Cinnabar Island

Kjolmar looked at the vulcano and nodded. "This has to be the right island, Zubat. Let's find Looker." The two of them walked towards the vulcano and entered what looked like an inactive gym. There didn't appear to be anyone inside until suddenly a Magmar appeared. Not exactly who they had been looking for.
"Hi" Kjolmar tried carefully. "Is your trainer here?" The Magmar nodded and motioned for them to follow it. Sweating from the heath, Kjolmar and Zubat followed Magmar deeper into the vulcano until they reached an old man.

"I.D.?" the old man asked.
Kjolmar hesitated. "Excuse me?"
The old man looked grumpy. "You know what I'm talking about, kid." Kjolmar pinched his eyes. How dare that old man call him a kid? A little annoyed, he showed his KSF badge. The old man smiled. "Alright, Kjolmar. I just had to make sure. Old Blaine can't be too careful, can he? Anyway, Looker isn't here. He went to the Mansion to meet with your partner. It's the building where they revive fossils, a little further down the island."
Kjolmar frowned. "Partner? Zubat is my partner. Looker didn't tell me anyone else would be joining."
Blaine laughed and coughed a little. "You are about to confronte Team Rocket, you need to go as a team. Trust me." While Zubat was flying circles around Magmar, Kjolmar tried to progress the news. "Very well, we'll head to the Mansion. Thank you for your time."

On their way out, Blaine shouted at them "Oh, and make sure to find some sea transport, Looker will send you to Fuchsia City first." Kjolmar wasn't sure on how to get there, as he came here by boat from Pallet Town but it only went there and back.

Pallet Town

Back in Pallet Town was a young girl and a small larvitar eating their breakfast and getting ready for the day. Today, her Aunt Francis had plans to go over to Lavander town so Mia had other plans. Though she wasn't allowed out of the small town, she was rebellious and would sometimes go train in the woods with her larvitar. She has such a great opportunity today since her aunt won't be coming back in a while."Alright, Mia, I'll be heading out now. Don't forget to clean that room of yours!""Okay Aunty!"She watches very carefully as Francis leaves and shuts the door. As soon as she closes the door, she looks over to larvitar. "Ready to train today?"She says as her head turns straight over to the tiny dirt dino."Lar!" he shouts back to her in excitement. "Alright! The last one to finished their breakfast is a rotten exeggcute!" Mia shouts as she begins to gobble down her food, Larvitar grabs his plate and swallows it whole, leaving Mia in defeat! "Aww man! Well, that's 3 to 4! A tiebreaker!"

Soon they both race outside and into the front yard! They continue down the little town as they wave to their neighbors and find the beginning of the route that leads into the woods where they would train. "You smell that Larvitar? That's the smell of adventure!" She looks over to larvitar with shimmer in her eyes. "Larr!!" The larvitar cheers back!

At the Cinnabar Mansion, Looker informed Kjolmar about his mission. He was to set sail to Fuchsia City and from there take a bike to Celadon City, where he was to investigate Team Rocket's hideout. "Have you arranged some sort of transport for me? I don't assume you expect me to swim all that way, do you? And Blaine mentioned a partner, what is that about?" Kjolmar asked, a little annoyed at how he had been kept in the dark about all those things.

"Ah yes, I believe there is one answer for both your questions." Looked replied and placed a pokeball in Kjolmar's hands. "She will transport you and she will also aid you on this mission. Alongside your Zubat ofcourse." Kjolmar pinched his eyes at the pokeball and put it away for now, next to Zubat's pokeball. "I better get going."

At the coastline he took out his two pokeballs and released Zubat first. "Hey buddy, are you ready to meet our new friend? If I should believe the rumors, he will turn out to be quite useful to us." Zubat screeched. It was never fully clear which emotion Zubat was showing. Except to Kjolmar. Kjolmar always seemed to be able to read Zubat just fine.

Kjolmar opened the second pokeball. "Abra? How are we going to cross the ocean with an Abra? I was expecting a Gyarados or a Pidgeot or something." Zubat screeched again and rapidly flapped his wings. Kjolmar nodded firmly. "You are right. Abra can use telekinesis to hover us over the water."

When arriving at Fuchsia City, Kjolmar noticed how Abra had gotten rather tired from the trip. "Poor thing, you must be exhausted. Have some rest. Zubat, you too." He then retreated both his partners to their pokeballs and went looking for a bike to ride to Celadon.
