Welcome&&Introduction.
Call me Spiders. I've been here before but can't remember my login information. I'm a relatively experienced roleplayer possessing about a decade's worth of writing experience. Life's taken a steep downward turn as of late (completely my fault), and while I seek to get my collective shit together I desire some good writing to distract me from the brutal roundhouse kick of reality. As you may have surmised from the title, I desire to roleplay with individuals above 18 years of age (ideally above 21, as I am a female in my mid-twenties myself). This is because I like my stories to contain mature themes (from violence to profanity), and would hate to send the unwary roleplayer running for the virtual hills. Also, I only roleplay through PMs. No exceptions.
Rules&&Information.
^ I desire someone who considers themselves of an "advanced" (or at the very least "high casual") standard in writing. This hardly refers to post length, since I would be more than happy to receive even two short paragraphs if they were of quality. I want fluid, descriptive writing utilizing proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation as far as possible (though I am more than aware we all make mistakes; I do). I'd rather you spend your time perfecting that short post, as opposed to just vomiting a novel with no real meaning.
^ That being said, I will produce at least three paragraphs per post, depending on my level of inspiration and material I'm given to work with.
^ I do not promise posting consistency. At my best, I can post almost every day, but right now that isn't guaranteed. As I mentioned in my introduction, life is currently twisting the life (ha!) out of me and try as I might, I cannot ignore it completely. I also have bouts of depression where writing is the last thing I want to do. However, I will endeavor to communicate whenever reality bites a little too hard. I have work, I have a spouse... You know the drill.
^ I will play a male or female main character, but I prefer to only have one main character with others as minor characters/supporting NPCs that we share.
^ While I do enjoy romance as a plot element, nothing puts me off faster than instant romance. No, my character will not jump into bed with your character three posts in, but romantic development (or "slow burn") is always great.
^ Other story elements I enjoy include hurt, heartache, angst, shades of gray morality, tragedy, suffering... Generally, the dark stuff. There of course can be moments of joy stuffed in-between, but nothing pleases me more than putting my characters through the grinder. I do love the "triumphantly overcoming a great adversity" trope when it comes to stories, whether that event be slaying a giant demonic beast or paying the bills on time other such achievements.
^ I am generally not fond of character sheets or using art/photographs as character representation. I'd rather just write a description of them in my first post. I can be convinced otherwise, but I thought I should let my prospective roleplaying partners know beforehand. I am also fond of plotting in OOC as we go along, rather than spending weeks building the entire world/setting before we even begin to write.

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but I've had many past roleplay partners simply ignore my rules which ended up ruining our partnership.
