The child's reaction was certainly not what Nasir had in mind. Not that he ran a dozen scenarios within, and this was not one of the outcomes, but it was still surprising. "W-Well, that wasn't my intention, and... I'm not entirely sure I'm fit to teach anyone how to be a Trainer, but... I could try...?" Placing two fingers to his forehead, the black-haired man let out a slight sigh.

"If I am to assist you for a while, you should know my name; I am Nasir. It's a pleasure."

Itzal grinned up at Nasir, "It's nice to meet you. My name is Itzal Albescu Fuji." He told Nasir politely. "I've always wanted to be a trainer but I wasn't allowed to."

"O-Oh..." Confusion washed over the man's features, as Itzal's explanation did little to actually explain the situation. Not that it was his fault, of course. "...I'm sorry to hear that. It's possible they did not wish to see you hurt."

Averting his gaze he let out a sigh, "My friend, Devon... his mother did not allow him to truly become a Trainer, either. Not for the longest time, apparently. Despite having his own Pokémon, and even a few Gym badges from when he lived with his father... still, she would not allow him to travel far, and go on a proper journey."

Itzal suddenly became quiet and a little sorrowful looking at the mention of parents.

"I... Wonder what that's like, to have parents..." He whispered, looking down at the ground and nibbling his lip. He looked like he might start to cry.

A hand clenched his own arm, as the black-haired man's eyes began to well up. "If... it's any consolation, my experiences with them have been less than desirable." A quick glance to Itzal, and Nasir was aware that the child was in fact upset. "...You have my most sincere apologies."

Standing from his chair, he looked down at his map. "So those men who demanded I hand you over. Are you on the run?"

"Well... They work for Uncle Lysandre." He started. "Uncle Lysandre is probably looking for me cause I ran away because I didn't want to do any of those test anymore..."

Blinking, Nasir's head tilted, "Lysandre...? Of... Lysandre Labs?" Putting a hand to his forehead, he let out a sigh. "...Well then. I'm... quite sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, my travels will likely put me within his reach. That said, if you do not wish to undergo testing anymore, you should stay away from him. Perhaps we can find... somewhere. I'm sure whomever was after you will be back with reinforcements."

"Wait... Why would your travels allow for Uncle Lysandre to find you?" Itzal asked, looking confused to why anyone would want to get involved with Lysandre. "But... I can't let you go by yourself if you're traveling in danger... I'm going with you." He said with determination.
