Qanaxma Deniz is pretty accepting of other nations, provided they don't do anything purposely antagonist (like HelCore). Though you are expected to follow Kisil Qanaxma laws when in Qanaxma Deniz. That means if any diplomats from a slave-owning nation bring some slaves with them, the slaves are free men as soon as they set foot on Kisil Qanaxma soil. Officially at least.

Why don't you travel to Fortitude and buy people some freedom?

Okay, if you can tell that this: is the Lord's Prayer without being told that, then that's not normal. That's really impressive. Especially if you can pronounce all of that too.

Anyone can get Father, Forgive, Heaven, and And out of that

Not necessarily. They might just assume that's what it means, but they wouldn't actually know. Well, except for 'and', but that's different since its the same word. XD

Only a few care enough about the practice to actually go out and buy slaves to free.

Our Father
Who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name

Hardly modern syntax, is it? I mean, I doubt that's what Jesus said, as he would have spoke Hebrew, so it's not like it's sacred. Why don't they update it? Or, even better, say it in Hebrew, or even Latin?

Because religion or something. I don't know.

Anyway, wasn't there someone who said they would be sending an emissary/diplomat/something to Qanaxma Deniz pretty early on? Or am I just imagining things?

That reminds me - how do people want the combat system to go?
I know the honour system is good, but it only works when you can trust one side to back down. Sometimes, two sides just seem too evenly matched to get a clear winner.

Jesus spoke Aramaic. At any rate, because of the connotations. It should reflect the importance and tradition, not to mention it is the most direct translation.

I'm not a big fan of 'systems'. Let the people involved talk to each other and figure it out, and if they can't come to a decision it's left up to the GM.

By the way, Hazmat, you wanna skip a few days after my post to when the Daemonrexa Naval Legion makes landfall on Naqah?

I can imagine so, since your first post has one being fed to a bear. XD Also, blood sacrifices of any kind aren't practiced by my people; their main God is dead after all and they believe that when they die their souls join his in the afterlife. No need for a blood sacrifice there.

The Ralgon God is a lot worse than dead. He simply doesn't give a crap, period.

This should be interesting; I think Qanaxma Deniz is the only civilization that doesn't practice actual slavery. Indentured servitude as punishment for a crime or to pay debts, sure. But actually treating people like objects doesn't happen; going to be a nasty surprise for any diplomat from a slavery-practicing nation that brings along some slaves with them.

Actually, the Ralgon Empire's insitution of slavery is largely just people becoming indentured servants as a way of paying the price for either their debts or crimes. Wars aren't so common as they used to be (save for border skirmishes with the Crayvens), so enslaving people from wars aren't nearly as common as buying someone's freedom for a while.

EDIT: Gotta work on a post soon...

Yeah. I was trying to think of a way to introduce the peculiar, nightmare-wracked High Lord Lyrus and his equally peculiar house but keep the post relevant. I have an idea, but it needs nightfall.

Oh cool. Nightfall it is :)

So after your next post, the 5th Naval Legion will make landfall.

EDIT: Also, a bunch of questions to help speed things up, you know, in case you miss these details out:
- Was the galley looted?
- Who looted the galley?
- What happened to the Daemonrexa bodies?
- What happened to the Human pirate bodies?
- How will the local Naqah react when the Daemonrexa make landfall?
- Will there be any official government response in the area should the Daemonrexa make/attempt to make landfall?

Lol no.

The current leading House in Naqah is House Crowthorne. Everyone in my "Important People" list is a Crowthorne.

Your NS is incomplete. You need to add an important person, major industry, currency, landscape, wildlife and trading and tax.
