Yobi sees the goblins rather late, and she may not have noticed them if it weren't for their singing and the pain screams from one getting hit by her street chemist co-citizen's bomb. While two of her comrades are running full into them, she decides the smartest choice is to take out their leader...outside the distance of his whip. As he's a bit far, she takes a step while drawing her bow and nocking an arrow, says a quick prayer to Desna, and lets it fly.

Having only heard the last phrase of what seemed to be a long exchange, Roan was going to complain about the lack of discipline of the group when more goblins appeared. Wasting no time after the Ratfolk threw something and the other man went forward, Roan moved towards the nearest unattended Goblin. In the middle of his stride the smell of burned flesh reached his nostrils coupled with the creature scream. At the moment he smiled, as he noted how the background music that still could be heard, if less enthusiastic then before, changed its tone.

Burn the skin, seems to be done. Guess I have to mash the head. With the handle of his Great sword still held firmly in his hands from the previous encounter, Roan raised the blade in a similar manner to the previous fight. Intent on getting rid of another obstruction to his hunt for worthy prey with a single motion of his blade.

Noticing the battle swiftly changing, Silver was rather confused by it all. She no longer had a sense of what was going on and just looked for the nearest thing that she could hit that wouldn't do anymore damage to the party. She watched the others fight and they reminded her of dancers gracefully moving with the rythme of the music. They all seemed to know what they were doing and she just seemed distracted. She found her own movement and ran forward loading her cross bow with a swift action and prepared to fire at the one to her immediate right. She was lacking grace today and the arrow flew over the goblins head again. It seemed she would do a better job hitting chickens today than actually targets.

Maybe it's the chaos of the attack, or maybe everyone's still recovering from the celebration not to long ago. Either way, everyone seems to be having a hard time being able to hit their target when they need to. Unfortunately for Roan, that bit of bad luck didn't extend to the goblin as it dropped it's torch in disgust and pulled out a rather jagged looking short sword with holes going through the blade here and there.

With a swipe, the blade cut down into the ranger's leg, not hitting anything vital but still looked rather painful. The goblin couldn't help but cackle to itself after a successful hit. "Longshanks like big tomato, but twice as rotten!"

Rissi saw the attacking and the group's shoddy luck, so she decided to try and disorganize the enemy. She moved in quickly to attack the ring leader. Her throw was perfect. The bomb had no chance of missing that smug ringleader's face this time. She almost laughed happily as it collided and exploded all over the leader. "Burn you bastard's! You interrupted my show!"

The bomb hit the floor just before the Warchanter and hit it dead center, doing quite a bit of damage as much of it's flesh was burning and bleeding in a few places. Yet it didn't seem to look that worried as it gave a cackle. It stopped it's singing for a moment to raise a hand and started waving it back and forth while saying something in Goblin that was actually in a well-defined monotone and rhyming scheme. It's gnarled hand suddenly started to glow bright blue before the hand was rested on it's own chest. The glow engulfed the goblin leader and all it's wounds started to heal before their eyes!

The goblin acting as a protector for the leader also dropped it's torch like the other one and lashed out at Dhalgren, catching him across the thigh with a rather superficial wound, but still hurt like crazy.

Yobi watches the goblin warchanter heal itself. "Oh, that's just not fair." She moves a step closer, nocks another arrow, and fires again. "Stupid goblin. No cheating."

Dhalgren was confronted by his own enemy, so he wasn't quite able to see the effect of the firebomb. He did hear the sudden chanting in the harsh goblin tongue from the warchanter. Slightly distracted, he wasn't able to react fast enough as the goblin before him dropped it's torch and attacked, scoring a hit across the middle of his thigh. Grimacing and stepping back for a moment, Dhalgren could feel the sudden blossom of pain but his adrenaline kept it from becoming too much to handle. In reply he swiped at the gobline with his own halberd.

Roan gritted his teeth when the deformed blade pierced his skin. With a glance he could tell that it was a shallow cut, more painful than dangerous. What truly hurt was being hit by such a pathetic enemy. He recovered his balance and, just as his enemy finished speaking, repaid the goblin in kind. He delivered a horizontal slash, the strike aimed at the creature’s throat. It was a sideways slash weaker compared to his previous attack, but harder to dodge.Hopefully, apt to make this goblin pay for his insolence.

“Die vermin!” His voice loud enough to sound almost like a roar, he stood ready to move towards the next enemy, and the ongoing fight, the moment he was certain this goblin was dead.

As if in tandem, both goblins faced by the men were easily cut down, the one by Dhalgren was taken out by a slash to it's stomach while the Goblin before Roan unfortunately had the blade stop halfway through it's neck, so it had the misfortune of slowly bleeding out to death instead of just a quick decapitation. There was only one Goblin left, the Warchanter and it started to look nervous...

But not nervous enough to not notice the arrow flying over it's wide head and missing as it whipped the ground in defiance for not being hit.

