is youthful and feminine, her long hair a shade of auburn that runs to the middle of her back.

Equipment: Elvish bow and full quiver, dagger, elvish mail and leather armor, small brown cloak, a small tent, backpack, tinder box, week's rations, blanket, bandage x3, lock pick.

Background: Calariel was born in Rivendell, and from her birth she's been forced to deal with a rather unique and mysterious defect with her eyes. They've always had their milky pink color, and while she isn't blind, her sight is severely reduced up close, rendering everything near her extremely blurry, impossible to make out. Conversely, her farsight is even greater than most elves. Calariel can see things at a distance with excellent clarity and focus. If it's within her line of sight, no distance is too great for her to see.

Her poor sight negatively impacted her social development while growing up, and as a result Calariel is very quiet and shy, or at least uncertain of her communication skills. She grew to love the wilderness around Rivendell and came to serve as a scout and outrider, where her long-distance observation could be of use. Over time, she came to rely on other senses up close, specifically her hearing and smell. They don't make up for her poor sight, but they at least enable her to function. And her skill in archery is among the best of the elves.

Some of her elders think Calariel is just young and brash, but she still hopes to make a difference in the world, rather than recede from it, as the elves seem to be doing.

Appearance

Physical Appearance: Elise looks very much the princess, but not yet the queen, to put it shortly. She stands at 5'8" and has a lovely figure, but her features are somewhat girlish, making it quite impossible for her to appear imposing or threatening. Not that she tries. Her hair is a light blonde, wavy and full, and she keeps it just past shoulder length, typically wearing it free and loose. Her eyes are a soft, light blue, her skin fair and not quite light enough to be described as pale. Though she's feminine in her appearance in just about every way, she does have strength, a soft layer of muscling just beneath the surface. Clearly not enough to be physically overpowering, but she can hold her own, and her athleticism is quite apparent.

Her Clothing/Armor: Elise has not trained in full armor, and so as of the RP's start, she wears only modest protection, relying on enchantments to protect her from harm. She wears a cropped vest top of sturdy white leather over her silver undershirt. Her jacket is fur-lined leather and also cropped at around the base of her ribs. Her arms are well protected and her preferred method of intercepting attacks if she has to, with light, flexible, sturdy plates of finely crafted steel, including pauldrons and forearm guards and bracers. Over her hands she wears leather gloves.

On her lower body, she wears white leather, close-fit trousers, with knee-high leather traveling boots plated along the front. Around her hips is a sword belt, the sheathe on her right side, as Elise is left handed. Her neck holds an amulet engraved with the symbol of her family, and to those with the ability to detect it, it rather obviously emanates magic.

Combat/Magic
Enchantments: Elise's amulet has a powerful warding enchantment upon it, which serves to redirect blows thrown at her, in close combat, ranged combat, basic magic, anything. It has limited strength, and can be worn down to ineffectiveness with enough use in a short period, but it allows her to forgo superior armor without sacrificing protection. Usually. Certain powerful magic can render it instantly nullified, but Elise has never had cause to encounter such magic. Her pauldrons and armguards have light enchantments upon them, to decrease their weight, as well as offer her minor boosts to strength and the swiftness of her strikes.

Magic: Elise has no ability to cast spells, but her bloodline is imbued with a power that had long gone dormant.

Combat: Elise's training far outmatches her experience, something she hasn't fully come to terms with. She's a skilled duelist with her sword, and has great potential, but hasn't fought much at all outside of practice sessions. Theoretically, her skill, quickness, grace, footwork, and swordplay should be enough to make her effective in battle, especially combined with the protection her enchantments offer.

In practice, she has a great deal left to learn. Real fights are not duels of honor, but bloody, desperate affairs, and Elise hasn't gone through a great deal of adversity as a warrior. She'll tire too quickly against multiple opponents, and she isn't at all used to being wounded. A few damaging hits will likely bring her down.

Personality
Elise is unerringly brave and courageous, and compassionate in equal measure. Her outlook on the world is often brighter than those around her, and indeed, she views the Kingdom of Vale as a more noble place than it likely is. Due to the peaceful upbringing she had, the only child and beloved daughter of the King and Queen of Vale, Elise struggled with little early in life, which enabled her to often do as she pleased, seeing much of her small Kingdom, and becoming well-loved by the people. Her home of Vale has no laws requiring males to inherit rulership, meaning that once her father passes, Elise would become Queen, and rule with whomever she chose to marry. Thus, her father has poured resources into her, to ensure her success.

She's very empathetic, often able to identify and feel what others are feeling, and in general feels very strongly about things. It's difficult to convince her to budge on a sticking point. She's confident in her morals, decision-making, and the belief that she's a good person, and slightly less so in her abilities. She acknowledges that she has potential, but sometimes struggles with her confidence in her ability to lead, or to fight, etc. Nevertheless, she is resolved to do her best, and hope that it can help.

