Within the thick wood of the Enchanted Forest, former portal-jumping thief Jefferson, and his eleven year-old daughter Grace, have lived peacefully, but poorly in a wooden cottage as mushroom sellers. After losing his wife Priscilla, Jefferson hung up his greatest possession, and began to deeply revolve his life around his only child, going to great devoting lengths to keep her alive, happy, and safe: playing hide-and-seek during the day, and looking out for each other at night. However, someone has been watching them in the woods, and the town market.

Someone never mentioned by his wife, and someone with a fierce reputation to despise and hunt users of dark magic; Jefferson thinks they're spies, or assassins, but they're not whom he'd expect either: Priscilla's paternal siblings, who've grown on a hell-bent promise of keeping their half-sister's family together. That is until they are put to the test when an evil figure kidnaps Grace and plans to use her for an evil hex. Going mad might be one thing that Jefferson could do, but he would have to trust these figures of his wife's past, if he wants to save his daughter.
