Weapon of choice: Macuahuitl; it is said to represent her father. As obsidian is often linked with her father it is fitting that her weapon has it as well; although she frequently must repair or replace the blades.
Abilities:-Smoke creation; Often called Smoking Mirror, it is fitting that Tezcatlipoca’s children are able to create smoke as well.

Nagual; In the Aztec culture a nagual was someone who was able to transform into an animal. As a child of Tezcatlipoca she can transform into a jaguar
-Shadow manipulation; As a child of a god of the night figure, the shadows act as a form of protection. Able to blend into the shadows perfectly, manipulating them like a cocoon, this technique works the best at night.
Bio: Yayauhqui, often called Yaya by her mother and friends was born in Mexico while her mother Grace Matthews (nee Garcia) was working on a dig site that brought few artifacts such as pots and beads from what was to be a farmer’s field. Her mother Grace was a Mexican-American archaeologist who loved the Aztec culture. While on her assignment Grace met a strange man who came from the middle of nowhere, the only places around was a small village five miles north but Grace had lived there for a few years before and she knew everyone. Over time Grace and the strange man one legged, who called himself by the Nahautl name “Yaotl”, began a small relationship that resulted in the pregnancy of Grace’s first child. Yaotl began to act strangely as Grace was sent on another assignment a day’s drive from the farmer’s field where offerings to the god Tezcatlipoca had been unearthed. Shortly after the find Yaotl told Grace a startling truth: he was
Tezcatlipoca. Of course immediately after that Grace called him insane and told him to never see her or their child. Grace stayed in Mexico City, working alongside a small scale museum to clean artifacts since being in the field was getting too hazardous and not to mention hard on a pregnant woman. Months later she received a small package with a letter attached from “Yaotl”, a present and letter for his unborn child; earrings. It was in Mexico City where her daughter was born. Grace had fallen in love with the Nahautl (now-watt) language spoken by the Aztecs and had chosen a name from the language, Yayauhqui which meant “Black Smoking Mirror”—fitting for a supposed child of Tezcatlipoca.
They moved to the United States when Yaya was almost eight years old. By the time Yaya was ten her mother was married and she had a new little brother named John. Yaya frequently complained to her mother about a recurring dream in which a man with one skeletal leg, black and yellow face paint and a large smoking orb of obsidian sitting on his head, would visit her and speak a language that sounded familiar to her.

Shapeshifting: Jan is able to change his appearance to that of a fox and to a more human-friendly form although it greatly exhausts him to do so.
-Kitsunetsuki: The art of possession, he needs to be in contact with the person he wishes to possess. It takes effort to push him out of one’s mind.

Hoshi no tama: An onion shaped ball that is often associated with Kitsune and the possessed, it houses some of his natural, yet weak magic, as well as a small portion of his soul.
Bio: Born in Berlin to a simple office worker and his wife, Jan’s mother was around up until he was a year old then she left suddenly. Jan has very few memories of her aside from the floral perfume she often wore. His father cared for him greatly after the sudden departure of his wife. Often Jan would ask about how his parents had met and countless times his father told him the story. They met a little after midnight when his father was on his way from working so late. His mother, Rin, had been stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire and no gas. His father, Ivan, had pulled over to help her. Finding out that they had a lot in common, the two started off slowly as their relationship bloomed and Ivan asked for her hand in marriage. There had been no fancy wedding, as Rin never wanted the fuss. Shortly after their marriage she had become pregnant. Ivan worked longer hours to make more money to support themselves and their child.
There are very few pictures of his camera shy mother; he values those few above the rest.
Jan’s father never remarried, since there had been an investigation on the disappearance of his wife to rule out foul play not many women wanted to marry the man. However his father did date frequently and after time he stayed with one woman named Amber. She was from the United States but had been living between Germany and England, going back and forth every six months. Amber had three kids of her own from a previous marriage who were around Jan’s age. Only a few years ago Amber had a set of twin girls, giving Jan and her three sons, sisters.
Jan would frequently have vivid dreams of a floating onion shaped ball and the smell of floral perfume would linger in his room hours after waking up. To his amazement one day his eye color began to change to gold although only Jan could see the difference.
