Jayce stopped at the corner of a busy street in New Auburn City, his hood over his head and his features were hidden.
Surely they'd know if I'm in city... Jay thought to himself, he headed towards a nice cottage located on the street.
He unlocked the door with the shared key, which was hidden in a fake brick on the wall. He sighed as he got into the house, closing the door behind him.

He tossed his bag against the couch as he stepped towards one of the windows before he stretched, pulling off his cloak and tossing it aside. A rattle came from the cloak as it hit the couch.
A ruby red tail flicked out from one of the sleeves before a small face poked out.
"Wyf!" Jay said before he moved to pick up his beast-companion. He untangled the Cathern from his cloak. The long noodle-like body wrapped around her owners arm as her pointed snout moved to looked around.

"I'm sorry baby~" He cooed to Wyf, "I didn't mean to toss you onto the couch, I thought you were on my shoulders!" Wyf gave a purr before she stretched to nudge her owner, leaping onto the couch and gave a chirrup about his luggage.
"I know, I know." Jay sighed. "I just wanted to get my bearings before I unpacked. Who knows how long I'll be here for, I need to warn the others and figure out what's going on..."

He moved to pop open his tiny suitcase before it seemed to stretched and popped up as a larger suitcase. Jay moved to pick up his journal and a pen, opening it to scribble something down.
"Good thing I threw my phone aside." Jay added, moving to look at his companion, who bounced around the room. Wyf often bounced into the air before floating around, her red fuzzy scales glistened in the sun as the Cat-Wyvern floated her noodle body around.

They knew about hunter the moment he passed New Auburn's welcome sign. They've got the whole city bugged these days. They're working with limited resources, sure, Eddie's still managed to keep the city running like a well-oiled machine. Got their sheriff for thank to that. She is, without a doubt, irreplaceable; smart and reliable and funny. Those are all traits worth admiring.

This hunter, though? Eddie's tracked him for a good twenty minutes now, and he's come to a pretty clear conclusion.

”He's kind of stupid, huh?” Eddie states. On the other end of the phone, Rachel bursts out laughing, and he has to smile with her. He leans against a brick wall, well-hidden by the bustling crowds on the street.

”Poor bastard,” she purrs when her laughter slows to a gravelly chuckle. ”Think they sent him to die? Gotta feed the fire, they'll get bored of ending us otherwise.” She pauses, and there's a lull in the conversation. She's debating if she should say anything, and Eddie gives him all the time he wants.

”You know, we've got one neonate stationed a mile away,” Rachel continues. Eddie shakes his head, but she can't see that now can she? So she keeps going. ”A lot better to risk him than – ”

”Nah, I'm going in,” the prince interrupts. He's already pushing away from the building, crossing the street. What the hell is Rachel gonna do, hm? Stop him? ”' Sides, if anyone's gonna charm this hunter off their feet, it's me.” Eddie ends the call before the sheriff can say another word. Honestly, he's a bit excited. Been a while since he got involved with the hunters.

Charming people isn't that simple. You can't just knock on someone's door, offer them a basket of fine cheeses. No, you need to be smart. You need to create a scene. So Eddie pulls his worn hood over his head and lets the dark circles around his eyes grow. There's something exhausted about his eyes, looking like he hasn't had a good night's rest in weeks. He's not his charming, usual self; instead, he comes across a disheveled mess. He walks around the house until he finds a locked backdoor and rattles it. Loudly. Lockpicking the window is just as noisy; he's a new burglar looking to get in, not expecting anyone to be home. And why should he? The damn place has been empty for a long time. The door cracks open, and Eddie lets out a shaky, flabbergasted giggle.

”Holy shit,” he whispers excitedly, playing the part. ”Didn't think that would work!”

Jay closed his journal with a loud clap, he placed it on the small coffee table and looked around the room.
To an untrained eye it looked like a normal house; fully furnished but full of nothing really valuable to steal. Underneath all of the fancy furnishings, very vague lines seemed to be etched into the walls of some of the rooms; hiding hidden doors and cupboards filled with Monster Hunting gear, things for every different known monster species; Vampires, Werebeasts, Orcs, Elves, Fae, Dragons and more.

Jay paused as he thought he heard the rattling of doors and windows. He readied himself, but in an unusual way to most hunters. He slipped off his gloves, revealing small runes that seemed to be burnt into his palms.
He stepped around the couch, now that is cloak was off is silver tank top shone in the sunlight.

Jay never had enough time to put on appropriate clothes when the Hunters shoved him out for this mission; his tank top was essentially what he was wearing when he woke up. Down his arms trailed the same burn-like runes; dotting down his arms and through the holes on his back, a large tattoo-like birthmark of what looked to be an X shone in the light.

"Hello?" Jay called out, not wanting to leave the room until he confirmed someone was there. Wyf stayed floating around him quietly, she twisted and wiggled as she floated around.
He waited for a moment, debating his mind on if he should step out to see who was coming in. The lounge was the first doorway in the hall, he would see the person no matter where they tried to go.
