He awoke in a sweat, remnants of his nightmare still going through his head. Three days ago he had awoken in a shuttle a few miles from town, on Persephone. It definitely wasn't a core world, but he could, at least stand to be here. At least it wasn't some backwater.

He looked in the mirror, not recognizing his face, remembering the day of his first memory.

He had woken to the sound of someone beating on the shuttle's door. He stood up and opened the door, only to have a gun shoved in his face. "I'd hate to be you." the man said, "See, we're taking your shuttle, which we can't do if there are any survivors." The amnesiac saw the man start to pull the trigger, but instinctively drew his sword and cut the man's had off. The severed hand and gun fell just inside the door, and his friends started firing. The man in the shuttle picked up the gun and fired at them, one-shot killing the three people outside.

He splashed some water in his face and turned off the faucet. The motel he was staying in was the kind of place where you would expect to see illegal deals happening, but it was cheap and they didn't ask any questions, including his name, which he wouldn't have been able to supply them. He would have to get a fake Ident card if he was going to deal with people, so he headed to the local bar, the best place he knew of to make contact with the kind of people that could get him one.
