They both seemed to be stammering over their own words. Just getting herself to ask was a difficult thing to do but when she looked up at him with those big innocent green eyes of hers, he seemed to look away. Was he being shy? Or did he want to tell her no and didn’t know how because she was too forward, to herself, to… too Lily about the whole situation. Her stomach turned waiting for an answer. Maybe she should jump up and say ‘just kidding’ as loud as she could to distract him from the fact that she came across as a total weirdo.

Then he spoke. He finally spoke which relieved a lot of her tension. However when he began to trip over his own words she gave him a tender smile. “I’d really like the company. And the company of a new friend.” She said with a nod as her name was called out the intercom. Half of her wanted to forfeit the match but the other half knew better than to do that. They would be fighting as competition and friends not as enemies which makes this all the more interesting. “Alright, I’ll see you out there.” She ended the conversation with a bright smile and a wave before she went to gather her pokemon.

“Welcome back folks! This is one of the two semifinal matches. This Lilianna Vanderbelt from Lavander City versus Desmond Ludwik straight out of Pallet Town!” The crowd cheered on as the two took their places at the high raise overlooking the battle field. It was a simple field but interesting none the less.

Lily stood across the field from her friend, a smile on her face because, for her, this was something more than just the tournament, this was about the Pokedex and if she failed to beat him… would he give her another chance. Her three pokemon of choice sat in their balls in front of her and taking a deep breathe, she grabbed her first one. “I Choose you! Ponyta.”

“Tttaaaa!” The Ponyta jumped from her ball landing elegantly on the battlefield, her flaming tail flicking back and forth. She held herself much like her master did; with an elegance and poise. Her head held high as she waited for her opponent to arrive.

"Y-Yeah. For sure!" Desmond replied, as she left to get ready for their match. He went to check on his Pokemon with Nurse Joy, who had brought back all of his Pokemon. Looking down at the four Pokeballs as they were returned to him, he hesitantly gave one back. Jigglypuff's. "She did a lot of fighting. Can you please tend to her during my next match? Make sure she's okay?" He asked, and the Nurse nodded, knowing how much the Pokemon had gone through. With a satisfied "Thank you", he turned and began making his way towards the battlefield.

He had a match to win, after all. That money... It'd be really helpful, to say the least. He could afford to eat like a normal human being, rather than some... Thing that barely managed a meal a day! It'd be something to truly celebrate.

~~

Desmond had to admit he was uncertain of if he would win or not, but knowing it truly didn't matter helped me do his best. Staring at Lily with a determined expression, he was taken by surprise as she released her Ponyta. "A fire type! Smart way to keep Ivysaur from entering the battle, Lily!" He complimented, seeing a bit of tactics in this battle already. But, sadly for her, he had a small advantage in this situation. Detaching one from the only three (Compared to the noticeable four he usually had) pokeballs from his belt, he held it out with a strait expression, marking his seriousness.

"Diglett, let's start things off with a lesson!"

Appearing on the field, the small Diglett gave the Ponyta a friendly glance, rocking side to side. A small cry escaped the Pokemon, expressing that it was pleased to be fighting first. Though it didn't last long against Charmleon, Lily would have saw just how much of a little trickster this Pokemon was. And it'd use similar tactics here.

"A ground type, while not the cleanest solution to fire, is a good alternative to water!" Desmond explained, intelligence shining through. Of course, for all he really knew, he was being lured into some sort of trap by choosing this matchup. But, for now, he'd use the type advantage as much as possible to come out on top. Four legs were a lot more to trip than two, meaning Diglett's foolhardy nature just might come in handy if he could trip up her Ponyta.

Of course, he wasn't afraid of her Ponyta. He was threatened by her newly evolved Haunter, for the most part. He had no experience fighting evolved ghost types... It'd be a learning experience for him, as well as her. "Are you ready?" Desmond questioned loudly, seeming to be ready to go. Or at least trying to act like it, with one of his stronger contenders back at the Pokemon Center.

It was funny listening to him talk. It was light she was getting taught and despite their closeness in age; he knew a lot more about Pokémon than she did. Her hands rested against the poles as she listened to him, practically hanging on his every word. Maybe for some onlookers this wasn’t new information but for her it was something she needed to know. Even if there were things he had said that she knew before hand, she had every intention on soaking up information she was willing to share. Even if they were in a battle.

