Akira sat waiting for an answer, though it would be more fair to say Volkran was pulling the strings on this situation. He was rather on the fence on whether he thought this man had the spine and gal to accept the challenge or not. But then, Allura interrupted them and used a rather persuasive tactic to get the person to leave. Volkran growled softly as the man walked away. "Well saying you won't get into trouble isn't the same as saying you're not going to have fun." The demon hid its voice behind Akira's so as to not draw any attention. "Speaking of which, you... ruined mine..." The demon hissed almost unmasking itself to the patrons as Akira's voice almost lapsed over to Volkrans. Akira shook his head roughly before looking to Allura. "Sorry about that, seems he wants to be lively in here. Ah yes the rooms." Akira responds to Allura, as he slides one of the keys over to Allura. "Fancy adjoining rooms, wouldn't know why they'd give me those." Akira said with a chuckle. "I guess though in a town like this they probably get a few of those types coming through here."

Akira took a swig of his drink as he looked around. He had the feeling as though someone was watching them, though he couldn't tell who or where from, the place was too filled out for figuring that out at least. "So..." He pushes the thought to the back of his mind. "We got the rooms for at least two nights. Though I guess there's no real rush to make a move. No one here seems to know who we are which is good. We'll scope out these guilds tomorrow need to get a grasp on who operates out of this town. What do you think?" Akira wanted to make sure that Allura was comfortable with the idea of taking things slow in this town, at present they had no real urgency to get moving or leave given their current anonymous identity to the city. "Could do with finding some paid work." Akira spoke slightly concerned. "Otherwise this taverns prices will bleed me dry in a couple of days. Speaking of which, has their ever been anything you've always wanted to do? Town like this sure to be somewhere you can get yourself into it."

Allura disregarded Volkran for now. He may be upset with her but it was her and Akira that had to pay if things went wrong here, not him necessarily. Shaking those thoughts away for now, the woman accepted the keys from Akira, noting that they had adjoining rooms. She guess that they could come in handy if one of them managed to get into some type of trouble that would require the other's assistance, though it didn't seem as if they would have to worry about that here at the moment.

"I think that's a good idea." The angel said in response to his idea of scoping out the guilds in town and maybe finding some work to do while they were here. The suggestion both excited and scared Allura all at once. She had spent the last century or so in heaven before being sent down to earth to retrieve Akira. In that time, she hadn't had to think about working. That is, until they arrived here. So when he asked her what kind of work she would want to do, Allura blanked.

"Uhh...I'm actually not sure would I would want to do." She responded with a slight frown before taking a swig of her drink. "I haven't given something like this a thought in nearly a cen--in a while." Allura stopped herself from saying her true age, though she doubted that anyone was paying attention to them in the first place. "I guess that I'll have to just see what this town has to offer and then go from there." She ended with a slight shrug before speaking once more.

"What will you do, Akira?" She had no doubt that he would probably do something that involved weapons and/or hunting....maybe even fighting. He was a Shadow Hunter before the situation with Volkran happened, afterall.

Akira gazed around the tavern once again from their table as he took another swig of his brew. He listened to what Allura had to say, though it would seem that finding something she wanted to do as opposed to having to do was going to take some time to figure out. "heh, life of sworn duty huh?... Yeah I remember what that used to feel like." Akira commented as he looked back to Allura with a smile. "Regardless we'll have plenty of time to look around at what the town has to offer tomorrow. If we get up early enough we should be able to get round most of it before the masses show up again. Town like this, it'll only be quiet for so long."

He contemplated Allura's question to him, what would he do? Although, sure, he would like to do something that was active and contained some excitement to it could he really risk it? "I think that might actually take some thought." Akira said as he leaned in towards Allura. "Can't be doing anything that'll draw unwanted attention to us. That's how rumours start, rumours become stories and stories become messages, and then..." Akira clapped his hands together as he leaned back again. He could not really pick and choose just anything he wanted. If he decided to do something active it would likely eventually leave this town and get word to the Shadow Slayers, assuming they didn't already know which direction to head in to find them.

