she sees the body part and freezes
"I didn't kill that guy, I promise."
she walks up to the wheel and pulls on the arm
"What? Maybe there's rest of him there"
(don't kill off Liza this early plz)

Kimberly stared.

For a moment.

Then another.

"Liza."

A pause.

"Liza, stop pulling mysterious forest arm."

She immediately grabbed the back of Liza's jacket and tried to drag her away from the wheel.

"What is wrong with you?"

The rain pattered softly around them.

Kimberly's earlier amusement was completely gone now.

The shape beneath the wheel looked far too human.

Far too recent.

"Seriously."

She pointed at it.

"Normal people see detached arm and walk away."

A beat.

"You see detached arm and decide to investigate it personally."

Another tug on Liza's jacket.

"Back."

Kimberly's eyes swept the tree line.

The woods suddenly felt a lot quieter.

And that made her nervous.

"Come on."

Her voice dropped.

"Something about this is not right."

For the first time all day, Kimberly wasn't joking.

"Get back in the van." ( Im not going to kill anyone off yet omg)

@Kimberly(no offence meant, this was one of those dumb ideas that ussually has a body count)
"Something intresting finally happened and I'm suppossed to sit in the car? pigs will fly before that."
she gets back to the trunk
"you have a jack here? And detatched arms ussually don't punch you, but can have a free watch..."
she comes back to the wheel leaving the trunk open
"Something? I think it's clear, arms supposed to have the rest of the guy attached"
she checks the hood for damage
"Maybe, we should leave before the "roadkil"'s family sees this and calls the cops on you."

(ouch ...i was just trying to set the spooky mood , considering there's only two of us i think it would be stupid to kill someone off)
Kimberly closed her eyes.

Just for a second. The kind of pause people take when reconsidering every life choice that led them here.
Then she pointed at Liza.

"No."

A beat.

"No jacks. No watches. No scavenging mystery corpse."

She marched over and physically put herself between Liza and the wheel.

"What is this obsession with touching things?"

Rain dripped from her purple hair as she crossed her arms.

"You do realize every horror movie starts with somebody saying, 'I should investigate this,' right?"

Kimberly glanced at the arm.

Then at the dark woods.

Then back at Liza.

"Im calling cops then driving us to town its only minute away"

"So does every treasure hunting movie"
she crossed her arms and took a step back pretending to be really upset
"Someone wants to do all the dangerous parts for you and you still complain..."
she looks at the woods in the same spot as kimberly
"I don't see anything. And, what do you think the cops will think after finding you in the woods away from civilisation with a a corpse under your car and a escaped jail bird?"(if Liza having a "intresting past" messes with the story, I can change it)
she hand Kimberly the phone
"Fine, call if you have to, but you're going to be rotting there until you're retired"

Kimberly stared at the phone for a moment.

Then sighed.

A long, tired sigh.

"...Right."

She shoved it back into her pocket.

"No police."

A beat.

"I am not explaining dead body and escaped convict in same conversation."

She pointed at Liza.

"But if this goes horribly wrong, I want it on record that I was against this from beginning."

Kimberly glanced at the arm and sighs "what do we do though?" (i think that detail is super cool actualy)

@Kimberly"You have a shovel? arm or full corpse, it's rude to leave corpses un buried"
she jumps into the trunk to look for a shovel
"it's kinda dark here... do you have a flash light?"

"No police? Seriously?" Colt asked. He was stood a few feet away, arms crossed, looking as though he'd been majorly inconvenienced by the stop. "Just when I thought something sensible was going to happen."
He looked at the arm from where he stood, phone light shining bright on it. He wasn't interested in getting close enough to touch it - cause of fingerprints, obviously - or to risk leaving any sort of accidental trace that might connect him to the body. Aside from being present in the van, but he wasn't the driver.
"It's possible he was already dead." Colt suggested. "It's her own fault she's an escaped convict." he tilted his head towards Liza, "She's lucky I've not turned her in already. Or we can leave it and roll into town with blood on the van, I'm sure that won't look suspicious at all."
He started to dial. If they wouldn't, then he would.

Kimberly let out a long sigh.

"Fine. Move."

She snatched both the shovel from under the seat and the flashlight from her purse before Liza could get any ideas.

"You are absolutely not doing it by yourself."

The flashlight flickered on, casting long shadows through the trees.
Kimberly tightened her grip on the shovel and stepped toward the wheel.

"If ghost attacks us, I'm blaming you."

A beat.

"If serial killer attacks us, also blaming you."

She shined the light toward the half-buried arm.

"...And if this turns out to be mannequin, I'm definitely blaming you."

"I know everything is my fault, I bet that rain too"
Liza pulls out the arm and shows it
"So, where do we bury it?"
she drops it
"I forgot no touching, I guess we have to bury it via bluetooth."

@MintRolls Kimberly stared at Colt for a moment.

Then threw the shovel onto the ground.

"Fine."

A beat.

"We call police."

She pointed at the arm.

"Happy now?"

Then she immediately turned and pointed at Liza.

"You."

Another point.

"Trunk."

A pause.

"Now."

Kimberly crossed her arms.

"I am not explaining corpse and escaped convict in same conversation."

She jerked her thumb toward the open trunk.

"Go hide."

Some sense. Colt held the phone to his ear as the line rang. Once, twice...
"911, what is your emergency?"
"Hi, we think we may have hit a corpse in the middle of the road. The woods just outside Black Hollow-" the line cut off. Colt swore, and dialled again,
"911, what is your emergency?"
"Hi, I just got cut off a moment ago, we may have hit a corpse in the middle of the road."
"Oh I'm sorry, where is your location?"
"Just outside Black Hollow." The line dropped again.

"...Anyone have the number for the local police department?"

Kimberly frowned.

"...Okay. That's creepy."

She looked toward the woods.

"Try again."

A pause.

"If it hangs up third time, we're leaving."

He huffed a bit, but did so, putting his phone on speaker so that the other two could hear as well.
"911, what's your emergency?"
"There's a corpse in the middle of the road."
"What's your location?"
"In the woods, just east of Black Hollow."
Silence.

"Well either signal is abysmal here, or no one wants to know about Black Hollow." Colt commented. He had to admit, even just to himself, that it was incredibly odd. Almost as if something didn't want to draw attention even close to the town.

Kimberly stared at the phone.

Then toward the road.

Then the woods.

"...Yeah."

A beat.

"I officially don't like this anymore."

She tightened her grip on the flashlight.

"Let's just get to town."

Another pause.

"And maybe stop finding body parts on the way."
