Year 3000.

The earth is dying, decaying right under the people's feet, and they're willing to do anything to survive.

After more than 1,000 years of picking at Earth's ozone, mother nature can finally take no more, and now precious air is limited.

luckily for the people of Earth, they were already prepared for this upcoming disaster. Mars was already claimed as property, and space buses were ready for deployment. Volunteers would spend the next 100 years on Mars to prep it for the rest of the nation's people.

Everything was going well, and the "Martians" kept in contact with Earth every 2 years. But suddenly children and livestock on Mars begin dying, same as the agriculture.

Something was wrong.

Turned out that Mars wasn't as docile as it seemed. When computers malfunction, a toxic gas native to the planet was released, which slowly killed off the peoples' children and food sources.

While trying to evacuate and call off the mission, their fuel source explodes after coming in contact with the noxious gas.

The people of Mars are instructed to go back into their pods and wait until the next day for instructions.

They end up sleeping 10 years away, frozen in time...

Note

Your character awakens when their slumber pod opens. They weak and parched.

Engineering Lab- Also known as the Laboratories, these are the workplaces dealing with most technology in the Villages

Seekers- Special officers who kept in contact with Earth and studied Mars, most work as Peacekeepers among the villages
Pod Bay- Resting and living spaces for all citizens (only accessible through Quarantine)
Pod- sleeping pod in which a citizen goes in order to rest
Anti-G boots- Anti-gravity boots (all Martians must wear them, lest they be sucked into space as soon as they go outside)
(You can choose to be part of any Village; A, B, C, or D, and you can choose any occupation. Just note, the areas do have different sets of risk and reward)

Monster Types
Foamer- They flash bright green when startled. The most human looking of all of the monsters-- they have soggy pale skin that can be covered with a slimy, luminous liquid. The liquid is harmless, but the bites are not. They have razor-like claws and bone-crunching teeth. They move a bit slow.

Drippers- Mutated creatures with grey or yellow skin, and flesh dripping off of their bones. Disgustingly long yellow teeth and equally yellow mouths. The flesh that drips off of them is highly acidic and very painful. Once killed, their bodies create mushroom-like spores that explode a deadly mist which infects and turns the living into the infected. They move at a moderate pace.

Crawlers - Skinny, skeletal looking creatures with black/ brownish charred skin and infection ridden, two inch claws, they crawl on all four and move incredibly fast. They lack eyes and nostrils, and rely completely on their hearing.

None of these "zombies" can infect you with a bite or scratch, but you can get extremely sick and die if not treated properly. The only way for you to become infected is to be exposed to the spores which shoot out of dead Drippers.

Remember, Crawlers are the most abundant of the three types, and Drippers are the least.