“Tsk Tsk,” Lily said wagging a finger. “You may have a Diglett again a fire type but against a horse Pokémon she can keep your little guy above ground with a move. But first, lowering its defense would be a wise move. And if you’re ready I’m ready…”

With that the announcer yelled go and Lily opened her mouth first, “Ponyta use Tail!” The fire horse’s tail began to flick back and forth in an intense almost hypnotic fashion lowering Diglett’s defense.

Raising his eyebrow, Desmond wasn't certain what she was talking about; What move did her Ponyta know, anyways? Could he not have known something so vital...? Or was this a trick? "Hmph. We'll see if you can follow through with your words!" Desmond retorted, as the battle began.

Diglett followed the tail; eyes blinking a few times, before the Pokemon shivered. It's mildly fearful state causing it's defenses to be lowered. Bobbing up and down, however, the Diglett still seemed ready to go.

"Sorry, Lily! But Diglett doesn't just have to be underground to be effective!" Desmond shouted, hand thrusting forward with his palm outward, grinning as he retorted with his own first command: "Diglett! Knock that Ponyta down with your Magnitude Attack!"

As Desmond gave the command, Diglett began shaking violently.

"Magnitude is a ground-shaking move! While it's sometimes not very damaging, it'll be sure to give Ponyta a hard time when it comes to standing!" As the area began to shake, Desmond's eyes momentarily closed, as he smiled. "This feels like it's only a Rank 6 Magnitude! But don't let my words fool you; Even if it isn't Rank 10, it's still pretty good!"

Suddenly, a rather large shift of the earth happened in replace of the small amount of shaking from before; Marking a Rank 6 Magnitude that attempted to throw Ponyta off her hooves. A few people in the crowd nearly fell due to the attack, but everything remained okay.

“However with Diglett’s defense down they are more susceptible to attacks.” Lily called to him as he yelled out his attack for Diglett. She watched below as her Ponyta struggled to stay at her feet, wobbling left and right in an attempt to stay up. Her mind itched as she tried to piece together what to do. If her Ponyta wasn’t on stable ground this could be problems even with four feet instead of two.

Suddenly she snapped her fingers. “Ponyta, use Stomp to regain control of the ground. When you raise Ponytas not only do they go through show training but battle training as well. She may not seem like it but she’s really strong.”

“NNNAAAHHHH!” The Ponyta found a moment to balance and threw herself up. Slamming her hooves hard against the ground her stomp spread outwards and crashed against the oncoming shakes from his Diglett’s attacks. Causing the floor to re-balance.

“Alright way to go Ponyta!” She called out, possibly getting more excited than she should have considering that she hadn’t laid an injury on the little creature and her Ponyta did look a bit shaken up.

"I see." Desmond muttered, noting the pure strength of her Ponyta was exceptional; She was good at raising Pokemon. He didn't let this distract him, however, as he continued processing everything with his wit, attempting to find a solution. If Magnitude wasn't going to work; Well, he'd have to get a little more offensive with Diglett's speed. "Diglett, move in on that Ponyta!"

Quickly progressing toward's Lily's Ponyta, Diglett popped in and out of the ground, appearing in slightly different places, making it extremely difficult to target from any range, being similar to a wack-a-mole that drank twelve cups of expresso.

"Launch one of your Mud Slap attacks!" Desmond commanded, loudly. The best way for this little speedster to handle her Ponyta was to get an advantage and avoid getting hit; Temporary blindness was an ideal tactic.

As the Diglett went underground, it popped up again and slung a ball of mud towards Ponyta; Aiming for the eyes, though it wasn't a super accurate Pokemon; Desmond hoped the fact Ponyta was shaken would make up the difference.

Unfortunately, her Ponyta was shaken up enough that the mud made direct contact with the horses eyes and she nanned disapprovingly, rearing upwards and kicking back down. “Oh no!” Lily cried out hearing her Ponyta’s expression of discomfort. Reaching down her fingers glided along her horse’s pokeball ready to pull the Pokémon back and admit defeat with her.

“Wait…” She said to herself as her hand stopped for the ball. “Ponyta use FireSpin… on yourself!” She cried out, “Keep the air and ground around you hot so you can recover!” The Ponyta responded and reared up again, this time it opened its mouth and shot out a rather large string of fire. The first circled around the horse until it had created one intensely hot pillar surrounding the horse.