Physical Appearance: Ember is of average height, with a lithe and athletic build, and an appearance that is both youthful and feminine. Her skin is fair and slightly pale, largely concealed under her clothing save for a few places. Her hair is a dark shade of auburn, reaching the middle of her back in length, though it's almost always kept in a braid. Her eyes are a light green, almost emerald color, striking in comparison to the typically dark palette of colors she wears.


Armor/Clothing: Ember's demon huntress attire is extremely light and flexible, trading significant protection for ease of movement. Her top is covered by a sleeveless, thin cloth tunic, with a single layer of padding that can somewhat soften physical blows to her torso area, but won't do too much against slashing or piercing attacks. Her leading shoulder is protected by a layered pauldron, and her soft leather arm-sleeves are covered by hardened leather guards on her forearms, and thin metal plates over her hands. She commonly wears a cloth mask or scarf over her face during combat.

Her sword's sheath is strapped to her back, as is her special crossbow. The belt around her waist carries the pouches for her throwing knives and her healing serums. Her tunic flows into a skirt of varying lengths. The front of the skirt is cut short, above mid-thigh level, while the back is asymmetrically cut as it winds around her legs. Slits up the skirt at several points ensure freedom of movement. On her legs she wears warm stockings under thigh-high laced leather boots, with some plating over her knees and feet. All of her gear is darkly colored, in sharp contrast to her fair skin and auburn hair.

Weapons/Tools: Ember's sword is straight, double-edged, and both lightweight and sturdy. It has no special or magical properties, but she puts it to very effective use, with either one or both hands. If one hand, it will be her left, as Ember is left-handed. Her throwing knives are a secondary weapon for her, contained in a pouch on her hip with handles exposed for easy access. These are also mundane in all ways, but can still be deadly, and often are given her accuracy with them.

Also contained in this pouch is her supply of healing serum, contained in small injectors that she can apply either to her leg or upper arm. Once in her bloodstream, the serum will rapidly increase her healing rate, enabling her to recover from even serious wounds in minutes. Given the speed of combat, however, minutes can be quite some time, making the increased healing rate hardly a guarantee of survival. Fortunately, the serum also dulls pain somewhat, enabling Ember to better endure the wounds she's suffered, or withstand further hits after taking the injection. Taking a second injection while under the effects of the first will do nothing to help her.

Her crossbow is a small, one-handed model, an advanced weapon that can fire three types of bolts. The first is a standard, heavy bolt, capable of piercing light armor and dealing significant damage. The second two types are smaller bolts, attached to the sides of the crossbow. Types can be rotated through on the fly in a fight. The smaller bolts both have explosive properties, triggered a second after they strike a target. The first explodes with an acidic liquid and gas. The liquid will cause intense burning pain to exposed flesh, while the gas will cause any within it to struggle to breathe, assuming they lack a proper mask to filter it. The gas covers a small area and disperses somewhat quickly, but it can effectively keep an opponent stunned for a turn or two. The last type of bolt explodes with significantly more force, capable of removing limbs or outright bursting smaller enemies, however it travels through the air noticeably slower, and Ember mostly uses it to damage heavy armor beyond repair, and expose weaknesses for her other weapons. It can, for example, mangle a heavy shield to the point of being useless.

When fully loaded, her crossbow can carry one of each type of bolt at a time. Considering that it's rather tricky to reload, she can likely only use one of each kind of bolt during a fight, unless she is somehow given enough time and space to safely reload.

Combat Strengths: Ember is really fast, has demonstrated excellent proficiency with her chosen weaponry even as young as she is, and on top of that, she's entirely fearless. At range, she almost never misses her target, so it's up to her enemies to do something to protect themselves. She can successfully fight multiple enemies at once with proper use of her crossbow, keeping one or two at bay so she doesn't get overwhelmed while she divides and conquers. Her explosive bolt can crack tough defenses, and her swiftness enables her to get in quickly for damage, and then dart away and keep moving to avoid taking it in return. Despite her lack of armor, she's pretty tough and very stubborn, and when combined with the dulled pain and healing properties of her serum, she's not easy at all to bring down.

Combat Weaknesses: Limited resources are Ember's greatest worry in fights, which usually means her decision making can lead her into the most trouble. Improper use of her specialized bolts can leave her dealing with too many enemies, or unable to break through tough armor, since reloading to fire again is difficult and puts her at risk. Despite her toughness, her lack of armor is a significant vulnerability, and her ability to directly block attacks is limited. Naturally, restraining her mobility in any way can easily lead to serious damage against her. Her serum can heal her if things get bad, but this happens over time. Relentless pressure can easily keep Ember in the wounded state she's trying to recover from, and make things very difficult for her.

