The Grand Inquisitor.

The year is M41. 110, The indomintus crusade has returned to Macragge and the great rift that tore the galaxy asunder in the time of ending is beginning to weaken. The light of hope may have returned to the Imperium of Man, but much of the galaxy is still in its grim-darkness.

The imperium must be protected from enemies external and within, and none wield the Emperor’s wraith more than the Inquisition. Agents of the Imperium whose only purpose to find and eliminate threats to Imperium; whether they be from the mutant, heretic, or alien.

But as the unspeakable, unwavering horrors of the material and immaterial strengthen, so to must the weapons we use to repel them.

One of the last loyal living primarchs, Roboute Guilliman understood this and gifted the Adeptus Astartes with the Primaris legions and launched a grand crusade to reunite the stars. To hold these planets together, however he would need to strengthen those who watch the watchmen.

4 inquisitors were picked by Guilliman himself, men he saw had souls of purity and minds of actions He appointed them as the Segmentum Inquisitoris or The Grand inquisitors. Inquisitors trusted with the authority and resources to organise, assist and in some cases investigate the many Inquisitors of the Ultima Segmentum

Guilliman believed that if he could properly organize and equip the inquisition while limiting their ability to turn traitorous through accountability he could secure the thousands of planets recaptured in his crusade.

Given charge of the Ultima Segmentum Alexi Karamov is the least experienced of all the grand inquisitors but has had one of the most successful careers as an inquisitor since the days of Eisenhorn. Expert tactian, adept psyker and shrewd political agent, Inquisitor Karamov was known for his rationality- interested in strengthening the Imperium more than just punishing the wicked Karamov used his inquistiorial rossette as often as he could to replace a corrupt planetary governor or an ineffective Astra Militarum commander.

Grand Inquisitor Karamov, establisig a base of operations aboard the massive orbital space station “Malcador’s lantern”, above a long dead planet, in a long-forgotten system. Everyday ships depart the lantern travelling to destination all over the galaxy to secure agents, weapons, tech and everything else needed to bring the galaxy back into order.

So I’m interested in doing a 40k rp, but these grand and epic sci-fi RPs can be a bit hard to control. I think, however, I’ve come up with an elegant solution.

The players will be assigned by the grand inquisitor to an inquisitor’s retinue in some area of the segmentum. The inqusistor (played by myself) will act more as a story point (and more importantly accelerator/brake when needed.) than a player character themselves.
If we get enough players there’s a possibility of multiple Inquisitors and their retinues simultaneously going on missions at once.

Hopefully this is still kicking, because I'm definitely interested. Had a character concept for various 40k things rattling around in my head for a while now, and I'd love to use it here.
