Many years ago there existed a large population of Witches. They held much control over the land and often enthralled knights to serve as their protectors, robbing them of their free will in the process. Magic can take time to cast so they would have the knights fight whilst they readied their spells. Eventually a group of knights that had not yet been enslaved banded together and revolted. They were able to drive the witches into hiding.

Many years have passed and although a witch is a rare sight, the order of knights that was founded as a result of the war between the factions still exists. It trains its members to recognise magic and ruthlessly hunt down those who use it. They know somewhere exists the fabled Malgia Village, the home and hub for all witches. Their goal is to find it and destroy every last witch.

My character is a knight that has been training with the Order. One day in the course of a mission, he will come across your character, a witch. Although the two may not be immediately aware of who the other one is. They strike up a friendship and when the time comes that they realise they have to fight, they find themselves unable to kill the other, even in self defense.
As a result, they come together and decide to defy their collective norms. A knight not enthralled by a witch, but willingly protecting her in defiance of all reason, and a witch fighting alongside a knight instead of using him as a mere tool.
The two will have to struggle to survive in a world that denies they can exist together in a state of harmony and prove the solution is walking a new path by defying fate itself.
