Name: Cordelia Susanna Murphy

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Appearance: Cordelia is a pale-skinned beauty, taller than most women of her time, standing at a solid 6 feet tall. By far the most distinctive thing about her appearance is her hair, it being thick, wavy and crimson, reaching almost to her knees in length. As dictated by her job, her hair is usually curled into ringlets and piled on top of her head in an elaborate updo decorated with rose hairpins, some of the curls left free to fall down her back, as well as frame her face. Her eyes are a light teal blue, framed with long lashes that are coated with dark mascara, and lids accentuated by dark eyeshadow. Her face is a slightly angular oval with a pointed nose and moderately thin brows. Cordelia's body is thin from a meager diet, growing up poor in Ireland, but lean-muscled, sturdy and strong from hard work, with large breasts, a flat stomach that is easily taken in by corsets and long legs. Her hands are rough and callused with numerous small scars, which her employer claims "would be the death of her appeal".

As dictated by her job, Cordelia dresses in an elaborate gown, consisting of a black corset with short black puffed sleeves that go off her shoulders, silver trim, and is laced up with sapphire blue strings. Her skirts are multi-layered, her inner ones being sapphire blue and raised up in front, reaching the middle of her thighs, while still remaining long at the back. Her outer skirt is black and in the same style, the front short and exposing her underskirts, and the back covering the inner layers. A sapphire blue ribbon decorates her back. She wears thigh-high sheer black stockings, as well as black high heels, which she finds very uncomfortable. As her hands are rough and her arms are scarred, her employer insists that she covers them up with long, black gloves. Her hair is decorated by red and cream rose hairpins. Cordelia however, would love nothing more than to be free from the restraints of corsets and heels, and to put on trousers rather than a dress.

Personality: Cordelia is a determined and passionate girl, with a love for life and new experiences. Being raised in a poor farming family in her native Ireland shaped this young woman to be resourceful with what she has, strong-willed, streetwise and fearless in the face of danger. She isn't threatened by taunts, and is more likely to fight back than take whatever is thrown at her. This sort of life also meant that she was never going to grow up to be a proper lady, and true to that, most of her gestures are more masculine than feminine. She still knows that she is beautiful however, and was trained to use this to her advantage. While Cordelia is more likely to deal with problems head on, she knows when opportunities present themselves to her and how to take advantage of them. This redhead also harbors distaste and mistrust towards Brits in general, mostly because of her family's British landlord.

Despite having a difficult life, Cordelia however remains adventurous and is a free spirit by heart, unwilling to be tied down by rules and orders. She might be forced to work hard, but she in reality, longs for a world and a life outside her work where she can be free to make her own choices, do what she wants, and love who she wants to love. She might be a hard worker, but that doesn't mean that she enjoys being just like that - a hard worker. Rather, she fancies the idea of life on the wild frontier, whether the rumors about the dangers and the spirits out and about are true or not. Fear was never her issue after all, and she did get to experience such freedom in Ireland, back when she was young and didn't have to carry out responsibilities and duties in the farm. Up to now, she still dislikes having to place work above her own happiness. Unfortunately, her employer was never the kindest man, and basically claims that he "owns" her. Still, she makes it a point not to bend fully to him, and does what she could to make her life bearable, until she could find the right opportunity to capitalize on, that is.

Entertainer she may be, but when Cordelia loves, she knows that it would be forever. Two years of being forced upon unsavory men and never did she have feelings for those she had one-night stands with. She might flirt and seduce to get what she wants, but when she does develop feelings for someone, expect her to be loyal, though she shows it in different, unconventional ways at first and would probably deny it if questioned.

History: Seamus Murphy was a rebellious Irish serf, despite the poverty that he and his wife Colleen lived in. Their extremely theatrical and vain landlord, Drake, was a cruel man, forcing them to labor for long hours on the farm, while taking away most of what they grew and harvested. However, Seamus taught himself and Colleen how to read and write, stole crops whenever he could, and named his three children with Shakespearean names as a jab towards his landlord. Cordelia was the middle child and the only girl of three children. Lear, her older brother, doted on her a lot and despite their difficult life, tried to make life better for her. While they had to attend to farm work often, Cordelia and Lear often went playing in the moors and the hills during their free time, mischievous Cordelia wanting to see more and frequently wearing her brother's old trousers instead of dresses, and Lear leading her in "quests", exploring woods and old ruins. The two sometimes even dared steal two of Drake's smaller horses (usually Cordelia's idea) and rode at night, trying to test their luck in spotting the Dullahan. It was at this young age that the redhead learned to fight and defend herself, as tricky leprechauns and grass monsters frequented the area. Her younger brother by six years, Cicero, was just as playful, though he always seemed to find himself at the wrong place and at the wrong time. Cordelia and Lear often defended him, insisting that they take the blame. Drake was not a kind-hearted man however, and often punished them physically, as well as forced them to work into the night at times. In time, the siblings were forced to work longer hours with their parents. Though they tried to find some time (usually at night) for themselves, life became more difficult, and the three had to resort to learning how to steal the way their father did in order to help the family survive. Cordelia grew up tough and strong, without fear for her landlord, knowing too much about his tendencies to do so. Every yell only managed to make her lash out in retaliation, and she never bothered to hide her anger from him either. Lear and Cicero were more patient, but no less strong-willed.

