Ari swallowed. 'Um. Sunday Haze, Citrus, On A Boat, um.. Seventeen Candles, I really like the chorus on that, um, I'm in Love With You, um, Nasty--or Naz-ty, I don't know how to pronounce that and I think my record was weird and I couldn't make it out--it was really scratchy, um--'

He paused and then continued, 'Livewire, Crazy Pretender, Edge of.. yeah.' Ari sighed. 'I mean Overdrive is fine and all but I think on the record you just put out there's a lot stronger material. And besides I bet you can't name any song that I put out besides "Nagasaki", "The Coffin", "Castle of Broken Dreams", "Army of Me", and "Live For Me (Die For Me)" anyways, um...'

Ari continues talking mostly to himself about his music, 'Um, well maybe you can, but Live For Me was like the fucking worst song on King, like-- fucking "Purple Skies" was way better and of course there was "(Oh, My) King" which was okay I guess but I could have done a lot better on it...' Ari groans and begins talking faster, on the verge of breaking down at this point, 'A-and... and I feel like a piece of utter shit because there were only seven songs on King a-and two of them were remixes and and and I'm performing a lot of my old material when I really should have recorded more songs for i-it and...'

'God...'

Violet smiled "I felt the same way when I recorded British Invaders, and I believe the worst song I made on there was No Man's Daughter, god, I hate that song and Overdrive." Violet scratched at her neck, a nervous habit she developed when she was actually talking with someone she was interested in.

'Yeah, um, it's really weird what songs get popular from someone and what songs, um... rot and die. I think Overdrive is okay, it's um... really good at fifteen of course, but... yeah...'

Ari sighed. 'I guess I'm not helping myself by performing old material. I still need to fucking record and get the thing done by September and I'm barely even fucking done... and with the fucking tour...'

His stomach makes a weird noise. Every second he's rotting in here is taking away from meeting his fans and talking with his staff and just sleeping...

Violet put a hand on his shoulder, "It's easy for you to say, my first album took me two years to record." she quickly took her hand off his shoulder and blushed again.

'Oh--' Ari flinched slightly as Violet put her hands on his shoulder. He looked away and shook his head, stretching slightly. 'I know, I know... it took me like three months to record the first one... and then two for the second.. and then three for this last one. Maybe it'll be a fucking banger again since I have such a fucking short deadline for this one...'

Ari sighed. 'And everyone just fucking cancelled all the cool duets and collaborations and shit I had planned because of the world tour and the blanket...' The blanket of course referring to the incident at the 1990 Grammy Award ceremony where he got into a fistfight because someone tried to steal his blanket and he got kicked out and still won Record of the Year, Album of the Year, among two other awards...

Speaking of, where was his blanket?... Fuck! He left it in Georgia. Now he knows why he feels so uneasy. Great. He groans slightly at the realization.

"Oh, I remember watching the Grammys on TV, honestly made me fall in-" Violet slapped herself before she could say "love", but, yes, she did have a crush on him for a long time.

'...Fall in what?' Ari turned his gaze and for the first time actually looked in Violet's eyes. For a moment atleast, because he looks away but still looks in her general direction.

"Nothing..." she mumbled.

'No, but you were obviously going to say something, what is it..?' Ari genuinly asks.

Despite his uncertanties and anxieties he thinks it might be a crush? But then again it could be a million other things, and Ari feels horrible for thinking that. How egocentric can he be..?

"I swear, it's nothing." Violet's voice raised a bit, she always used it as a defense mechanism when someone called her out.

'Are you sure..?' Ari timidly asks. He doesn't want to get yelled at, but he still is really curious and mildly suspicious.

Violet's eyes darted around. "Fine, I meant to say I fell in love.."

'You... you fell in love...?' Ari asked, actually bewildered that that was the actual case.

Ari felt weird. 'You're like all the groupies and shit who sent me death threats after I came out as gay a couple of years ago...' Ari chuckled to himself, recalling the stress that he felt after all of that happened. The KKK sent him public death threats. Death threats got mailed to his friend's house intended for him. He got denounced by an Idahoan senator, the works.

'Um... sorry for pushing it then... I... you're cool too, I really like your music...'

"You too." Violet's blush intensified.

'Um...'

Ari grinned slightly. He looked away, hiding a blush on his part. 'Um, thanks, man. I don't really like it but I guess that's because I have no self-esteem. Thanks a lot..'

"Heh, I have no self-esteem, I don't think I'm even pretty. People like me for the body, and rarely, the music." Violet shrugged.

Ari starts speaking faster than he was before. He was getting a little excited, because she actually seemed easy to talk to. A lot of people he knew he had to really put effort into the conversation in how to phrase things, but he felt freer with Violet. Interesting. 'Well, I think you are. You look fine. You got the whole, um... grunge-kinda look with the punk look too... it kind of reminds me of the 70s -- go figure -- looks cool. You look like Michael Jackson on Bad, kind of.'

'If it weren't for the tour I'd ask you to collaborate on my next record I'm making... maybe if there's a couple of days that we aren't playing, maybe...' Ari shrugged.

Violet blushed some more at Ari's compliment. "You're pretty, too, if I say so myself. Good enough to kiss the hell out of, really."

'..Oh! Erm...' Ari giggles lightly and blushes more. A complement that even his ex never gave him. Damn. 'Thanks..? I--'

'Wow...'

"Mind if I kiss you now?" Violet asked with a soft smile.
