In the far flung future, humanity spread far and wide among the stars, enjoying a golden age of technological advancement and progress. For almost a century the species flourished through the establishment of thousands of colonies under a robust system of government that ruled fairly and effectively with its cutting edge military technology and shrewd diplomacy. Rival nations came and went but in due time almost all of the known core space in the Milkyway fell under the jurisdiction of the United Federation of Planetary Systems, or UFED for short.

It was not to last

Almost at once a string of minor issues suddenly became utter catastrophes as the UFED's military became spread too thin as mass revolts took place across various star systems all across the galaxy. Lowered recruitment standards led to corrupt commanders and officers installing themselves as tinpot dictators on various fringe worlds and before anything could be done to prevent it full fledged civil war broke up as numerous factions contributed their part to setting the galaxy on fire. Borders became relative as new governments rose and fell with each passing cycle as centuries of technological advancement was undone in a matter of decades. As loyalties become strained and paychecks become incredibly uncertain, piracy and scavenging has escalated exponentially. The one trade that will accept anyone from all walks of life, from the disgruntled UFED officer to the starving street urchin, these rogue crews, colloquially referred to as "Scrappers" run the gamut from breaking down derelict hulls to open piracy or even selling their services as mercenaries.

This RP will take place from the perspective of one such Scrapper crew, locating what could be the haul of a lifetime: An ancient colony ship from the days of the first mass migration into Outer Space. Cracking it open could reveal unheard of riches and incredible technological rediscoveries, that is if the crew can safely deal with the horrors that lurk within.
