Kade grew up in a region nestled between the great river, Cold Wash and the rugged Blade Ridge Mountain. (These landmarks are named different depending on which race asked.) Her people are nomadic and very savage.

They raid a village here and there to gain things they could not obtain from the forest. They terrorize, slay and burn down the villages leaving no one the wiser. Shortly after her first lone kill of a farmer and his family, Kade was pronounced an adult at one hundred and sixteen.

A sickness zipped through the family, leaving most of the ones that did survive weak. Not able to handle the weakened state, many killed themselves. Kade was one of the few that was immune to the raging illness, solely due to the ring she had found. She continues wandering about the endless forest waiting for some calling or cause.

Nahal Amakiir

Age: 128
Gender: Male
Race: Elf
Appearance: Nahal is well toned from his constant walking and occasional running for his life. He has light brown hair that reaches to the middle of his back, normally in a braid and he sports blue almond shaped eyes that are typical for his family line.

Nahal stands five foot five inches and has relied on his magical and running skills to keep himself alive.

Clothing: Being a wizard, he wear a dark robe over his cloth pants and boots. He has his spell book and component pouch hanging from his belt. He has a choker of smooth black stones, a ring on both hands and a circlet on his head. (Still working on what spells are in his jewelry.)

Weapons: Quarter staff.

Equipment: Bedroll, spell book, spell component pouch, a small dagger for eating purposes and a coin purse with a small sum of money.

History:
Nahal grew up in the glittering city of Meliamne, his parents were rich and he was given the best in everything. He was in want of nothing and his life was a breeze. He had everything planned from where he was going to live, who he was going to marry and how many servants he was going to have. His friends adored him and loved his money he was always flaunting.

He went through the best training for wizardry and flew through the classes partly because of his family’s influences.

Life fell around his pointed ears the moment he was told to finish school he had to take a long internship with a wandering wizard. Nahal did everything in his power to wiggle out of it and still be considered a full fledged wizard. The school wouldn’t bend the rules for no one and his father was in the strict standing that an Amakiir did not quit.

So, out into the world he went, finding that hunger really sucked. His shoes were not exactly road worthy and sand clung everywhere. Even in places he cared not mention. And this was only the second day, he had a whole three hundred and sixty three days of this to endure.

As months passed he found his body being conditioned, his senses a little keener and he lost a few pounds. Mostly because he was always hungry. He used his magical abilities for more practical purposes and found most of the people in the smaller towns were more grateful than the ones with more money.

Near the end of his time they were far away from his land of his birth, out in the sticks that led to nowhere. His mentor caught a walking pneumonia which he kept passing off as a cold and he died shortly thereafter. Nahal hadn’t paid any attention to where they were or how to get back.

He had to resort to stealing for food when he couldn’t get people to pay for his magical services. He was thrown out, had stones thrown at him and spit on several times. He lost his cool several times during those moments and used his spells to punish them. He found himself on the run after he killed a man.

S'Lee

Gender: Female
Age:
Physical Description

S'Lee is a seven foot tall creature with animal leg structure complete with clawed toes. Massive membrane wings attached to her back from shoulder to waist, her fingers were tipped with horned claws and is covered with delicate reddish brown scales that covered her from head to toe.

Two horns anchored just behind the 'hairline' above her rust colored eyes arched back in a gentle sweep toward the back of her bald head. Her face bares a short muzzle and her mouth is filled with sharp teeth, she still have elf like ears only a bit longer at the points.

(Now before you roll your eyes and hit the back button read the history of this character. Give her a chance.)

S'Lee has a brown linen loincloth and the panels hang to her knees. The front panel is decorated with a stitched with palm tree next to a clear pool. From toe to ankle is wrapped with matching brown cloth. She wears a necklace carved from stone that sits in the hollow of her neck, tied around her throat with a braided cloth.

Personality

S'Lee had been a vain elf who cared for little but herself. She had been handed life on a silver platter and tolerated less than the best. She was graceful and all sorts of beautiful, who loved new silks and fine clothing, nothing 'below' standard ever touched her. She would snub anyone or anything she felt was beneath her in anyway. She had little tolerance for people's excuses even if they were good ones, she knew what she wanted and she wanted now.

She had turned her back on more than one person in her lifetime, and let her natural healing abilities go unused. She was just far too busy and beautiful to care about the bleeding and the sick.

Due to dramatic turn of events, she was forced to learn what it felt like to have compassion, selflessness and general feelings. Though, these are strange new concepts for her, she is trying to understand. She is a dunce for the most part to the most common courtesy and mannerisms of society.

She is not much of a fighter save when hunting for small animals to fill her belly. She tends to be more of a coward when confronted by things that appear that could rip her apart. Run and hide is her creed. She is still ashamed of what she has become, and has a hard time coming to grips of her 'ugly'. She stays away from any elf for they just remind her of all she had lost.

S"Lee is more or less cold blooded, she does not fare well in cold climates. She can produce some heat but not for long periods of time. Her wings are huge and a lot of heat escapes from them, she cannot sweat so she will use the wings in desert and hot climates to regulate body temperature.

Equipment

Pouch (if needed for spell components).
Enough components for two resurrection spells or one true resurrection.

