"Whatever." Lara had mumbled. She didn't get herself involved with looking particularly hard at the young man's identity. It didn't really mean much to her. Maybe she just didn't understand. Or want to. She was more annoyed that there was no way she'd be able to come back to the office, she was definitely getting fired. Just as things had seemed like they were going to go her way, fate just had to make it take a sharp turn a different way. Sure, she hated the job, but at least it was a job. And normal. A normal life. Life transfer. It sounded insane to hear it out loud. "It did." Lara confirmed, still quite testily.
Lara wasn't sure where she was headed. Out the building. Away from here. Home maybe? She listened as the other woman, who had now introduced herself as Gabriella, answered her. Lara tried to be resistant to reason. Maybe it was more comfortable to be in denial and annoyed. Divine intuition. Well that explained things a little. It annoyed her that Gabriella was right. Her divine intuition was telling her, confirming to her, that Athena's successor was no threat and could be trusted. That didn't mean she was going to be nice, though. She mulled things over for a while, an internal battle between giving in or putting up a fight. "Fine. Lara Kairos. You already know the rest." She finally answered, as they were leaving the building.
"So. Now what?" Lara asked, but she already had an idea. Something, the intuition, was telling her that they needed to go elsewhere. Somewhere far.

"I'm still deciding, sorry." Calista said to the bartender, when asked what she wanted to order. The bartender moved on to the next customer. She had no intentions to order anything, she was just trying to figure out why she'd been guided here. Then, she sensed it. She looked across the bar, a young man that was finishing up a drink and was ordering a second one. Careless and unaware of what he was destined for. And he looked over at her, so Calista glanced away, but that pretty much confirmed things for her. There was just the question of what was going to happen. The bar was busy, even regular humans would have the perception to notice if something attacked the bar.
She looked at the young man again, and saw that he seemed to have spotted something outside. She followed his gaze out the window, catching sight of a moving shadow that no doubt would have trouble attached. Calista got up from her seat and went outside too. If this was the moment she was anticipating, then she had better ensure she was there to lend a helping hand.
Once outside, Calista summons her sceptre, still not quite able to believe that she was granted possession of such a beautiful weapon. She assessed the situation. The charging minotaur, and suddenly, a blink and the young man was holding quite an interesting object, managing to redirect the minotaur before he was impaled. She looked around, trying to find something she could use to deter the minotaur. She wasn't sure about the limitations of her powers. Ah - how about that traffic cone? So it wasn't necessarily the greatest of objects, but with her telekinesis, she hit the minotaur on the head with it. The minotaur huffed, sharply turning its attention towards her.
"Calista Perry. Let's see if we can't figure this out together, alright?" She introduced herself to the young man. Then, she held her sceptre against the ground, tilting it towards the minotaur as she attempted to telepathically suggest to it to leave. The minotaur, however, seemed able to resist it this time, so Calista looked around for something else to throw at the minotaur.
Colt let the other two have their teasing conversation, while he grabbed his bag, a camera and boom mic. He followed, scoffing at the decrepit buildings and empty streets. To no one's surprise, he wasn't convinced of anything paranormal. It just seemed like a town that wasn't funded enough to be updated.
The hotel was just as rundown. He wrinkled his nose slightly. "I wondered why there weren't any photos of this place online." Colt commented. "Can't say I've ever stayed in a zero star hotel before."
"I'll hold you both to that. One apology when it turns out ghosts are indeed not real." Colt raised an eyebrow at Liza, who seemed to be getting more unsettled. Perhaps... not as excited as she had been acting the entire journey? "Unfortunately, you're stuck with me too. We'll find out what is going on." His tone was cold, as usual, and while he wasn't particularly nice, he wasn't unkind or cruel.
"Yeah, yeah," Colt muttered, "ghosts don't exist so it makes no difference whether they supposedly like me or not." He scoffed. "Whatever will I do, not being up to a ghost's standards?" he asked, sarcastically. The sooner they got into Black Hollow and were parked up, the better. Maybe he'd get a chance to have a look around by himself, even just to film some b-roll.
Next round of posting has started. I'd like to do the timeskip either after this round or the next one (maybe even the one after if we need it to help wrap up the interactions) to the full group meeting, but we'll see how we go.

It happened fast. Lara had refocused on her attacker, figuring she could deal with the second person in a moment. While he was dazzled, she'd started to reach out, something telling her that part of her newfound power involved making contact with the exposed skin. She grabbed his wrist, unsure what to expect, but the effect was quick. It was as if energy was slowly being drained from the young man. Her lantern glowed brighter as she did so, until she let go after a few seconds, the attacker visibly somewhat weaker. Then, she started to feel reinvigorated, her wound healing itself before her eyes and the light in the lantern dimmed. As she stared, not quite able to believe what had just happened, the other person, a young woman ran out from under a desk, hitting the man on the head with a shield. Not unconscious, but certainly rendered unable to move for the time being. Lara withdrew her hand, but was ready to take a swing with her lantern, in case the intended target had actually meant to be herself.
"Persephone. Right? We need to go. Now."
While it was the logical thing to do, and Lara had certainly intended to leave as soon as the opportunity had presented itself, she did not take kindly to being told what to do. She prickled. The thought that it was a ruse to get her to trust the other woman crossed Lara's mind. She couldn't be quite sure of anything right now. "I had that." Lara grumbled, looking at the shield the other woman had used. It was impressive, honestly. More so than the lantern she had, she thought, bitterly.
She walked, leaving the office, but kept her guard up. She had to be ready to fight in case she was attacked again. "So who are you? Why should I trust you?" Lara asked, challenging, making it clear that she was not going to easily accept any explanation and was more being difficult than anything else.
In the back of Lara's mind, however, now that the excitement of the fight was over, it was clearer that she was another of the Godly successors. Someone that could, in fact, be trusted, if Lara could swallow her pride.