Personality/History: Ember is the daughter of the grandmaster of her demon hunter's guild, and thus, she has always had a lot to live up to. She was encouraged to follow in her father's footsteps, and seemed to take to it naturally, but was forced to combat constant rumor of her privileged upbringing, her easy path to success with the position her father holds. Despite any amount of skill she shows, Ember has been regarded always as "the grandmaster's daughter" rather than a huntress in her own right.

As a result, she is almost recklessly aggressive in her desire to prove herself, to silence the doubters that think her position was handed to her. She is well aware of her exceptional potential and talent, but has avoided becoming arrogant, and takes her enemies and her work very seriously. In addition, she believes in it as more than a way of making coin in the world. She finds purpose in helping those that can't protect themselves, and in taking on threats that others are unwilling to face. Her next task will be an immense test for her, one that will prove her worthy of her place as a demon huntress, if she survives it.

Written Description: Ember's build is not overly imposing, but the fact that she's roughly in her physical prime is plain to see. She has a lithe, sleek shape, somewhat lacking in raw bulk, her musculature instead being compact and lean. Her appearance is ultimately very feminine. Her auburn hair reaches the small of her back when left loose, but she almost always wears it in a braid, keeping it away from her pale, light green eyes.

What skin she shows is fair and slightly pale, largely unmarred by scars or other markings, evidence that her combat experience largely consists of training, with few real life-or-death situations of battle under her belt. Her demeanor could most commonly be described as intense, almost aching for movement. There's an aggressiveness and a confidence to the way she carries herself, and though her mask often hides her full features, her eyes tell most of the story.

Weapons
Shortsword - Bladed weapon, double edged, 60 cm (just under 2 ft). Expertly forged, both lightweight and sturdy. Effectively wielded with one hand. A balanced weapon with short reach, a small round crossguard and a comfortable grip. Sheathed across her back when not drawn.

Throwing Daggers - Bladed weapons, double edged, 4 in total, kept in a pouch attached to her belt and upper leg with handles exposed for easy access. Most effective thrown across short distances, but useful enough in melee in a pinch. Ineffective against most armor, requires hitting vulnerable points.

Handguards - Steel handguards serve as metal knuckles to enhance punching attacks. Nothing remarkable, as Ember's punches aren't the most impressive, but they increase the chance of breaking bones on well placed strikes.

Armor

• Lowest layer of Ember's top is lightly padded. Will somewhat reduce damage from punches/kicks or other non slashing/piercing attacks.
• Her arms are covered by long leather gloves under hardened leather forearm guards, and steel handguards, along with her single pauldron.
• Thigh-high leather boots, with plating protecting knees and feet.
• Her mask will reduce the effects of inhalation from smoke or other gases.

In total, Ember has very little effective armor, and requires her to dodge attacks or deflect them with her weapon rather than absorb them.

Other
Stimulant Injector - A small injector containing a liquid stimulant that aids Ember in combat, applied to either her upper arm or leg. Kept in a small pouch beside her knives. Significantly slows bleeding and dulls pain for 3 of Ember's turns. Can be used once per fight.

Senses & Attributes: All of Ember's senses are within a human range, but she has gone through significant training to hone them, specifically sight and hearing. All others are quite attuned, though naturally her sense of smell is dampened by the wearing of her mask.

All of her physical attributes are well above average for a human woman of her age, but still fall within human boundaries. Specifically things like her speed, dexterity, agility, conditioning, balance, and reaction times are excellent. Her strength and endurance are her least notable attributes, and thus her fighting style doesn't revolve around them.

Fighting Skill/Style: Ember's style consists of constant movement, skilled swordplay, and capitalizing on overextensions from her enemy. She looks to place herself in good positions to evade and counter enemy attacks, punishing whiffs with superior speed, and targeting weak points with precision, to make up for a lack of overwhelming force. She retreats back after most of her attacks, never seeking to remain in range of heavier melee opponents for long. In the case of ranged attackers, her attack is relentless, and her movements take her around flanks of her enemies after attacks rather than away from them.

She is very capable of parrying and countering most forms of light weaponry similar to her own, and seeks to deflect attacks and return with offense of her own rather than block them outright. She targets weak points with her throwing knives at close range to increase the difficulty of dodging or blocking, and seeks to avoid exchanging blows hand-to-hand or grappling as much as she can, as she is in a disadvantage most often in those situations.

Ember utilizes her combat stimulant in the event that she is wounded. It allows her to ignore painful injuries and continue fighting for a while as normally, but does not allow her to push beyond the limits of human endurance, and it only increases her pain tolerance so far.
