It is 299th year of the Revolutionary Calendar and the glorious Holy Empire of Mars is about to celebrate the 300th anniversary of it's founding.
However all is not well. Those living on
Nearly three centuries ago the arrogant oligarchies and democracies of the world drove the cradle of human life into oblivion. The hollow nations of Mother Earth, over populated with degenerate masses, consumed until there was nothing left and then turned on one another with hungry eyes. They fought until the skies went grey, the seas turned black, and the soil itself blanched deathly browns.
Only when they struggled to see the sun through the clouds of ash and catch air in their throats did they realize their folly. The Earth was dying and with the damage they had wrought it was believed they had only twenty years before the planet became completely uninhabitable.
In a moment of clarify the broken nations united and formed Umhlaba, an organization dedicated to colonizing space and safe guarding humanity. Leading the organization was a young scientist named Athelstan Zaref
Unable to make Lagrange Space Colonies sustainable, they instead turned their eyes to making the surrounding planets, Mars, Luna, and Venus livable. With the most brilliant surviving minds at their disposable and a desperate determination, they made countless discoveries and advances, eventually gaining the means to terraform another world.
However the joy of their discovery was dampened by the hard choice left before them. They had neither the time nor resources to terraform all the planets. Only one could be turned into a paradise. The others would have habitats built around them with the remaining resources.
The leader of the organization decided to terraform Mars and the great effort went into effect. They worked long and hard, losing many and suffering many setbacks. However in the end they succeeded and just as fresh air, clean water, and green grass graced the face of Mars did everything fall apart.
All order collapsed and the nations of the world vanished in fire and lead. People took to the streets in a panic and soldiers shed their false hides of honor, becoming ravenous bandits looking only to survive.
The Organization had everything ready. The ships were fueled and all preparations were made. All they needed were the people. However the 'great' world leaders and many men of self importance would not be arriving and armed fiends were on the fast approach. All seemed lost until **** took charge once more and ordered the ships to be filled with anyone and everyone they could find.
Security forces beat back bandits and brigands as innocent people were pulled off the streets in droves, funneled into the ships with maddening pace. After hours of bloodshed and desperate uncertainty the ships were filled and amidst gunfire and explosions the ships left the ground and soared into the heavens abandoning the bloodthirsty brigands below.
Mars Luna Venus The Earth
During the later years of the 20th Century our mother Earth was catastrophically damaged in a shallow war for power. The environment was mutilated by weapons of unspeakable destruction leaving just twenty years before the planet became uninhabitable. Faced with their own destruction the surviving super powers formed an organization dedicated to colonizing space.
The organization even with countless resources and the best surviving minds the battered world had to offer, was faced with formidable challenges. Establishing ungrounded space colonies at Lagrange points was quickly ruled out due to sustainability issues leading to the focus on terraforming and colonizing the nearby planets Mars, Venus, and Luna (the moon).
Despite the odds they succeeded in developing the technology and techniques necessary to terraform a planet into a mirror image of Earth. However they were faced with a choice. They only had enough resources, enough time to terraform one planet. Habitats would have to be built on and around the other planets with what they had left.
Mars was chosen and was successfully terraformed with clean air, fledgling oceans, and an ecosystem just springing to life.
Then everything fell apart. Order on Earth collapsed and the peaceful and orderly evacuation plans they had went up in smoke. Bravely defending the ships the ORGANIZATION (need something better here) loaded as many people as they could, snatching them off the streets as armies turned greedy bandits moved to take the ships for themselves. Packed full with hundreds of thousands of people the ships launched unharmed thanks to noble sacrifices, leaving countless people behind.
The ships made the long trip to Mars and eventually landed.
The survivors, embittered and disillusioned with the trappings and workings of their modern world, turned their back on the democracies and fascist governments that lead the world to it's destruction. Instead they turned their eyes back to older, more noble beginnings.
Since all the 'important' men of government and killing were left behind on Earth, the only man of importance left was the leader of (The organization) (Name here).
They decided to form a monarchy and atop Olympus Mons the first Emperor of the Martian Empire was crowned.
Venus. A virtual twin of Earth with a solid surface and similar gravity.
Hellishly hot with an inhospitable atmosphere of acids and toxins, floating habitats stay high in Venus's atmosphere providing home for the
The people of venus, those chosen by the First Emperor Himself
Their education is short lived and poor, their oppurtunities few, and their future as bleak as the surface of their 'home'.
The happiness and joy felt at such a bright, new beginning was cut short as they were already faced with a tire problem. Mars while beautiful and alive with life, was fragile, and with the burgeoning amount of people they had brought they faced the risk of rendering it uninhabitable. In order to ensure the sanctity of their new home people would have to be sent away, to work and live on the habitats build beneath Luna and around Venus.
With a somber face and kingly duty, the First Emperor chose who would stay on Mars and who would be sent away.
Wealth, power, fame, honors, titles, praise, love, respect, or simply peace of mind. It is human nature to desire. To covet. To fight and bleed to fulfill our wants and needs however necessary or fickle they may seem to be.
In ages past an individual could gain whatever they desired with enough skill and determination. Strength of body, mind, and spirit could spit in the face of expectations and allow for the impossible to be done as if the limitations of this world were but paper.
However in this modern age it grows harder to believe that such things were ever possible. Individuals become lost in the endless seas of people that grow with every passing year. Groups bulge at the seams with influence as their numbers seemingly rend the meaning and efforts of a single person moot.
Even those with strength, with courage, and passion, are denied what they desire as if out of spite by this hollow world...
But what if I told you there was a way to achieve whatever you wanted? Anything you wanted?
And all you need to do...is fight for it.
A 'tournament' is being held far off in the sea, on an island that is part natural, part artificial. To the naked eye it seems like a normal island, urbanized in areas, wild and untamed in others. A nice place to vacation but nothing more.
The naked eye is a fickle thing however as this island is home to Omnia. A clandestine group said to stretch across the globe with fingers in every government and every field. They are everywhere to the point of seeming nowhere.
Omnia is responsible for countless deaths, countless breakthroughs, and possess wealth and power beyond description. However their mysterious workings leave them under the control of an individual and her loyal followers.
This women has offered a challenge. Anyone who can get to her and beat her, will become the leader of Omnia and have enough power and wealth to achieve whatever they could possibly desire whether through conventional means or Omnia's forbidden technology.
There are no rules to this 'tournament'. No referees, no specific arenas, and no rules beyond a basic two "
Why am I telling you this?
Because I want you. I need you. I want to see you beg, see you bleed, see you fight and maybe
