I've been a part of the guild since '09 and have been roleplaying in various forms of media for just under twenty years now. I typically approach my writing projects from the mind of a GM meaning I will be responsible for the larger share of world building and will pilot most NPCs surrounding our characters. I work full time and have a family, so I may not always be immediately available for communication or a quick IC reply. For OOC, I primarily use Discord. Fair warning that outside the confines of RP, I may not be the most interesting person in the room. I have incredibly mundane taste in all things and am too stupid to have intellectual conversations on anything other than pizza. The topics covered in these worlds will be mature in nature, so any interested parties must be 18 years or older. These will be long-term writing projects that may or may not be a part of a larger world that I hope to launch as a group game in the future. I'm seeking a dedicated writing partner who will be willing to worldbuild with me. Who is not afraid to drive the plot forward with their own ideas. There will be no requirement to act as a Co-Gm should any of the plots move forward to include other players. I am open to writing smut or fading to black and am kink friendly. Please let me know what you do and do not prefer and more importantly, what if anything you're interested in exploring. Communication is important. While these plots were curated by me, it's also very important that any story we pursue caters to my writing partner's wants and needs as well. The first two plots are not meant to center on explicit scenes while the last three lean more into it, but all are built around deeper relationships that unfold somewhat naturally over time. This is your typical urban fantasy game with some healthy additions from various works of fiction that I personally enjoy. The lore here is also not set in stone and can be adjusted in various ways if it does not make sense or to better suit the story we want to write. What is provided here is just a starting point. Magic has been a part of the world for a very long time, and yet most of the world remains largely ignorant to its presence. Vampires, werewolves, fae and elves and dragons. All of it exists, but all of it has been hidden away, assimilated into the cultures of the world as no more than folklore and fairy tales; the result of an agreement between the creatures of fantasy and the world of man established millennia ago. In the modern day, while magic continues to exist in the world, it does so in secret and under strict regulation. A license to reside in the world must be obtained and continuously updated with any and all changes to living arrangements, work and/or education history and modification to public identification. Failure to do so, or any criminal acts of any kind, could result in special incarceration, deportation to Avelion or in extreme cases, death. Everyone who is of a race other than human, and even humans who have learned to use magic, must carry these licenses on their person at all times. Avelion is the 'other side'; a seemingly separate dimension where magic and fantasy seems to originate from and very often leaks into the real world. There are official doorways between these worlds, and like airports between countries or checkpoints at borders, these doorways are heavily regulated. The process of moving between worlds is strict. 'Hunters' who work for guilds from both worlds do everything from investigation into suspicious activity from magical or fantastical creatures in the real world, to hunting dangerous monsters in Avelion. The members of these guilds are comprised of beings of all races, even humans who have not mastered magic. They are all ranked by skill and class and have special license to operate where they must. Special care is often taken while in the real world so as to not upset the fragile curtain of ignorance that has been placed over the wider population. The more powerful nations of the world host a single public guild, but private guilds do exist. The same principle applies to Avelion. Plot. We will be playing members of one of the guilds who are tasked with investigating a strange murder case. While the lore has been set for parts of this world, the wider world is a blank slate and open for collaborative world-building. I would also like to point out that this is a test of the world and will most likely be used as a jumping off point for a group game in the future. |

More than just the immaterial manifestations of thoughts and wishes or of our fears and regrets. More than a revisiting of every memory of our past lives. Sometimes that weightless, blissful, private place we visit when we lay our head down at night isn’t a space made just for you. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Sometimes, those dreams are doorways to other places or glimpses into another universe or a mote of infinite possibility. These dreams are different. Powerful. Powerful enough to pull that other place here or thrust that dreamless someone there and sometimes, they’re powerful enough to grant that wish buried deep in someone’s heart. Most people go their entire lives unaware of the deeper layer of their dreams, but there are a few who find they can tap into them. Weave themselves into the layers of their thoughts and imagination and draw from it a power they can wield. These people are called Lucids and they are responsible for travelling between dream worlds and protecting others from their fears, regrets and the traumas they’ve suffered that continue to haunt them. Regardless of what led to them becoming aware of the dreamweave, whether that be a near death experience or the surviving or witnessing of some traumatic event, they’ve all been left with the choice to either use their powers for good or evil. Plot. Pulling strong inspiration from Wonder Egg Priority (the first half of the season), this is meant to be a strange mix of dark fantasy and a light hearted slice of life coming of age story. The themes will clash and at times not make sense, not unlike a dream. Due to the age of most of the characters, there will be no explicit scenes of sex, but we can explore other mature themes such as the effects of addiction on loved ones, suicide, etc. The deeper concepts of this story are still a little messy but the starting point has a strong enough foundation that we can build from the basic premise. We start with two individuals discovering they're Lucids and very quickly finding out that they are not the only ones in their school. They must grapple with their new responsibility while also struggling with their own demons and together with the others, discover what this new world they're a part of is and where they belong in it. Like Avelion, this plot will be used as a test of the world and to help iron out the finer details for a potential group game in the future. |