“Bring your Diglett in there and he’s bound to be toast. Either that or stomped right back into the ground.” Lily called out as the pony flicked its head back and forth in an attempt to get rid of the mud from its eyes. She wasn’t sure how long the recovery period would take or if Desmond had something up his sleeve for the Diglett to use. This… this was quite interesting indeed.

"Diglett, stop!" Desmond commanded, but he was too late; Diglett had approached too fast, and had gotten lashed by Ponyta's Fire Spin. Recoiling and crying, he hid in the ground for a moment, popping up a short distance away; Injured.

"... Well, then..." Desmond wondered what he could do in this situation; Then it became obvious he only had one move that stood a chance against her Ponyta, and that was only if it couldn't multi task all of these commands. "While it's distracted, Diglett! Use Magnitude again!"

Once again, the ground shook; This time sadly wasn't as violent as the last one, only managing to be a rank 4.

"D-Diglett.." Desmond stuttered, as the ground barely shook; It wasn't enough to knock over her Ponyta at all. This wall wasn't something Diglett could pass without a decent Magnitude... But he couldn't just constantly use the attack or he risked causing an actual Earthquake.

Worried, Desmond waited for Lily's next move.

The Ponyta shook and shook its head doing its best to get its vision back. It did come as a surprise to Lily that the Diglett didn’t pay enough attention and ran into the firewall and the look on her face was that she felt bad for the poor thing after it ran head first into the spinning fire. “Oh!” She said her voice filled with concern as she watched the little thing attempt to give off an attack.

A small sigh left her as she looked over at Desmond, her eyes pleading for him to take the Pokémon back before she had to finish it but… this was a tournament not a friendly battle. Taking in a deep breath she made her final call. “Ponyta use Fire Blast and end this round.” Her voice was filled with sorrow as she said the words but it’s all the name of the game…

The Ponyta breathed in the fire that it had used to create the wall and now, with clear eyes, fired a blast of fire directly at the tired looking Diglett. Maybe lowering its defense was a good choice in order to start the battle. Even that was something Lily was proud of but as the Fire Blast went to make contact with the little Pokémon, Lily closed her eyes and looked away.

"FIRE BLAST?!"

Desmond's eyes widened, quickly the boy scrambled to find his Pokeball; He grabbed it, holding it out before returning Diglett as quickly as possible. But, this meant the Fire Blast had no target, and instead slammed directly into the base of Desmond's platform, shooting flames up and almost into his face. He fell backwards, back hitting the railing as he nearly ended up roasted.

His eyes expressed his fear as he slowly stood up, the momentary silence breaking out into cheers of Lily's victory after everyone saw Desmond was fine. He hadn't thought her Ponyta would know such a devastating attack, and now he hesitated with his two Pokemon left.

Both of which weren't good against fire.

"..."

Desmond stood there for a moment, silent. He looked at the two Pokeballs holding his remaining Pokemon. "I don't want you guys to get hurt." He said softly, holding both Pokeballs close as he shut his eyes. Opening them after a moment, he sat both Pokeballs down, before reaching his hand towards his surrender flag.

Then, Ivysaur's Pokeball opened, launching the stubby grass type onto the field, where it stomped, raring to go.

"I-Ivysaur! You can't go battling a fire type!" Desmond shouted, worried for her safety. His eyes almost watered up as she dismissed his concerns, glaring up at the Ponyta with her usual crude attitude in battle.

"And Desmond sends out Ivysaur! Not a wise decision, considering the typing of his opponent's Pokemon. He must be getting desperate!"

Desmond's face shifted, as he decided to go through with it. If Ivysaur was going to fight, he wasn't going to leave her alone on the field. "Alright then, Ivysaur!" He shouted, back in the game, at least somewhat. "Charge forward and launch a Razor Leaf attack!"

Ivysaur did as she was told; Charging forward with a determined expression as Desmond hoped Lily played into his hand somewhat; But this was looking bad for him. Really bad. Without Jigglypuff, he was in a very tough spot.

From behind her bulb, Ivysaur began launching her attack; The leafs flying through the air quickly towards their target.

