It is a cool, early autumn morning as you crest the ridge to peer down at the valley below. The biting wind is unforgiving as it nips at your cheeks, but it is to be expected from this height. The trapse through the badlands to reach this eerie place took four hours from the nearest settlement, and you had left early to make the most of the daylight.

You see before you the meandering mists that drift unceremoniously through the landscape. You see large stone doors squatting against old Barrowmounds. Some are broken, others fully sealed. In the distance, mausoleums rise up on small hillocs within the valley. The cliff edges are peppered with craggy trails that lead up to naturally formed caves and ruined archways, sitting hautily above the swirling fogs below. From this height, you can even see the mists drift through a stone henge that sits towards the middle of the valley.

You take a moment to catch your bearings. There is a trail in front of you that zig zags down to the valley below. A cave sits close to the first bend of the trail.

HOW DO YOU PROCEED?
► Walk down the craggy path to the valley below (20 minutes)
► Walk down the craggy path to the bend, investigating the cave (10 minutes)
► Detour to the East to inspect a different trail, leading slightly deeper into the valley (30 minutes)
► Detour to the West to inspect a different trail, leading deeper into the middle of the valley (1 hour)
► Leave the Valley of the Dead (2 hours to the rest stop, 4 hours back to town))
► Something else...

It is currently 10am.
You are well fed, rested and able.
You have not met any other adventurers.
None of the denizens of the Valley of the Dead know you are here.

OOC: Feel free to get your bearings. More information is available to be discovered, and more actions are always available to be taken depending on what you'd like to do, just like in D&D.

I request that at the start of your post, you put a right hand arrow symbol, >. If you are ready for a GM post, type Ready (this will ensure I don't interrupt conversations your characters may be having, or let the IC drag on without realizing you both might be waiting on me) and then type the 'How do you proceed' action you wish to do. You can also chat IC or OOC about what you would like to do, or proposition an action not in the list. I will be more then happy to oblige.

Let the Adventure begin!
