I'm taking part in an Arena Tournament on another Discord and having quite a bit of fun with it. I want to see who else might be interested in participating in one.
The idea is 1 on 1 fights in varied arenas with judges to determine who wins. This means it is more important to write well, respect your opponents choices, and generally be entertaining than it is to out try-hard your opponent.
If I manage to get interest I'd also be trying to drum up some judges. The tournament I'm in has maybe 20 participants but I'm not sure if they'd all be interested in participating/able to participate in a forum Arena thread.
We have an Arena section but it is essentially dead so I figured I'd do a general check.
To give you an idea, I'm currently in an Arena RP thread which is similar to what happens in the tournament. In the tournament itself one round I was fighting a sort of Plague Goblin guy named Junk-Fist in a world run by essentially Looney Tunes rules. In Round 2 I got into a Rap Battle with that guy from Malibu's Most Wanted. He turned out to be my son and we both tried to knock each other out with one big punch.
Both those rounds went to a judges decision.
