Yes, clearly, realism will obviously apply in a roleplay designed to emulate a genre based around cool but stupid and impractical giant robots doing cool things. How silly of me to not realize that fiction must obviously follow reality and so melee is never ever viable in any work of science fiction such as this roleplay. And no, blades aren't really OP, it's a general tradeoff of range for damage and so they generally require specific builds and strategies along with some level of skill to be effective, and that's mostly for robot vs robot combat, while more drawn out missions tend to place them at a disadvantage.

Some realism is bound to be enforced by the OP, due to common sense. I'm just saying, swords have a clear disadvantage if you only have a sword, which it looks like you intend to do.

Alright well I can see this has caught interest, I will be throughing the OP up as an OOC in the link post that will follow this one. I will take into consideration ALL posts made about adjusting the template for units and such so be prepared to make edits to characters already made.

Also in the sword vs. sniper argument:
It is true that a sniper has the advantage in most regular combat, but the circumstances are a bit different with our giant robots. A human being is down after at most 2 decent shots from a sniper, but a CVF is tougher than that even with a class 3 armor. Now most sword and shield CVF's also come with a fair amount of agility used mainly to close the gap between them and a gun men, but this agility can also be used to also avoid his gun fire. But when it comes down to it the better pilot can come out on top in either situation with knowing how to properly gain the advantage with either weapon.

Alright I'm gonna apologize, it's just a generally sore spot for me when someone tries to argue realism in mecha of all things. I like mecha precisely because they're unrealistic and give no fucks in their own special way. But yeah, sorry about being a douche.

The Shotgun is not a good choice for any one fighting mechs as it is most affective at very close range and its whole design is better used against fragile flesh rather than powerful CVF's. If you felt like having one it would be a 2, and a double barreled holdout(sawed off) would count as a 1.

I'm just wondering if you took any of what I said earlier in to advisement, if that's the right way to say it. About the list of perks and their cost, perhaps later being able to upgrade, stuff like that.