"Then again, perhaps something low-key that pays well." Akira had a rather sly smile on his face. His time adventuring had allowed him to develop a slightly skilled deft hand. Should the need arise there'd certainly be some that didn't have need of every coin they carried. "Bah... I don't know." Akira stated as he leaned back on his chair. "Maybe we should just give it a couple of times and just kick it into gear when we need to? That way we can at least try to enjoy ourselves a little bit." Akira continued to shift his eyes to each side as if looking out for something, though he never caught anything in his line of sight, if he did he certainly wasn't letting onto it.

Allura smiled knowingly as Akira spoke of his plans; it seemed as if he was having a bit of a problem deciding what he wanted to as well. Both of their backgrounds and pasts made it hard to simply pick up a job that they liked but the angel was sure that they would figure it out eventually. "Yeah, that sounds like a plan. The 'perfect job' might come along when we're least expecting it." She added with a small smile before taking a swig of her drink.

The pair sat in silence for a moment, simply enjoying the atmosphere, sounds, and even the smells of their surroundings. Granted, it did smell like alcohol and a tinge of sweat but Allura preferred that than the smell of death and stale labyrinth air any day. After a while though, her stomach began to growl. The last time they had a decent hot meal was when they were back with the old woman and that felt like it had been ages ago. The angel allowed her thoughts to wonder over to the old woman, hoping that the people in her town hadn't turned on her for harboring her and Akira. She was such a sweet yet fiery old lady and Allura wished that she could live the rest of her days peacefully.

Shaking those thoughts away for now, she finished off the rest of her drink before turning to Akira. "Should we go find something to eat before going up to our rooms for the night?" The angel suggested with a slight smile. Surely he had to be hungry too by now; plus she figured that it would be best to explore the town more during the day before trying to go out at night. Allura didn't doubt their capabilities, she just didn't want a repeat of what happened in the previous town. Akira had been attacked in broad daylight, who knew what people were willing to do at night.

"Perfect Job?" Akira asked with a soft chuckle. "Sometimes perfect doesn't always turn out perfectly though huh?" At one point they were both likely perfect for the roles they had been assigned to them. Now though, a demon hunter who had became part demon, and an angel that had been sent to slay him turned rogue. As time went on and the tavern grew more busy the feeling of a watching gaze began to fad from Akira. Perhaps they had just turned the heads of the regulars, being the new faces in town. Though it was rare... Akira shook the empty tankard as he peered inside the cup, that he'd have the opportunity to finish his a drink he had started without coming under verbal or physical attack. For a change it would seem he'd found somewhere that was truly peaceful, though his current life predicaments could not allow him to lower his guard.

The idea of this being as calmed as it appeared seemed like a foreign concept and the only thing that eventually broke Akira's thought was when Allura spoke once again. "Food huh?" Akira contemplated the idea of maybe looking for some place to eat. "You know I'll usually go a few days between meals." Akira seemed confident in his answer those he stomach rose up in strong and loud objection. "Well I guess it couldn't hurt to get a better lay of the town?" Maybe it was because he couldn't usually afford to even think about food without first thinking of which way to run if someone suddenly came after him. Akira shook the negative thoughts from his mind. "If we swing by the guilds area we're likely to find something much more fitting to our current budget, caterers will be looking to make easy coin off the work force. Plus we can see what there is to earn coin." Akira pointed out with a small smile, agreeing that maybe they should look for someplace to eat after all.

As they spoke of moving on it was almost like people had been listening in as patrons seemed to shuffle slowly to the soon to become vacated booth. "Clearly not a location for quiet conversation." Akira stated as he rolled his eyes before returning his gaze towards Allura with a smile. "Then shall we?" He asked as he slid his way out of the chair and side stepped a few patrons, the angry man from before evidently looking to claim the booth once more for himself and his friends. Akira waited for Allura to make her way over before eventually leading the way back out onto the streets. As before this section of town was far quieter than the location of the shops. The traffic of people seemed to only be those going in and out of the tavern before either staggering their way home or departing for some other purpose. "I'm afraid it can't be anything too extravagant on our current coin unless we want to run ourselves out of funds before we've even started." Akira spoke almost frowning at the idea of not being able to treat them both to something that would actually taste better than 'ok'. "With that in mind, anything to avoid?" Was there things that and Angel couldn't eat, a stupid question may be but most creatures regardless of form had to avoid consuming some things. For example no sane demon would drink blessed water or wine, or consume any food that had been prepared as some form of holy ritual.

