They all arrived to the tower when they were six years old. Some were taken forcibly, some were sold, and some given up just in the hopes of a better life than their parents. No matter their origins they were forged into the greatest warriors and tacticians the world had ever known. The trials of the tower forging each and every soul within into a hardened and sharpened weapon. Not every child who entered was known to come out, the heat of the forge burning away the impurities of the lesser souls. Only the truly gifted survived. And along with them a bond between each young man and woman who came out on the other side. A bond that can only be born in blood and trial. But will this bond hold as they enter into the real world? A world that seemed determined to be engulfed in the fires of war and destruction.

(This could be modern, fantasy, or sci-fi. We could also start at when they just arrived to the tower or when they graduate and enter the real world. Whatever catches your fancy.)

What if I were to tell you that magic was real? What if I told you that all those fairy tale had come true? Every legend born from a grain of truth. And these grains have persisted into the modern period. And not just of Western Culture either. The Deva and Devi of Hinduism, the gods of the Native Americans, Shango and Eshu, wizards and demons and angels and druids. They all exist in some form. Hidden from the common man.

This world is loosely based off the Iron Druid Chronicles if anyone is familiar with that series. The foundation of this world being that it is modern times but humanities fervent belief in the supernatural gave birth to these fables made reality. There is both Jesus the human and Jesus the divine every bit as much as there is Satin and Lucifer. There are common witches and there are werewolves in this world. However the world has moved on from many of these creatures and divine beings. The power of science and various ideological wars having waned the numbers of believers. With this ever decreasing number of followers most deities prefer to spend their time in their own planes.

The supernatural world remains relatively unknown to the masses and that is how most prefer it these days. For those less than godlike creatures it means they can proceed with their lives without any great hindrances or fear of the mobs breaking down their doors. The gods tread carefully not to invoke the wrath of some more powerful divine being, most preferring to spend eternity in the bliss of their own realms, at most making small appearances for their own people.

And so it is the world is in relative balance. Time chugging ever onwards. Most people buzzing about without the slightest hint at understanding this other world. That is, until your character is nearly turned into the fodder another supernatural creature needs to survive, or until they are served up as an unwitting sacrifice in some ritual. Whatever the case your character comes to a painful realization. Their are other beings out there and they are powerful. This realization seems to come hand in hand with your characters demise until they are saved by another being. It is here your character makes a decision. With life almost stolen from them due to their ignorance they need to learn, they need to defend themselves. And so begins their quest in joining this supernatural community of others.

Will your character join the forces that feast upon the unknowing? Will they defend those that cannot defend themselves? Will they even survive long enough to make such decisions? All of human creativity is at our disposal to answer these questions and more!