To make things easy, Avelion (from the first plot) can be used as a backup world in case one cannot be created. Otherwise, the specifics of the world can be filled in collaboratively to better suit the type of story we would like to tell. The plot below is not immediately connected to Avelion but can be worked into if need be. Plot. Your father has been acting strange of late, increasingly so as the year draws ever closer to your birthday. At first it was subtle, but as the months wore on, his need to protect you from some perceived danger began bordering on an obsession. It's been strange, adjusting to the sudden isolation under heavy guard and a restriction of your movements. For days now you've been forced to look upon the same walls, greet the same faces, and stare endlessly at the morning's blue sky and the late evening's starry night. You're starting to feel restless as a need to return to earlier days of sun and freedom itches at you desperately. You miss the trees. The sea of people beyond the walls of the castle. The view of the ocean from the top of the outer walls of the kingdom. For some small amount of relief (or frustration), your father has hired a new personal guard meant for you. But despite the excitement of meeting another face for the first time in what feels like forever, in the back of your mind, you can't help but feel like something is changing, for why else have you been locked away like so. Alternate. We can tool this plot any number of different ways and change the specific pairing while keeping the same DNA of a King and his daughter. Instead of being locked away, you could have influence. Your word could hold weight and maybe much is expected of you in your immediate future. Perhaps these are your last few years of freedom before the yoke of rule or responsibility is placed upon you. Perhaps you've already taken up this mantle and struggle under the weight of it all. Or maybe, you excel in your position of power like you always knew you would. Whatever form the story takes, I will be playing your right hand man. Your protector. Maybe it's my first day and I was chosen for you by someone else. Maybe you picked me out from a selection of other qualified men to be your charge. Whatever the reason may be, I am yours to use as you see fit. I am also happy to accommodate a story that maybe you've worked on that borrows similar elements. |

The foundation for this story is less rigid than the rest and is more a collection of ideas I intend to use to build a writing project with. Whatever form that story takes, the core of it I would like to keep intact, that being the relationship and power dynamic surrounding it. There is no concrete setting. Again, Avelion can be used as the backdrop of our world. I do have a plot point in place should we choose to go this route. However, we can just as easily scrub any fantasy elements from the game and make this story work on its own. Regardless of which path we choose, the wider world around both characters is open for collaborative worldbuilding. At its most basic, two individuals on opposite sides end up under the same roof and must work through the maze of living together while navigating their own complex and very dangerous lives. They are both highly skilled at what they do. Although the specific skill set does not need to be lethal, given the nature of their work, what the skill set is must remain a secret. The 'why' they are under the same roof has not yet been worked out. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Alternate. Our two characters can begin the story working for the same agency and must work to complete their mission together. They would not necessarily need to be familiar with each other before the start of the story. Beyond that, there isn't really a specific structure we need to follow to do this and the setting, including time, does not need to be set in the modern day. If there is a specific period of history you would like to explore or a different setting altogether including something more science fiction and futuristic, I am open to exploring those ideas with you and putting together a story for it. |

However, the core of this is something I've been wanting to write for a while now. You can look at this as a simple set dressing swap of The King's Daughter. Set in the modern day, I play a character who is in some position of power, whether that position was inherited by right of birth or a stroke of luck or some other means. The rest is up to us to decide. As a basic premise, you could play a character hired as my assistant whose modest beginnings puts you at odds with the lavish lifestyle I seemingly take for granted. Initially, and very understandably so, impressions of each other will be less than desirable although given the professional relationship we remain in close proximity. Over time, we learn more about the deeper layers of our past and retread the interesting paths we took that led us to each other. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Despite not having a clear path forward, I am most interested in exploring the deeper layers of the relationship given the character's varying pasts. This means we'll be diving not just into my character's history but yours as well and building the world and story out from there in essentially two directions. I want interesting interactions as they introduce each other to parts of their lives that are foreign to the other. I want unique perspectives that shed new light on problems either of our characters couldn't solve on their own. I want a natural built trust woven around them like a safety net so they have something to fall back on when they begin to explore the deeper, darker, more personal sides of each other. |