“DESMOND!” She screamed over the cheers as she gripped the rails ready to leap over them and cause herself a disqualification for being on the field. When he stood up and had pause she held her breath. Oh he had to be mad at her. Her face crunched into one of sadness. She thought she had made a friend and she almost hurt him… almost killed him! Ooohhhh he was going to hate her after this, and never speak to her again.

Ponyta’s legs wobbled feeling the energy drained from her body from her last attack and the sudden appearance of Ivysaur left them both surprised. The issue of the attack left the blonde haired girl reaching for her pokeball. “Ponyta Return!” The blonde screamed as the beam shot out and captured the withering and shaking Ponyta, returning it to its ball.

A long sigh left the blonde as her head hung. She looked down at the ball and held it to her chest. “Good job my little girl. You did great. But you’re tired and I will not let you fall fainted if I can prevent it.” She gave the ball a gentle kiss in gratitude before putting the ball on the ‘used’ stance.

However the razor leafs, shot with force continued their path taking the next best target they could. “Whoa!” Lily cried at the blades hit the stand she was on. While the stand was sturdy and handled the leaves well, the ones that got caught in the updraft made their way to her. Her arms rose up, covering and protecting her face as they flew towards her. Unlike her stand, her skin and her clothes didn’t handle the impact of the leaves.

By the time the leaves were gone she was covered in cuts, her shirt ripped and her arms covered in scratches. She hissed softly as she lowered her arms from her face and noticed the cuts. “Hey Desmond. I think our pokemon know how to dodge but… we really need to work on that as people.” She shouted to him in hopes to brighten the mood considering the situation. Plus she still wanted to travel together and be friends but she… well she needed to take more things into account when battling.

Her hand reached down bouncing between the two balls in front of her. She didn’t have another pokemon that could go well against the grass type. Her face cringed as she picked a ball and threw it. “Come on Squirtle, let’s do this.”

“Lilianna has chosen her start, Squirtle. Desmond is at an advantage since his starter is on its second form and water isn’t all that effective against Grass, this should be interesting.”

“Squirtle, use tackle!” She called out, only to have her Squirtle reach his arms up into the air and stretch.

“Squirt…” He muttered, stretching and rubbing his eyes. A large yawn left his small face as waved to the crowd, finding much more fun in being cheered by a crowd then paying attention to his trainer.

“Squirtle come on!” She called out. He turned his head to look at her and snuffed her off. “Please Squirtle, I can’t figure out why we don’t get along and you won’t tell me. Come on! This is a battle, you love doing this, the people are cheering for you! Use tackle!”

This time the little water pokemon looked at the crowd, taking in everyone cheering and letting out a satisfied sigh. The blonde beamed, maybe he would listen to her. Instead he leaned back and opened its mouth, letting out a large stream of water as a water gun shot.

"Sh-She returned her Pokemon as well..." Desmond said to himself, watching as Ivysaur's attacks smacked against Lily's stand; And as some of them flew up in her direction. "LILY!" He yelled at the top of his lungs in a panic, before taking the only action he could: "Ivysaur! T-Try blocking some of the leafs with your Vine Whip!" He quickly commanded his Pokemon; Just not quickly enough, sadly.

Ivysaur shot her whips into the air and smacked away a few of the leafs heading towards Lily, but couldn't stop the majority of them. It was somewhat concerned as it retracted it's vines, staring up at the girl, feeling terrible for hitting her. It hadn't been on purpose; hopefully she knew that for the poor Pokemon's sake.

Noticing her cuts, both to her person and her clothing, Desmond instantly wanted to stop and make sure she was fine. He didn't want her to think this was a retort to the fire blast; He didn't want to hurt her at all, he was just trying to get the initiative in the battle. Her joke made his eyes soften from their hard, squinted position; Desmond smiled lightly at the fact she was, in her own way, making it clear she was fine. "That's not funny!" Desmond scolded, but it was a little funny in all honesty; He was just too upset at himself to laugh at it.

How she must've been feeling made Desmond shake; Never had an accident like this happened before; And here he was harming one of the few friends he had; She made a joke, sure... But he figured she was upset with him; After that, who wouldn't be? He had acted too quickly and ended up getting her hurt; At least the Fire Blast hadn't actually hurt him; he just had a bit of an aching back now from hitting the railing. Ivysaur's move could have killed her under the wrong circumstances; He was glad she wasn't injured to the point of needing instant medical attention.