Seamus and Colleen knew that there was no future in staying in Ireland under Drake longer than Cordelia suspected. They had gradually been saving up to purchase tickets to America in order for the family to start a new life there. However, it was very difficult to do so, and by the time that Cordelia was twenty-one, Lear, twenty-four and Cicero, fifteen, they had only managed to have enough for two tickets. Deciding that Cordelia and Lear were old enough to take care of themselves, Seamus and Colleen purchased the tickets for them, and forced them to leave the farm the next night. They were hesitant at first, but the parents' urging won out, and they ran away, boarding the third-class coffin ship two days later, before they could be caught.

The trip took a month, and many died onboard. Cordelia and Lear managed to stay alive together as they arrived, and they settled in a cheap Boston tenement, taking up jobs as factory workers. Cordelia stayed for two months, working for very little payment and hating her job due to how much it enslaved her. She wanted out, and her opportunity came when two finely-dressed men struck up a conversation with her on the street as she was heading home from another long workday. They offered her a better job, claiming that she was "a rare beauty", with food and board separate from her pay, the only condition is that she move and travel with them. Cordelia decided on her own that she was going to take up the offer, thinking that it would free her of her current burdens, and that night, instead of going back to Lear and the apartment, she left with the two men on a train. She eventually found herself in a small frontier town in the dry West. The men owned a saloon, and she had actually been hired to be a multipurpose saloon girl. Taking up the name "Susanna Blue" from her own middle name combined with her eye color (as her employers thought that "Cordelia' was too cold and Shakespearean), Cordelia transformed from manual laborer to entertainer. She was taught how to use her charm and looks by the older girls, learned how to do things such as dance and read the Tarot, and most importantly, how to approach men and know what they wanted. For the past two years, Cordelia worked as Susanna Blue, eventually becoming one of the very few girls remaining, as the others disappeared. Though she had more at this point, she still felt tied down and enslaved, and longed for freedom, excitement and adventure, things that she just loved the thought of, and were things that for her, were worth throwing away money and stability for.

Name: Colt "The Devil Spawn" Jackson
Age: 25

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Colt stands at 6'1'' with a muscular frame - a result of years of hard labor, a protein intensive diet and trouble. His shoulders are pumped like iron cannonballs and his chest is equally formidable. He has dirty blonde hair mostly messy up top but still well-trimmed around the sides and a 5 o'clock shadow is usually noticeable on his face. You would quickly notice his vibrant emerald eyes if it weren't for his stubborn tendency to conceal his face with a faded, pitch-black gunslinger hat, which he tips forward just enough to avoid being recognized while traveling or when resting at one of the many saloons he visits, and a black bandana that he wraps around his mouth. Colt's skin is tanned from consistent exposure to the elements despite wearing heavy gear. He has several scars placed throughout his body, two of which are the most noteworthy, one around his neck that tells of an attempted hanging and a second one gashed across his right eye that he received during a violent encounter.

Suggestive of his maverick profession, Colt wears a black, heavy duster coat that is slightly tattered around the edges and a white tailor-made shirt that was customized by the same tailor that made his rugged pants. He walks around in dark brown boots with metal spurs and a thick ammunition belt that holds enough rounds to assault a squadron of at least a couple dozen men. To top of his ensemble, he sports buckskin gloves with metal cuffs that would resemble gauntlets.

Personality:
Colt's current personality was greatly shaped by a pivotal event that twisted his future into one of much darkness and solitude. In constant travel, Colt spends an inhumane amount of time alone but can carry on a normal conversation when necessary - he isn't socially disable by any means. He's a straightforward, to-the-point kind of person which gets him into trouble left and right. He'll be sure to speak out or act out, in most cases, against something that he doesn't agree with. His actions don't really follow a set path or righteousness, the times that he's done good have resulted as consequences of his objectives. Colt certainly has his vices: he's a heavy drinker and smoker mostly out of habit versus the physical need for it. He's also romanced various women as a form of simply satisfying his need for contact; despite these casual encounters, Colt has never been in love and remains unconvinced that it's possible.

His only companion is a ghostly horse, Shadow, gifted to him by a demon. Colt is as relaxed about life as he is a cold blooded killer - a perfect 10 on both score-sheets. He doesn't panic and isn't afraid. He's resilient against pressure and has an incredible tolerance for pain; he does not complain about wounds but is vulnerable against emotions which is why he's never bothered keeping a woman even though deep, very deep inside he longs for the right person - someone who's strong and willing to go where he's going, figuratively speaking.

History:
The future Devil Spawn was raised by his stepmother up until his preteen years. He had a rough childhood, losing his mother during birth and his father subsequently. Colt wasn't even two years old when his father courted another woman. Initially, the woman seemed to care about Colt but was mere deception on her part. Finally, after his father passed away, the woman's true colors emerged. Although, bizarrely enough, not ridding herself of Colt, his stepmother would beat him for the slightest mischievousness to the point that he ran away from the shack where they lived and never looked back.

