The city of Aesis lies on the border of the eastern empire and ryke, housing many who don't quite agree with the stances of their home, yet don't want to leave it. It is a city of those that javelin a shame in their past or just want to get away from their past. A few ex gladiators call this place home having retired from the area either due to age or injury. One such gladiator is Paulus Vitus who retired to have a family with Fasia Fucisa. He had even written to two of his old friends to come visit his home though the handwriting was shaky and certain words seemed more emphasized than others. Still there were plenty of reasons for this to happen, perhaps illness, perhaps mental stresses, or even just kids disturbing him.

Valaya had ended up traveling with the ex gladiators and surprisingly or well unsurprisingly a merchant. Said merchant didn't have alcohol so she wasn't interested, a blacksmith like any human could be as good as earthborn, it was just like their beer weak. She had ridden like the others, the ride boring, not even some bandits to fight. She had thought maybe with that hive thing nearby she might find some good fighting and a good doom. So far she had found nothing, but she would hang around in town for a few days before leaving if nothing interesting happened. The city itself looked rather normal shoddy human work of course her earthborn eye could see the screw ups or lacking finish not readily apparent to the human eye. The cart the bunch had been riding in came to a stop just before the gates to the city though there were no guards to greet them as expected. Well that made life easier no black orb testing no questions or people questioning why Valaya called everything human work.

So you two said you have a friend that lives here she asked looking into the open gates and seeing the place had an odd feeling about it, something off yet not apparent. She felt would be bad for any of them to wander off alone.

The ride to the city was rather uneventful. Perhaps the sight of the strong ex gladiator and company was enough of a deterrent to keep would be bandits at bay. While the gladiator didn’t show much interest in him, he knew that her kind usually had influential friends. His nose smelled opportunity.

Marcus looked rather comical being a five foot tall bald man walking to the front gates surrounded by his five massive guards standing eight feet tall weighing four hundred pounds. He looked around and his instincts were telling him that something was off. “Looks like you’ve scared away the welcoming party. Hopefully this ‘friend’ is home.”

It was a calm walk at least for Varius, watching the foliage move with the winds as he walked with those around him now. "Yeah, here to see them seemed like an urgent meeting. " Varius commented as he looked amongst the other people on the side of the city, his sandals softly click with each step.

Möhr Had been sleeping fitfully in the wagon when the bumpy terrain gave way to smother streets. Incidentally it was that very same loss of jostling movement that would bring him to the world of the waking. He would climb out of the wagon causing it to wobble noticeably though not enough to be of any concern to the wagons owner, who was his current employer. Sure he wasnt the only guard there, but the other Five were not particularly sharp, couldnt read the room like Möhr could, and he wagered they couldn’t hit quite as good as him. But he wasnt one known for being right…he was more known for his left.

Seems like we left da sticks, Whys we waitin around?” He would announce in a tone that was equal parts sarcasm and bemusement. His gaze sweeping across his employer and the two traveling companions gathered there.

Valaya looked about the town and seemed it fine as the others spoke, she had just kind of come along because she was heading this way. The east empire didn't have the greatest reputation being human supremists, you would think they were elves with their pride. It was odd that there were no guards in a city, but wellmanpower was at a premium. Still something felt off, Calaya couldn't put her finger on it and as the group walked into the city and she heard the splash of water and felt warm liquid on her feet she looked up. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, but the ground around the city gate was wet as if it had just rained.

yeah well something about this place makes my spine shiver. It's too boring, there's no doom here” Valaya said dismissively of the city and her own feelings. “Still something's telling me we shouldn't be going out alone. How about we all stick together?” She offered not sounding scared but more confused abd on guard.

Marcus looked around and felt the same uneasy feeling. Something definitely wasn’t right. He looked at his guards. ”Agreed. Nobody wander off alone or interact with anyone without myself present. I don’t know what’s going , but we should be careful. Let’s head in and see if there’s an inn where we can get some information about what’s going on.”He started walking into the city.

Varius nodded as he's stand on guard amongst the others his hand resting on his gladius "Just relax and walk with purpose. Don't give anyone a reason to try and come up on you. Most people here would rather skin a rat than mess with you. Just don't show weakness and it'll be alright" Varius continues on, his eyes facing forward as his battle skirt softly shifted with each step he took.
