In a bleak future society has changed its views on education. And it is our children who suffer for it. A whole new system of (JDC) juvenile detention centers has been created. The children who are sent to these facilities come from specific sources. CRIMINAL juveniles are NOT among them. At least, that isn’t what landed them there.

Expulsion
Children who get into fights, are truant constant, highly disruptive, habitual offenders.

Abandoned, Severely Abused, or Neglected Children
Lack of parental authority. This includes children who are orphans. This becomes a substitute for foster homes.

Criminal Parents
Pretty self explanatory. Your parents are in jail. But the children are the ones convicted of crimes. But it may include include children of parents held in jail merely accused of crimes and unable to get out on bond.

The schools are laid out like prisons, though the rooms are nicer. Children are tagged with subdermal RFID biochips. These are short ranged, enough to let the Staff know if a child isn’t where they are supposed to be, like not in class. Or it will tell them if they are in another student’s room. Or if they aren’t at the JDC.

Education
Classes are compulsory. Your Counsellor will assign your classes. Good behavior means better odds of a getting the classes you want. The truth is the Counsellors often have instructions about what you will learn. All Staff Members are armed with biometrically secured tasers.

Physical Education is also compulsory and harsh. The coaches will run you ragged. They are like drill instructors.

Regular classes like English are large. There is usually a teacher and at least one assistant. The assistants help keep order. You will be required to learn the 3 R’s.

Corporal punishment has returned to these schools. This means paddlings. (Some of the teachers refuse to use these methods; some employ it with something approaching sadism. Heaven help the student who ends up at odds with a teacher.)

Now as bad as this all sounds, rarely do the tasers get used. Example get made as needed. The teachers actually appreciate kids who show up and start trouble. It give them a chance to impress upon the rest of the kids how things are done.

If a kid actually does harm an instructor, they get transferred to a criminal JDC (and effectively out of the RP). The only other way out is a medical transfer (physical or mental).

Characters
Please no seniors. I want characters that don’t expect to get out of the JDC soon. This is a combined K-12. I might entertain the idea if you have siblings as well.

Plot
One possible plot I have in mind is planning and executing an escape. If we go that route, the RP will become one of evading the law.