Clearly Silver was having some problems with her bow, but she didn't think there was anything better she could do than continuing to hit and miss. She was annoyed with herself. She hadn't done much, but sit around and fire at nothing and create bigger problems for herself and her side. She bit down on her lip trying to concentrate and loded another arrow at the only goblin left. Grinded her feet with the ground, praying to all of her deities that she could hit something for once and did her best to ready her arrow carefully. With one final pray she let it loose.

Rissi decided against another bomb and instead took a small step to clear her line of sight to her target. She drew a flask of alchemical acid from her pocket and hurled it at the goblin. This one sailed true again, splashing a highly corrosive acid on the target of her ire. "Surrender and maybe we won't destroy you!" She probably would still execute the goblin, but she figured the flighty nature of goblins may take a bit of effect here.

The Warchanter looks really upset with itself now. It it's rage, it moved to the side and readied a hand to point right at Rissi, it's hand glowing a sickly purple color as it's disgusted smirk turned into a wide-toothed grin. It looked like a dangerous spell was being aimed right for the poor female ratfolk! Yet out of nowhere, as if directed from the Gods above, the hail-mary shot from Silver streaked across the yard and hit the Warchanter right in the shoulder of the hand that was casting the spell! It let out a yowl of pain as the spell dissipated from it's hand. It was all the opening Rissi needed for her to lob a flask of burning acid right at the Warchanter, finishing it off in a burst of green and pain, leaving a bubbling corpse on the ground.

It seems like the battle with this group of goblins is over, yet the over all attack on the town seems to be going on still. Yet the goblins didn't seem to care so much in how they went about their attack. You notice one goblin that had climbed on the roof of a house about to land on a helpless citizen, but it misses and lands on the ground hard, breaking it's neck with a sickening snap. Another goblin is chasing after a screaming mother holding her babe, throwing a torch towards her intending to set hero n fire. Yet it's aim was really bad as it landed on another goblin, setting it's armor on fire in a rather slapstick manner.

You hear hurried footsteps run towards your group as you turn to face who was giving them. It was the same bearded man in blue robes who had been giving speeches all day on the stage. "Oh thank you so much for your aid! We're starting to turn the tide of the fight agaisnt the goblins thanks to brave men and women like yourselves. Here, let me heal any wounds you might have." Father Zantus moves slightly so he is about dead center of the group as his body glows bright white before sending out a dome of warm energy that extended outward from him in a small area, engulfing you all in a soothing feeling, like a warm blanket wrapping you for the night.

Rissi gave Father Zantus a polite bow before looking around. She looked at the still ensuing chaos of the attack. <Thassilonian>"Damn."<Thassilonian> In Common, she addressed the group. "Is there anything we can do for them? Anything we can do to stop or slow the attack?" She fidgeted a little uncomfortably as she pulled out her sledge, running her thumb along the wood of the handle, keeping a look at any nearby goblins in case they get feisty. "Or are we needed elsewhere?" The final question was directed at Father Zantus.

Finished with his goblin, Dhalgren turned his head to face the warchanter, readying himself to move in and finish him off. As he steadied his grip on his halberd, he watched as a arrow seemingly flew out of nowhere disrupting whatever spell the large goblin had begun to prepare. Only moments afterwards, Dhalgren's eyes followed the arc of a small vial as it broke upon contact with the warchanter, spewing a deadly caustic acid. It wasn't long till the goblin was reduced to a sickly corpse laying on the ground, and Dhalgren averted his eyes at the horrid bubbly sight.

It was then that he could feel the throbbing pain in his leg, and he crouched down to look at the wound a little closer. Dhalgren could still hear the background din of the goblin attack, but he could suddenly hear the sound of rushing feet moving toward the group. Standing up again leaning idly on his halberd, he watched as a man approach the group, robes flapping as he moved along. Dhalgren recognized him as one of the figures giving speeches earlier, but didn't recall his name.

He listened silently as the man thanked the group, and then felt the warm bath of healing about his body, sending the pain in his leg away. As the feeling wore off, he felt a little tingly, but otherwise much better. Having any questions already asked by the newest member of their hastily formed group, he opted to remain silent, keeping an eye on the background chaos going on about the town.

Annoyed that the warchanter still managed to avoid her arrow, Yobi growled audibly. Before she could yell at it about...anything, really - it's not like she had time to plan a speech - she watched it first get hit with an arrow seeming to come out of nowhere. There was a chance it came from the one who called the mist earlier, but it wasn't a good one. Her luck seemed to be about like Yobi's overall today. She didn't get much time to continue that train of thought, however, as the goblin was covered in acid soon after. She almost felt bad for the little thing. Almost.

Then she saw father Zantus. He said something she didn't quite catch in her reverie, but her co-citizen was speaking, as well. She didn't catch the first word or two, but seemed to be asking the others if there was anything they could do to help. She certainly wasn't against the idea. These were her people after all. But she wasn't sure what good she'd do at this point. Regardless, she returned her bow to its proper place again and stepped toward the Father. "Yes, we need to help. Or...at least the two of us." She waved her hand at the rat-person, finding irony in the fact that the bestial people were the only ones to offer their help up to this point. To emphasize the fact, she shifted to her more fox-like form. The Father had seen it before, when she first arrived in town and was seeking shelter for her time away from her family. At that point, she'd only had one tail, so she hoped he'd still recognize her. She did, after all, have at least a passing connection to him, given his religious leanings.

