The sound of squeaky wheels rolled through the halls of the Library; Like an old trolley that hadn’t been properly oiled in
ages. The noise seemed to grow louder as it drew near to Lark and River… until at last the source of the noise presented itself by turning a corner into their section.
It was, in fact, a book trolly. A left over piece of equipment from when the Library had actually served as a library. But despite the gloomy, haunted atmosphere it wasn’t moving alone. A young man in his early to mid twenties was behind it, gloved hands gripping the somewhat rusted and flaky handle.
Looking at the pair, the rather pale man blinked for a moment… before quipping “You know, the two of you make enough noise that you could wake the dead.”