Spells (as found in the D&D players handbook v3.5).
Heal
Regenerate
Resurrection
True Resurrection
Cure light, moderate and critical wounds. (As needed)

Full attack: Bite and 2 claws. When flying he can attempt to swoop down and hit with the talons. (Still learning to maneuver while flying makes this a nearly impossible task for now)

S'Lee has natural armor. S'Lee cannot wear leather, metal or use shields. She is not proficient with weapons save the natural ones.

History

She was a typical elf growing up, who always boasted about her grand looks to anyone in earshot or at any time she could. She was indeed beautiful, long flowing hair, elegant face and body. She was the very picture of Elvin good looks. She knew it. Everyone could see it. Why hide behind fake modesty? Her life reflected her blessed looks, she was given everything and rarely had to lift a finger. She also had a man she would marry. He wasn’t as beautiful as she, but then no one really came close.

During a typical hunt with a few other rangers, she wasn’t all that interested in gathering food for the village. She instead leaned against a tree trunk peering into a mirror, in the reflection she saw a strange face behind her in the bush. She turned and beheld the red-brown miniature dragon with massive wounds littered about the body and neck. “Please, don’t kill me,” the pseudodragon pleaded. “I mean no harm to you.” The housecat sized creature fell to his side, exhausted from his travels and the massive wounds. “Please, elf, I need healing.”

“And get my new tunic full of your blood? I think not,” she stated with a snort and walked away. The creature hissed and howled after her, cursing the one that could have saved his life. It took all his energy to push the curse beyond his small body and he died a few seconds later.

That moment changed everything.

When she returned to the village people kept giving her odd looks, and one asked what was on her forehead. Naturally, she ran to the nearest reflective surface and found there was a reddish brown mark. No matter how much washing or rubbing the mark would not fade or disappear.

She was shunned and feared as the mark developed into a hard scale that began to spread over her whole body. That was not the end of her torment, her body began to change as well. She ran back to find the pseudodragon only to find a half eaten corpse. For the first time in her life she felt regret, and she didn’t like it. Whatever was happening, she was unable to change it.

Over the next few days, her five foot body stretched into a seven foot monster. She morphed into a creature with animal leg structure complete with clawed toes. Massive membrane wings grew that was attached to her back from shoulder to waist, her fingers were tipped with horned claws. The delicate scales reddish brown scales covered her from head to toe.

All of hair fell out causing her to weep bitter tears, two horns anchored just behind the hairline above her eyes arched back in a gentle sweep toward the back of her head.

She ran (yes ran) away deep into the forest, toward the unknown regions beyond the woodland. She walked in a random direction in hopes to find someone to cure her state. All the witches and wizards were unable to touch the strong magic, it was a death curse. Only dragons knew how to break it.

With little hope, she began to plead with the deities. Telling them that she had seen the errors of her ways that she has changed. Her pleas fell upon deaf ears. She was lost, alone and itching!

Weeks passed, she had to relearn how to hunt and went to sleep hungry for many nights. She was quick to figure out that rolling and rubbing sand on her hide eased the itching, with the happy side effect of gleaming scales.

She came upon a child crying near an oasis in the vast stretches of the desert. She merely wanted to quench her thirst and continue on her way. She stopped seeing the deep wounds on the child's knee and leg, the child had fell off a rock she sat next to. She felt something stirring in her soul, it caused tears to sting her eyes. Compassion hit her like a stone wall. She couldn’t bare to leave her scared and hurt.

The child screamed and balled up in a fetal position when S'Lee approached. S'Lee took a deep breath and gathered her will, whispering a gentle song like chant. Her hand pressed upon the child's skinny leg and the flesh knitted together the bone snapped into place. The youngster uncurled and blinked at her, looking at her leg than the monster again. The child jumped to her feet and embraced her thanking her many times. “Do you have a name?”

“No.”

“That is plain silly,” she giggled and ran away.

She couldn’t help but smile at the strange feeling that bubbled inside her, it threatened to consume her. She had done a selfless act it washed over her touching every inch of her heart, she started away when adults approached, followed the young child. They welcomed her into their group, giving her much needed food and replaced her ragged clothing. The shaman taught her more about her healing powers, how to use her energy wisely. Also how to replenish it when it was gone. It took awhile for her to actually listen and learn the lessons.

Over the next couple of months, all the young boys took the task to get the winged one in the air. S'Lee wanted nothing to do with that noise and wasn’t about to get her feet off the ground. They literally had to push her off a cliff. It wasn’t pretty at first as she fell screaming, she righted herself and her wings caught the wind and she soared. She felt a huge sense of freedom, she rose and moved with the air currents.

The landing was not graceful, thankfully her scales took most of the sands harsh rubbing. The boys danced and cheered as she was sprawled out on the ground emitting a moans of pain.

One of the older hunters took her out to the oasis where they spent most of the day watching the birds lift off and fly. S'Lee figured out how to land soon thereafter, not gracefully but without sliding her face over the landscape.

They went their separate ways and she was again alone, she didn’t mind as much. She felt better equipped to handle her new life. She had a new name and more knowledge. S'Lee knew it would not be easy, for she had a lot of bad habits to overcome. She felt it would be worth it.