Roan sheathed his sword in a single motion and, after a glance at the state of the enemy corpse, he pointed at the ongoing turmoil all around the group to answer the part he could understand of the rat folk’s question.”Well, we could leave the little bastards alone. They are killing themselves fine without any help.” Roan would have continued his speech if they hadn’t been interrupted by someone in blue robes. He listened to most of the current conversation with his arms crossed and no visible emotion on his face. Whilst it still happened, he turned his face to look at the other man within the group and noted that he had chosen to keep an eye on what was happening around them. Roan gave an almost imperceptible nod, which he wasn’t sure the warrior had seen, and fixed his gaze on the newcomer. Specifically on his behavior and body language to discern any information he could gather about all that was happening and its circumstances and, maybe more importantly, how trustworthy the man was.

Roan remained focused solely in his chosen task, undisturbed even when the open wound on his leg was suddenly healed and the annoying pain of the cut disappeared. His demeanor only changed when someone he had barely paid any attention to transformed into some sort of humanoid beast. Startled, he withdrew half of his Great Sword from its scabbard before he stopped; as he realized the now fox-thing hadn’t done anything threatening, at least for the moment. With a frown he took his hands away from the weapon’s hilt and allowed it to slide by itself inside its rightful place. This brought memories of how bothersome it had been to complete those manhunts against shape changers. After a rather long sigh, he said. “Hey, this isn’t the time for parlor tricks.”

Silver ran up to the goblins corpse to see if she hit it and had a huge smile on her face when she saw it. She laughed and said a quick pray to her deities, hoping that they heard that she appreciated their good fortune. It certainly wasn’t a good fight on her part, but at least she managed to hit a single target. She looked across at the others as a man approached them, he was on their side. He said his thanks as well and cast a spell, but she didn’t have any wounds that needed healing. The others looked like they were getting better.

The goblins weren’t having the best luck either it seemed. They looked like they were doing a better job killing themselves than Silver was. She was slightly annoyed, but kept it to herself. She felt as if she had let these people down in some way, but continued to smile. She did something good it seemed. She watched the group more closely now that she was close to them again. She seemed very on edge, her hand gripping on her crossbow. She decided to put it away in a swift action and watched the girl turn into a fox like humanoid. She thought that Roan might lung at the girl, but her transformation was just followed by a sharp comment.

“Let the anifolk be. Its not like she did anything threatening.” Silver smirked and let her hood fall no longer seeming so bothered by her appearance. Her blond hair fell down past her back and curved around her shoulders. She wore a simple crown, but she didn’t like to show it and a long dress that fell down and came around her ankles. Her eyes where clouded as she looked across the group, but she still looked at them when they where close. She seemed to loosen up right away now that she had done something useful. She seemed more carefree, but she still had a lingering tenseness.

“I’ll help, but it’s clearing up. I didn’t think Desna would let an out break like this go on for long at her own gathering.” She shrugged and rested her hand on her hip. She had chosen to let the group continue on with whatever they wanted to do and tag along. She had decided that this must have been what her dreams where trying to tell her, that perhaps this groups meeting was written in the stars of her destiny. Everything could finally be explained if she could make it.

Father Zantus looked around as the sound of battle waged in the distance before settling on Rissi. He didn't seemed to be that surprised at her, but why would he seeing as he would see her on the streets many times peddling her alchemy for the common folk. "Most of the town guard is already doing it's part to force back the rest of this vile goblin horde. While they had the advantage of surprise, these creatures have nowhere near the experience and and armaments to make a serious attack. Sheriff Hemlock informed me that it's jut a matter of time before they've all been wiped out."

When Yobi suddenly changed back into her Kitsune form, Zantus raised his eyebrows in surprise. He knew of the pseudo-sister of Ameiko, but he had no clue she was actually a shape-changer of some kind. "Well... At least I can safely say that living in such a small town never has unexpected things occur. Though I would hope Lonjiku doesn't know of who you are, lest you attract his wrath."

The scream of a rather pained man echoed nearby as Zantus looked on in fear. "I must go! Others need me, just keep fighting them where you can!" With that last bit of advice trailing behind him, he ran off down the street to help some poor soul near death most likely. The sound of battle seemed to be far off from them, so where could they go to help? Yet that answer was soon given as another scream much closer as well as frantic barking could be heard coming from the north!

Rissi growled lowly as the scream issued near them. Not waiting for the rest of the group, she quickly started towards the scream. "Come on, let's kill more of these bastards!" She made sure to slow and finally stop before leaving the group's sight, but she knew she needed to try and see what they were up against so she could position and prepare. She shifted some gear around a bit and pulled out another acid flask to hold in her free hand, her sledge ready in her other in case she needed to grip it again and bash some skulls.