Allura stifled a giggle as Akira's stomach seemed to betray him at the wrong moment. She then nodded at Akira's suggestion, waiting for him to get up before sliding out of the booth herself. As they left, the angel spotted the unruly man from earlier and proceeded to glare at him before following her companion out of the tavern. When Akira asked her about food that she should avoid, Allura had to really think about his question. Had she been instructed to avoid certain foods, despite the fact that she didn't necessarily need to eat daily to stay healthy? The angel racked her brain, trying to remember if anything like this had been mentioned in her training before she was sent to Earth.

"As long as it hasn't been doused evil spirit energy and sprinkled with death, I think I should be fine." The angel responded with an apologetic smile, knowing that her answer wasn't particularly helpful, but at least they could get whatever they wanted to eat without having to focus too much on her unknown food 'allergies' for the time being. Though Allura figured that Akira had some foods that he needed to avoid, considering the fact that he took the time to ask the question in the first place.

They didn't have to wander around too much longer and managed to stumbled right upon the guild's area, which was surprisingly busy for this time of day. Or at least it seemed busy to Allura, who wouldn't know what a typical day was like since she had never been to a place like this before. What surprised her the most about this place was the fact that it wasn't all contained in one building; instead, there was a collection of buildings that all belonged to the guild concentrated down one particular street. The buildings that lined the street were quite large and elegant, in comparison to the rest of the buildings in this town, at least.

Each building had a pole attached to it with a wooden sign hanging from the pole itself. An image was painted onto each sign, giving people an insight as to what each building specialized in. One sign had a picture of a drumstick, maybe it was a place to get cheap food? Another had a picture of a sword and one even had a picture of piece of paper. Maybe that was the place to accept missions? The strangest sign to her was the one with the picture of an animal being speared by a man. Is that...is that their hunter's guild?

Allura was too busy ogling her surroundings to notice a man rapidly approaching the pair until he ran right into her, nearly knocking her down. "What the--!?" Yelping in surprise, she quickly turned to confront the man who only winked before disappearing into the surrounding crowd. "Why did he...?" The angel trailed off, taking a moment to straighten her clothes, which had been slightly disheveled during that time. Once she had recovered from the random incident, she turned to Akira with a small smile. "I think I spotted a place to get food up there. Shall we?"

"Alright, well lets see what we can do about that." Akira responded with a laugh to Allura's reply to his question. As the pair wondered through the city, and eventually to the guilds area of town it the hustle and bustle of people toing and froing between the different buildings was hardly surprising to Akira. "Ah... the familiar area of the guilds, this section of town likely never sleeps. Always a coin to be made, and a coin to be spent." Akira smiled feeling almost at home in the crowd of people. His eyes dashed from building from building as he looked at the hanging signs "No, no, no, no... no" Akira thought to himself as he tried to visualise if he could tolerate doing such a job. He was so caught up in his daydreaming that he almost completely missed the incident between Allura and someone else, the best description he could give as Allura's yelp snapped him back in to reality. His eye's quickly scanned over the crowd for the assailant but it proved impossible, he had no idea what to look for. "We... should probably head inside then." Akira responded to Allura's question.

As they headed into the eatery the layout was almost similar to a bar, most of the tables were round with 4 to 5 seats accommodating each one. In comparison to the streets this place seemed almost deserted with more empty tables then full ones. Their entry to the building had drawn the gaze of the customers, if for but a moment, before they all returned to their food and conversations. At the back wall of the room they'd entered stood a long counter, with several doorways, lacking any doors on the wall behind it. Beyond those doorways would appear to be the preparation area for food, though not much could be seen through their openings other than large cabinets and long counters. Finding a seat was an easy enough task, most people had gathered to one side of the room. Deciding that privacy was probably for the best, Akira led the way to the side of the building furthest from the door, at a table placed beside a window. He pulls a chair out, before seating himself at a seat opposite it. "So, what was that all about exactly?" Akira asked, clearly referring the commotion outside. However before he could say anything further another voice called out.
"No table service here lad, you come to the counter if your wanting food!" The voice seemed almost distant, it was evident it had come from the prep area.
"I'll be up shortly!" Akira shouted back in response, clearly in no rush to head up. "Lets see, local to the hunters guild. This place is probably their biggest client. If nothing else it probably has the best meat in the whole city. So, what do you fancy?" Akira asked with a smile.
