Lol, yeah, they're not amazingly original. Been able to work out that they'll be bots pretty much without fail so far. Several of these names have been recycled, actually. I'm guessing they have a stockpile of names and they just pick them and a string of numbers at random.

No problem. This quickly seems to be becoming "my job", when I have nothing better to do anyway.

On another note, this is the first one that I'm not certain whether they're a bot or just a spammer. I'd say spammer, personally, but they could be a bot too. Either way, I don't give a shit about Grand Theft Auto.

Pretty much the vibe I got too, and yeah I won't be touching the link either way. Even if they are using the spam forum, they're clearly not here for what the site is meant for (RP, community, etc) and are just trying to plug that link, regardless of whether it's a legit link or virus bait.

If someone is manually controlling their activity, it would make sense, but if they're running automatically it doesn't particularly make sense for them to just take a break like that.

I mean given that bots are made using script (obviously) they can make them not work during the weekend. It's not hard to do. If you can make a bot, you can make it do that very easily.

Yeah, I just don't see a practical reason to have them not do anything for a few days if you don't need to manage them, since that's a few extra days that could've been used scamming people and it's not like the programmer had to actually do anything during those days, unless they actually need to do something after the bots manage to scam someone.

But what if they need to make the accounts manually first? Though that's probably not the case. But in OSRS and stuff, for bots you need to do things manually. But they also ip-ban you, so botters have to be on the alert as well. Basically, they could have to make the accounts to spambot with them, even if the idea is unlikely.
