She is short of stature, but not lacking a strong presence. Lineage 17th Generation Type Exorcist Power Ki | P E R S O N A L I T Y - K I N D L Y A R R O G A N C E P E R S O N A L I T Y - K I N D L Y A R R O G A N C E Hitomi never had any expectations of greatness. There was no great trauma that unlocked her latent abilities, no training that pushed her body to the limit, and no negative interpersonal relationship with her family. She is the rare one-in-one-hundred case of it all coming to her like second nature. It is through that result that resentments have built towards her from other people, other magi, but she never has thought of any person with malice, envy, or disdain. A targeted insult to Hitomi’s person is received and returned with kindness, patience, and generally indifference. In that way, she could be called a happy person. That can be frustrating to some. Perhaps that is why she is envied by many, a bright light in a dark unbridled world. The light of the Oda Clan. “Huh? What do you mean?” There is also consideration that Hitomi is talented, but not really disciplined. Her warmth and talent are her principal traits, but overall, she struggles with paying attention to things of a social nature. In her childhood, her masters found her inability to pay attention to their lessons incredibly exhausting, especially once pressed on the matter, which she’d simply explain that she didn’t need to. Her aptitude with her abilities was practical, she figured it out on her own, and with little need for instruction. This indeed improved with time as she got older, but not to the level one would think. The absurdity was if she actually honed her discipline like her peers, she’d even be greater than she already was. But for Hitomi, life was something she coasted through one foot at a time and not one of a deep desire to be the best. And she’s okay with that. B A C K S T O R Y - T H E P R O D I G Y B A C K S T O R Y - T H E P R O D I G Y Dating back to the 13th Century, the Oda Clan has long been a fixture in Japanese history as strong leaders, tacticians, and intellectual savants. Hitomi is the daughter of Masahiro and Meisa. Along with her many cousins and her older brother, Hayato, she makes up the current generation of Oda Clan magi in service to protecting Japan from threats seen and unseen, dubious and material, esoteric and mundane. And from a young age, it was clear that she was more adept and talented than her brother or their fourteen cousins. It was not the result that was expected. At ten years old, she was the youngest member of Tasogare. By twelve, she had been promoted to handling missions independently. By the time she was sixteen she had performed over a hundred exorcisms. Hitomi wasn’t just a freak of nature and a glowing achievement of the Oda Clan. She was something else. She was Tasogare. Her natural talent created barriers, wilted feathers of long-standing members of the organization, and eventually that sturdy foundation of hers began to lose a few bricks. She appeared carefree, either oblivious to the fact or willfully ignoring it. How far could she fly before she flew too close to the sun? C H A R A C T E R A R C C H A R A C T E R A R C Upon meeting an ancient Moloch, Hitomi is infected by the creature and her life spirals out of control. Those who had benefited from her talents as a magi come after her as she tries to wrestle with ways to fight her own innate fears and control her fate. |

This comes with her Spider-Sense, spider-like equilibrium, and peak human conditioning as well as super strength. ◼ Espionage & Stealth You’ve got to know how to stay quiet and in the rafters to get the drop on some bad guys. Though even Gwen has a bad time predicting when the best time to reveal herself is. ◼ Scrappy Combatant Gwen’s experience with fighting before starting her crime-fighting career was largely nonexistent. She had gotten into a few fights with other girls in the past, but generally speaking most of her fighting form was from watching gaudy Hong Kong action films from forty years ago. This largely makes her fighting style unpredictable. ◼ Science Prodigy Gwen is one of the sharpest young minds in the field of chemistry including metabiology (the study of the metagene), biochemistry, and chemical engineering. ◼ Tactical Analysis & Investigation As the daughter of a NYPD officer, Gwen is quick to pick up on aspects of criminology and investigation. Five years ago, I was bitten by a genetically modified spider engineered by OsCorp Industries. It changed my life. When I was in High School, I was kind of a wallflower. The friends I did have could probably fit at a single circular table in the school cafeteria. I drifted between two worlds, the art clique and the geek clique. We didn’t do sports. We built things, spat out ink on a page, and imagined a world better than the one we were in. At the center of that was one guy: Peter Parker. When we met, his mom and dad weren’t around anymore. I had just lost my mom. The angst drew us together, but we really stayed for the science. It was like we were meant to be friends. Maybe meant to be more. I don’t know. It’s something I think about, especially with a lot of what’s happened since high school in the rear view. He was the only one who picked up on things but he was always the last one to speak up. I think becoming a superhero ruined our relationship. I couldn’t handle being Spider-Woman, Peter Parker’s girlfriend, a scientific genius every college wanted, and the daughter of Captain George Stacy all at once. It broke me. I grew distant, angry, and lost. I’m still angry, if you believe the papers about the dangers of the Spider-Menace. The Daily Bugle also says I’m irresponsible, incompetent, and a threat to the safety of every person in New York City. It’s something I read every day and if I don’t read it I hear it, because the guy who runs it also loves to hear himself speak on his podcast. It’s daunting. But I have to continue fighting. Living by my father’s example. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) Yeah, I’m thinking I’m back. Gwen Stacy’s run as Ghost Spider/Spider-Woman is an interesting one. In my first move in my return to Worlds Collide I am interpreting her alongside Half Pint’s take on Otto Octavius. The idea is to share Spider-Man legacy worldbuilding as we play off each other and see events unfold in a shared universe. I’ve spoken with him and he seems favorable to such collaboration. So I am interested into giving it a good college try. N O T E S N O T E S |
