It is present day in the country of North America. On this day, as on any other, the sun will set and rise again the following day. There have been no bombings, no assassinations, and no shootings recently. It is quiet, and it is only the interest to humanity is the internet, and posting some memes sometime after they get out of bed. Nothing is unusual, because the deadliest thing on Earth has been the deadliest thing on Earth for quite a long time. Nestled in cities, the more populous the better, are a species few and far between which feed on the living tissue of humans. These are called Ghouls. Able to only seemingly cannibalize, though they are not human themselves, they are incapable of eating "human food" without experiencing physical illness and weakness, though they can still drink coffee and water. Ghouls have regulated their own numbers, and most humans, save for the paranoid and conspiracy theorists, have never heard of a Ghoul. Those who have seen them first hand are either to frightened to speak of it, or not alive to do so. There are no established task forces that exist to exterminate Ghouls, and so in this moment... Humanity appears to be on it's own.

This is one of those iffy plots, because I have no set direction for it. It will be a sort of go with the flow plot, so I'm definitely comfortable with a lot of roleplayers for a lot of variables to keep the story interesting.