Regardless, she should've stopped and got her cuts taken care of first; Just seeing her like that was distracting him from the battle.

As she sent out Squirtle, Desmond blinked. After what happened, she was wanting to continue. He felt bad; But wasn't going to give up, either. He didn't think she'd want him to. He noted, however, that he had a lot of patching up to do once this was over; Lily was a mess, and he'd help all he could once one of them came out on top.

He was almost thrown off his guard by the way her Squirtle acted; It certainly was a stubborn little thing. It reminded him of his Jigglypuff on occasion, and that made him laugh to himself. Though, the time for jokes was over; The battle was back on, for better or worse; And Desmond planned to see it through.

"Alright, Ivysaur!" Desmond called out to get her attention, and then relayed his commands: "Endure the Water Gun and use Vine Whip!"

Ivysaur narrowed it's eyes as it launched it's vines towards the Squirtle; wincing as it took the water gun to the face, but standing it's ground. The big issue was that Ivysaur couldn't see; So while the vines were aiming straight for Squirtle's center shell to knock him back into Lily's stand, if it moved fast enough this wouldn't work. Thankfully it'd have a harder time dodging with that huge stream of water spewing from it's mouth; So it'd have to stop it's attack to manage to dodge. So they'd be on a fairly even playing field still, due to the low damage of the water against Ivysaur.

It wasn’t anyone’s fault. Lily didn’t blame his pokemon nor did she blame Desmond for the situation that she had just experienced. Despite the fact that she was bleeding a bit, she was grinning from ear to ear. She loved training and battling pokemon. And there was no doubting that the little blonde from Lavender town was different compared to the other trainers.

Squirtle wasn’t paying attention and the impact of the vine whip hit him hard throwing him backwards. The squirtle flew backwards from the impact and rolled along the ground. “Ssssqquirt…” He muttered as he got up to his feet and held his head. Between the impact of the vine whip and the amount of water he just pushed through his system he was looking a bit light headed.

“Squirtle!” Lily shouted from her stand to get his attention. “Get into your shell and use tackle!”

Squirtle looked up at her before shrugging softly. He disappeared into his shell and Lily smiled. Maybe he would actually listen!! Instead his shell shook and a blue aura appeared around the shell before disappearing inside. The pokemon had increased its defense and strengthened itself.

“Okay… Now, for the love of god Squirtle use tackle!” Lily called out and finally, Squirtle’s hell began to spin and launched itself towards Ivysaur causing the blonde to cheer along with the crowd.

Desmond's head tilted at the Squirtle's disobedience; What was it's problem, anyhow? It continued to give Lily a difficult time; But that was good for Desmond, as it made the fight easier for Ivysaur. Sadly an increased defense would hinder his damage; But an evolved Pokemon like Ivysaur could make up the difference as long as she hit properly.

As the Squirtle spun towards Ivysaur, they took action. "Ivysaur! Razor Leaf!" Desmond commanded, and Ivysaur did as she was told; Launching a burst of it's leafs at the Squirtle, only to miss the shell's openings; Instead the leafs just bounced off it's protective shell. This wouldn't work; Squirtle was spinning too fast.

"Dodge it, Ivysaur!" Desmond shouted, as his Ivysaur attempted to jump to the side to avoid being hit; But the Squirtle's shell caught her hind leg, causing her to fall onto her face. She recovered fairly quick however, and turned to attempt to follow the shell. A plan would be nice to have about now; If only she knew what the situation called for.

"Vine Whip won't work on the shell either..." Desmond muttered, contemplating his options. The Squirtle could easily withstand his attacks with that shell; He needed to slow it down so Ivysaur could get in there.

But... How?

Maybe there’s something she’s missing in training her Squirtle. The stubborn little thing was always causing her problems when she would use it in battle. However, much like it’s trainer it hated to lose. Although, unlike it’s trainer, it bought into the screaming and cheering of the crowd.

Lily continued to cheer on her Squirtle, knowing full well it is very protected within its shell and can knock Ivysaur around until it fainted… that was until noise of both his trainer and the people cheering came to the little pokemon’s ears. The shell stopped spinning and his momentum slowed down to almost a stop. Squirtle’s head poked out his shell, grinning as if he was victorious already.

