Yesterday a press conference was held. In it, the US announced that Star Trek was real, and even had Darth Vader there to prove it. He wasn't in a set of medical armor, however, just fancy military dress.
From what little he told us, they came to our world for the first time in the early 1980s, but were shocked to find that we already kind of knew about them. They investigated and found that "George Lucas", a rebel propagandist, had come here years earlier and released entertainment films making the Empire look bad. They had no choice but to deal with the governments of the major nations of this planet until such time as Earth was ready to deal with them without assuming they were evil.
He touched on a few other subjects. The Jedi started a civil war when the Republic stripped them of political power after they attempted to assassinate the Chancellor for his religious beliefs. The Clone wars were actually a Jedi attack on the Republic's trade partners to rid the galaxy of the Sith religion. The Force (now called Lifeforce) was being studied scientifically, and the ability to use it wasn't genetic.
Now he is hosting a live show, streaming it via Youtube, and answering questions from the comments.
