I can understand your character and his personality and motivations and etc. But don't expect that to mean he can get away with being an asshole. There will be repercussions for excessive dickery and remember, he's not the strongest trainer yet.

It's been brought to my attention that I've been godmodding in a lot of my posts. I wanted to apologize for this, because I assure you, I had no intentions of stealing anyone else's character. I'll make sure not to do this in the future.

Also, Draco: He's not an asshole. He's a kid with a lot of issues that currently doesn't have any interest in making friends. And by "doesn't have any interest", I really mean "actively opposed to the idea". He thinks they'll just slow him down. Alex really only trusts his Pokemon.

Alex is an asshole to the characters though, lol. Especially with that stunt Houndoom just pulled. If my own Alex sees this (writing my post right now, he's gonna be a little later than everyone else), then they're already enemies. Experience with bullies and all that. Should be good times.

Assholery is how you act, issues is what you have. And he's a kid with issues and he's acting like an asshole.

He just knocked Max out of his seat, that's something assholes do.

I don't think anyone's opposed to you making him act like an asshole. It's more like you say : "don't hate me, my character's acting like a jerk." And we say "Don't hate me, my character thinks yours is a jerk.'

Also, awkward timing with posts. I'll edit mine to match yours Draco

Honestly, it's actually kind of hard to be a jerk like this. I'm normally a pretty nice guy. Quiet, aloof, and a loner, sure, but I don't really go around acting like I'm the best thing ever or kicking people out of seats. Plz no to be hating me! I'm only doing it for the story.

It takes a very good writer to write a character as completely unlikeable as Alexander.

I don't think anyone here thinks you are actually an asshole.

Nah, don't worry. I get that. I mean Mr. Cobalt himself can be kind of a jerk himself, just in not such an antagonistic way. For instance, just because he hates bullies doesn't mean he really has sympathy for the ones being bullied, even though he definitely should.

No. No you can't. And that's exactly how I want it. =) My big thing with characters is layering: masks on top of masks to hide their true selves. Then I leave it for the other players to unravel. Is Alex just a power-hungry jerk that thinks no more of other trainers than of insects? Maybe. Or maybe there's more to him. I leave it to you to find out.

Don't worry, I've RPed with people using jerk characters before. I'm used to it. :) Being nice to them always seems to piss them off more than being a jerk back. xD

I'll respond to that when I get home. Typing long posts on a 3DS is a pain. >.<

On a 3DS?! I don't even. Anytime I post in the OOC I'm on my phone, but 3DS... I couldn't imagine doing that.

Just out of curiosity what's all of your guys' favorite main series Pokemon games. Mine is personally Crystal but X and Y blew me away just by how good it looked and played and how well they used France folklore. Colosseum's and XD are up there too but I don't consider them part of the main series.

X and Y are definitely a testament to Pokemon games, but overall, my favorite has to be HeartGold/SoulSilver. Johto is a great region, going back to Kanto feels awesome, and the game inarguably holds one of the coolest rivals ever! But the best and most epic moment in the game, and possibly any game, can be summarized in one word: Red.

I don't have a fancy smartphone, sadly. Too expensive. :(

I played Pokemon since Yellow, and I do not have any nostalgia for Kanto. :/ I have nostalgia for Pikachu though. xD My favorite main series game is HG/SS oddly enough. xD Lots to do there! I also like BW2 and Emerald. Hopefully Z/XY2/whatever the next game is, is good.

crystal was my first Pokemon game, and after that I played red and yellow as well. But my all time favorite is Emerald, because I'm a music nut, and Hoenn has the best music bar none.

also I feel like Pokemon designs hit their peak in gens 2-3

Yeah, I agree with you about the designs. I don't think the designs after 2 and 3 are bad, but I don't think they're as good after that.
I think the reason I like Johto and the gen 2 games is the music and the Pokemon designs, I love the post-game in Kanto as well. I actually started playing the games in 2004-ish (mostly because I could read at that point and time) and my parents were super cheap and wouldn't buy me a Gameboy Advance so I got a hand-me-down GBA with Pokemon Crystal. I never actually played B2/W2 just because I had enough of Unova in the first games.

Tag how old are you?

Anyway, gen one had some really meh designs, exegcute line, muk, koffing, etc. But gen 2 seemed to really know what it was going for, things like Houndoom, Murkrow, Skarmory, were amazing. Gen 3 is the most "natural" feeling gen to me because they are all clearly tropical animals, and that's why it's my favorite. I just feel Hoenn has the most consistent flavour out of all the regions. Kanto is the beginning and was finding it's feet, Johto felt pretty damned dark to me, Hoenn was bright and tropical, and everything after that seems all over the place.