“No Squirtle!” Lily shouted in a panic as she gripped the rails of her stand. “Get back in your shell, use tackle!”

Instead, of course, the little pokemon beamed at the crowd who continued to cheer. Except they were not cheering for him, they were cheering for the advantage that Ivysaur had just received thanks to Squirtle and Lily’s carelessness.

"Seems like it has a bit of an ego." Desmond noted to himself, seeing the Squirtle's personality as good research for his studies. Each Pokemon, much like each human being, were different: Desmond figured that after seeing Lily's Ponyta in action, and her Haunter during one of her matches, that she trained her Pokemon well; This Squirtle was just acting like it's natural self; It wasn't, in Desmond's eyes, her fault at all.

It was, however, an advantage for Desmond. An advantage he'd take in order to get in the lead.

And he knew just what to do.

"Ivysaur! It's time!" Desmond shouted, a plan in mind. He wouldn't risk Squirtle retreating again; At least, not without his technique succeeding first. "Use your Vine Whip and grab Squirtle's legs!"

Obeying, Ivysaur shot out it's vines, planning to wrap them around the legs of her opponent; And if she connected and managed to wrap around Squirtle's legs, she'd retract her vines to trip the Pokemon; Only to drag it towards her, and suspend it up above her in the air, helplessly.

'I need both Ivysaur and Zubat to have a chance against that Haunter...' Desmond thought to himself, anxiously watching.

“Squirtle! Look out!!” Lily screamed at the little pokemon who had completely exposed itself from its shell and was waving happily at the crowd. The little idiot was going to get itself beat because it was under the impression that people were cheering because he was doing a good job, not because he had left himself open for Ivysaur to take advantage of.

The Squirtle let out a little sigh of happiness as he absorbed the feelings of the crowd. That was until he found felt something wrapped around his legs. “Squirt?” He said questioning before he was lifted from the ground and hanging in the air. His attempted to wiggle out of the hold was fruitless and it became more and more aware to the audience as he tried to bite his way out of the hold that the match was over and Ivysaur had won.

A small sigh left Lily as she picked up Squirtle’s ball and returned Squirtle to the ball. “Lily has forfeited with Squirtle. That was the wisest move she could make; if she kept Squirtle out the pokemon would have just continued to struggle and exhaust itself.” The announcer said over the speaker phone. “Now the question is; what is her final pokemon choice? She had an evolution in her last battle, will she use her new Haunter in this final battle?”

Picking up her final ball she gave it a smile. “Give it your all!” With that she threw it….

“JOLT!” Her spikey bright yellow Jolton appeared from the ball slamming its front paws down on the floor with a thud.

“Lily chose Jolton!” The announcer called. “From what we gathered from the interview before the tournament, her Jolton was trained since it was an Eevee and chose the Thunderstone itself. It has been a dedicated and loyal pokemon by her side since she had it as an Eevee and tends to act like a parental figure to her other pokemon. They should work well together, it should be an interesting battle.”

“Jolton! Use spark and paralyze Ivysaur. We can’t afford to let those leafs hit you!”

“Jolt!” The pokemon called out as he lunged forward, sending electric waves directly at Ivysaur.

Satisfied with the result of Ivysaur's grab, Desmond was glad she recalled the Squirtle before he'd hit it with Leech Seed; It had been better for the Pokemon to be recalled than to slowly be drained of it's fighting energy once Ivysaur released it's leech seeds on the trapped Pokemon. Sadly, this meant that Ivysaur hadn't recovered; And while Ivysaur hadn't been hurt that badly, there had still been damage to it's leg. Ivysaur wasn't a fast Pokemon to begin with; And with her sore hindleg, she couldn't evade as easy as she usually could.

Eyeing Lily, Desmond awaited her last Pokemon. He had expected Haunter since the beginning; The ghost type being the biggest threat to his current Pokemon, that he was familiar with, anyhow. His eyes widened in surprise as she released a Jolteon; Having fought one before, he knew it was dangerous, and speedy. Ivysaur would have to rely on her vine whip again, it seemed. Tripping up Pokemon was her best tactic, considering it was ranged and Ivysaur didn't have to be mobile to reach just about any Pokemon.

However, Lily took the initiative and whatever plan Desmond had instantly went into the garbage.

