Hey all! CK here. Real name redacted to protect the identify of the accused, in the event that she unwittingly commits a taboo in her first week, and is chased from the guild by a pitchfork-wielding mob.

Roleplaying career:
- I have been play-by-post RPing for roughly half my life.
- I've primarily stuck with the same crowd on the same board, but once I took an indefinite break a few years ago to focus on filmmaking, I started falling out of touch with a lot of them and I've not any interest in going back. My writing has also changed as I've been going after some really competitive funding. It's exciting and I love the hustle more than I expected, but I really, really miss writing with others for just pure fun. I was toying with the idea of starting a forum, looking at different softwares, fell down a rabbit hole, and ended up here. Some looking around and I see it was a very nice place to land with a lot of talented players.
- I don't know anyone here. Please someone adopt me.
Roleplaying preferences:
- I love the unexpected and seriously appreciate when someone has a skill for revealing information in the most thrilling/dramatic way possible.
- I'm flexible but my favourite genres are: Dystopian (rebels, villains, conflicted parties, oh my!); Horror; Magical; Western. I also have a weird minor fascination with 11th century monasteries (I can't even explain that one).
- Favourite character dynamics: rivalries, petty or epic; doomed lovers; master/servant, willing or not; david vs. goliath; families, clannish or fractured; crappy parents and bitter children.
- For post length and pace... still figuring that out now that I'm back at this. My favourite is catching someone for an hour or two of rapid-fire but I can usually match longer posts as well. When you get a few people on the rapid-fire it's even better. I can do a maximum of two threads at a time right now because I'm old.
Hobbies and interests:
- Basically my entire non-day-job life has been consumed by film and I love it. I just finished writing my first feature film through an industry program and it was hard AF. A fantasy short I wrote and produced was also funded by a private broadcaster and is currently running the festival circuit, and I'm producing another funded comedy web series pilot this Spring.
- I hit the film fest circuit wherever I'm invited and I love travelling and getting to know other creatives. I've been all over and even attended two red carpet premieres at the Cannes film festival. My little project wasn't in the official selection but part of a curated program repping my country in the market at the festival. My favourite cities are Edinburgh, Porto, Berlin, and Mexico City.
- Favourite movies from last year: Rainer Sarnet's November and Panos Cosmatos' Mandy
- I have a "Joe job" in the non-profit sector because unsurprisingly, indie filmmaking does not keep the lights on. It's ok for desk work but I've been considering taking some time off later in the year to try my hat at freelancing, but we'll see...
I come to you as a lone RPer from the far reaches of the internet. I would love to meet new RP partners or kindred souls and get a better feel for how things work around here.