Teenage Colt was quickly caught up with the wrong crowd and joined an emerging gang that quickly gained notoriety throughout the frontier. Things seemed to be going well for Colt, he amassed riches but at the same time created powerful enemies, the kind that wanted him dead. During a routine heist, Colt was betrayed by the gang leader and handed over to his enemies unarmed. Colt was captured and hung at public's eye. He struggled to remain alive and surely would've perished if it had not been for a demon that appeared before him, offering him life plus supernatural attributes in exchange for a favor. Dante was tasked with traversing the Western frontier in search of specific targets to eliminate. He became very well known and soon an entire myth formed around his adventures and incredible feats, he became known as the Devil's Spawn - people claimed to have seen him survive multiple gunshots and others claimed to have seen him on a demon horse racing across the desert in the middle of storms.

Almost feel bad that Colt is gonna cut Cordelia's long hair. Don't think she'll like that very much.

There will still be plenty left...enough for ponytails and braids. She'll need to pass off as both man and woman in case the situation calls for it, while still being practical. Her actual hair length is...around knee-length...not unusual for the time period and her profession, and very impractical. Cutting it to at longest, a little above the hips, or even a length between shoulder-length and waist-length works. There definitely were some men with long ponytails (think Irvine from FFVIII), so she wouldn't mind...she'd actually be glad that she wouldn't have to curl and pile up her hair anymore....and she can now let it down and allow the wind to blow through it. XD

I recall we planned to have Colt be the one that cuts it with a knife right? Heh. Also, at what point should we introduce the shaman that will ink the their protective tattoos? That should be interesting. So, Wyatt and Alexander, I assume one if not both are ghouls/vampires/some sort of monster? Colt hunts the supernatural, he needs to have a target here somewhere for his arrival to make sense.

Yup! Either his own knife or the one Cordelia will steal from the kitchen. XD They have to move around for a few days to reach the first settlement, closer to the Plains. I assume they're somewhere in Texas or Arizona, judging by the description. They definitely will get quite a number of tattoos, considering the threats. At some point, Lear Murphy would be the one to ink them! XD

Both of them are definitely vampires. Ever wonder why there are so few girls? XD They're food. XD

He'll probably just use his, although it might not be a good idea considering he just used it. Let's say Texas. Yeah they'll probably travel all day the following day and then setup camp somewhere to stay the night. So that's the reason, man, this is gonna be good. They can't be conventional vampires, of course, have you seen Blood Plus? I'd imagine them to have outstretched limbs and look very creepy with blood red eyes. Dang so they eat the women? How about Sophia, what's her role in the saloon besides the obvious one? You mentioned she was a partner so I'd figure she would play some sort of role as well.

Not that Cordelia would mind...she isn't a neat freak and grew up on a farm...wouldn't be a huge deal for her. XD Colt must steal some supplies from the establishment and ask Cordelia to help him, without saying anything. He can take things from the kitchen, precious stuff that could be bartered or sold, and even other things that could help them!

Of course they aren't conventional types. They're tall and slender, so your concept can work. May have magic though, to make their eyes more natural-looking. Purple eyes for both is a nice middle ground...it's quite different. Plus, they will smell faintly of blood as well. XD Yup, they do take their blood and roast the dead flesh for themselves. XD Sophia...found out their secret accidentally a few years prior, and is now in cahoots with them and gets privileges as long as she doesn't breath a word about it. They promised to turn her in the near future, so...of course it sounds pretty appealing to her!

Colt is going to attempt and gradually let Cordelia in on his plan without actually telling her. I figured they can steal a carriage after the gunfight and fill it up with supplies and food. It's evening so they'll probably want to travel the night to get as far as they can before news breaks out and even more dangerous folk come looking for them. I figured they can take on human forms so they don't arouse suspicion but can revert to their vampire forms at will - same for other supernatural folk we find along the way.

Guess Sophia will have to be taken out as well then!

Sorry, got caught up with World Cup...writing a post now! XD

Yup, Wyatt and Alexander have a personal carriage parked right in front of the establishment, complete with heavy curtains inside. They're vampires after all. XD That should conceal Colt pretty well. As long as Cordelia wears pants and changes her hairstyle, she wouldn't be too recognizable, plus she has a little experience driving a carriage...she did it occasionally with her dad (if he wasn't taking Lear) back when they were under that...British overlord...the guy figured that alternating between a British coachman (for very formal events) and an Irish serf (who's neither crass nor illiterate), making him shave and dressing him up (for more everyday shit) was cheaper than using the proper British coachman full-time. XD

Both Wyatt and Alexander's human forms have a skin tone similar to Cordelia's, but lack the pinkish tone. They are thin, and have angular faces with dark circles under their eyes. XD

Of course Sophia better be taken out! XD I wanted to name her Sophia because I just hate that name in novels and needed to shade it. Any novel that has a protagonist named Sophia...I don't exactly read. I don't know why....maybe it's very overused? XD