"No!" Desmond growled, hand clenching into a fist as the Jolteon was way too fast for Ivysaur to evade; It's attack connected, causing Ivysaur to be pushed back a bit. Still looking like it was in the battle, Ivysaur attempted to step forward to engage the Jolteon.

... Except she couldn't move.

"And the paralysis!" The announcer shouted, seeming really into the match.

"I-Ivysaur! Try using your Vine Whip to snatch up that Jolteon!" Desmond commanded, unsure if she could even use her vines; And, witnessing the struggle below, Ivysaur couldn't actually extend her vines to attack. She was currently an immobile wall with no methods of attack; And if Desmond assumed right, he'd guess that Jolteon had a ranged electric-type move that'd be able to just shock Ivysaur into submission.

Desmond had been so distracted by the sudden appearance of Jolteon, that he hadn't even noticed that his Pokeballs had been missing off the small counter on the stand; He was panicking now; Ivysaur was toast! And Zubat would get shocked right out of the sky! This was looking terrible; What was he going to do now? "If only I had brought Jiggly-"

Pausing, Desmond's jaw dropped as Ivysaur suddenly was pulled back into her ball, the grass type crying out in confusion and irritation that she was being returned. Desmond looked down and noticed his pokeballs had been snatched. "Wh-What?!" Desmond stuttered, looking around frantically; Until he noticed something at his feet.

Jigglypuff looked up at him with a smile; While holding Ivysaur's Pokeball.

"Jiggly~!" It cried, tossing him the Pokeball.

"And Desmond has returned Ivysaur!" The announcer called, giving Lily her second win. "Both trainers are now down to their last remaining Pokemon; What will Desmond choose to counter a well-trained and dangerous Pokemon like Jolteon?"

Suddenly, the little puff ball took a plunge; It jumped off the stand, to the Jolteon below it was but a round ball in front of the sun; Unable to truly be seen until it landed on the ground, crossing it's stubby arms and staring the Pokemon down.

"Desmond has switched out to Jigglypuff! This Pokemon has taken down a fearsome Jolteon in it's last battle; And it's come back for more!" The announcer was almost unable to be heard as the crowd cheered in excitement.

Desmond simply shook his head, a drop of sweat going down his forehead. "I can't believe that puffball." He sighed, deciding to roll with it. He knew Jigglypuff was still tired from her last match; But if it was eager, he had no choice. Not to mention she literally chose herself, so he legally had to battle with her, or forfeit.

And he wasn't giving up.

Putting up it's tiny arms, the Jigglypuff glared at the Jolteon, seeming to be ready to go. With the huge scene she just made, that Squirtle would be super jealous right now; She had the crowd roaring and all the attention. The only difference was that Jigglypuff didn't take lightly to anyone that endangered Desmond or the rest of their team. She would fight until the point of fainting.

The Paralyzed landed perfectly and Lily jumped for joy. “Alright Jolteon!” She called out with glee. Now the question was, would the paralyze hold. As Jolteon returned to its fighting location he seemed to grip the ground, watching the grass type pokemon closely to see if it actually worked.

While watching the Ivysaur struggle was difficult, Lily couldn’t help but smile victoriously. She was stuck, it worked! Perfect. Taking in a deep breathe, she opened her mouth, ready to call out a final attack to claim victory over the Ivysaur. However the grass pokemon was pulled back and the Jolteon turned his attention to the trainer across from him and planted his tiny feet against the ground, ready for whatever the opposing trainer would throw out.

As soon as the Jigglypuff walked out onto the field, the crowd cheered and Lily gasped. She had seen the little pink ball in action and knew they were in for a challenge. “Jolteon!” She called out, getting the spikey pokemon’s attention. “She’s tough, be careful.” The pokemon nodded before turning back to look at the pink puffy thing.

“The crowd is going wild for this intense rematch between a Jigglypuff and a Jolteon. Desmond’s Jigglypuff put up a fierce battle so this should be quite a battle.” The announcer called out as the buzzer began.

“Jolteon, raise your agility. You’ll need it to avoid her pounds!” The blonde called out.

“Jol!” The Jolteon cried out surrounding itself in an orange/red glow before it disappeared absorbing into its body raising its agility and ability to react. If this was going to be a fight than it was going to be good.
