Lea stayed quiet as she walked. Marcus was annoying her so she elected to ignore him. As she walked she thought to herself what she would say to River. What her sister would think of her now. "When everything has gone to hell is when she comes back." she sighed. Lea kept walking but saw movement in the corner of her eye. Turning she saw a slight shadowy figure of someone around a wall. "Hey! Show yourself!" Leanne shouted that way, unsure if she really meant for that to come out.

Jace nodded, "I've always been a man for taking things head on...but if there's anything else out there taking the streets would be asking for trouble. Lets head out the back and search the buildings that way." Jace stood to his feet and switched to his shotgun, "this'll make more noise than my flamethrower...which means if we get into trouble somebody's bound to come looking." With that said he started towards the door.

River nodded and agreed with him. He did have a point. "Alright. Sounds good to me." she looked at the alley door and walked over to it, cautiously due to what had come down it before. She put her hand on the nob but hesitated for a second, hearing something on the other side of the door. She motioned for Jace to come over and pulled out her butterfly knife ready to attack. "Something's out there. Ready?" she whispered to him. River waited for a second, drew a breath and looked at Jace, then opened the door poised to strike.

Jace moved into position right behind her, as she slammed through the door he followed and went sideways in a crouch while aiming his gun, in case it was a human he spoke, "GET DOWN ON THE GROUND!!!

River looked around cautiously and held her knife ready. As she took a step out the door it swung back and hit her, knocking her to the ground and her knife out of her hand. In response River rolled over and kicked the door back into the person behind it. Causing the person to stumble backwards, she saw that they were in fact not infected but another survivor. "Thought he said get down!" she yelled at the person, who was ironically now panted on the ground holding their nose. "Jace it's a live one." River called back to her "partner".

River grabbed her knife and got up off the ground, dusting herself off. "Well, since you're still on your ass I'll try diplomacy now. Who are you and what the hell are you doing here?" she shook her head then crossed her arms as she interrogated the stranger. For a good minute there was only silence. "Look, I'm just a slight bit pissed from you're "hello". Forgive me if I'm rude. Just please answer the questions. Who are you and what are you doing here?" River asked with a sigh, shaking her head again but this time at herself.

Marcus had taken a bit of distance behind Leanne. He was taking his time trying to check, from the street, every corner of every building. He was remembering all his childhood memories. He saw places he used to always hang out with Lea. Things seemed so much easier back then. Look at us now, he thought to himself. There is no more society, the only one that exists is what thier small groups makes of it. When Leanne shouted to someone, Marcus ran towards her getting his rifle. He made sure a bullet was in the chamber and he crouched next to her pointing his gun in the direction she shouted at. He tried to look through is scope to try and see who it was but all he saw was a silhouette. "Come out slowly with your hands in the air where I can see them!" he shouted too.

Serah looked between the two people and thought of an answer to give. She didn't want to give her real name so she had to come up with something different. "My name isn't important. I'm here because I heard sounds inside. Thinking it was a dead guy, I acted. My apologies. I'll be going now." Serah finally said out loud. She wanted to leave quickly, these people didn't look scary, but they didn't look friendly either. Something was off about them and she didn't want to stick around to find out.

Dmitri came out of hiding, swearing under his breath as he knew he was caught. He looked at the mastermind behind uncovering his position. He frowned and raised his hands, his weapon dropping to the floor. He let out an irritated sigh and raised an eyebrow as he looked to Marcus. "I'm empty. No food, no ammo, nothing. Either shoot me or let me go. I'm not going to have my time wasted. Especially with some punk like you." Dmitri barked, a very slight and almost unnoticeable Russian accent heard as he spoke. He was obviously upset, already having a shitty day aside from the whole world's situation as a whole. He looked around, trying to figure out a way to attack to get away from his captor. He noticed Marcus' hand placement and stance with his gun, almost smiling at how incorrect he handled his weapon. He had a trick up his sleeve. A very dirty trick.

Lea scoffed and crossed her arms at what the guy was saying. "If you're empty why do you still have the weapon?" she wasn't in the best of moods but at least it was better than listening to Marcus preach about Lea screwing her life up and the little drinking problem she had acquired.

"We're not going to kill you. We may feed you or give you a drink, but are you sure solo is the way to go?" she was tired and wanted to leave the city. Wanted to be done with the town of her twisted upbringing. Less time she had to spend there, the better. "Want a drink?" Lea finally offered.

Still crouched next to Lea, Marcus put a finger on the trigger seeing the guy still had his gun in his hand. He looked with the sight under his scope to make sure he had a good shot if he needed to take it. "Not too fast Lea, we don't know who he is." Marcus didn't like the attitude that guy was giving him, so he tensed up and started to talk louder. "Who are you calling punk? I think we have a wanna be gangster or maybe a douchebag with his tight blue shirt. You ain't in no position to give orders. Take one more step and I'll shoot!" He knew how to deal with a threat like this, he had to deal with a kind of similar situation in the army. He knew he had to stay calm and focused, but he did not want to hurt him. Marcus knew it was rare to meet someone else and knew he could be a good addition to the group.

Leanne looked at Marcus irritated. "I don't care. I'm too tired to kill anybody. If the guy wants a drink, I'm gonna get him a drink." she rolled her eyes and looked back at Dmitri. "Look, if you want food I can bring you somewhere there is some. Ammo on the other hand, as you can see, I don't have. My sister may. If you want a drink theres a bar down this street here," Lea pointed in the direction of the bar. "I can take you if you want." she meant every word she was saying.

Leanne was too tired to kill someone and she just wanted company besides Marcus. When it came time to talk to River she would, but she didn't need someone preaching in her ear. 'Hell maybe the guy lost his girlfriend and is looking for a pathetic lowlife like me.' Lea thought jokingly to herself. She turned to walk toward the bar. "Forgive him, he gets antsy and moody with new people." she said mocking him slightly. The more fun she poked at him, the better she felt.

Dmitri chuckled. "You're in no position to give me orders either, punk. It takes an idiot, one like yourself, to confront an unarmed survivor." He said. He then exaggerated taking a step forward, mocking his warning not to take one. "Oh. Would you look at that? I took a step. A big one too. Are you gonna shoot me now? Huh? Go ahead. Waste some of your precious ammo. I hear it's quite a rarity out here." Dmitri said, trying to piss Marcus off. He slowly began to take another step, testing Marcus even more now. He had a cocky smirk on his face.

Dmitri slightly turned his head to see Leanne. He listened to her speak, putting his foot back down to stop taking another step. He shook his head. "You want to take me to a place I have no information about and have the possibility of lieutenant dumbshit try to kill me? I think I'll pass, sweetheart." Dmitri said, lowering his hands as he started to lose Marcus' sense of seriousness.

Leanne looked back at him and rolled her eyes."Lieutenant dumbshit shoots you, I'll put a bullet between his eyes. I was offering you food and a drink. But if you decline fine. Starve. I don't have the patience nor the sobriety to lie to someone right now. You want to know if I'm lying?" Lea turned to him and crossed her arms. She didn't have any patience right now, she just wanted to leave.

"There four of us. The bar is just out meet up place. We're leaving for my sister's home state. Watch him cringe with every piece of info I give. Go ahead, watch." she pointed at Marcus. She sighed and turned back around. "I can bring you back a drink if that puts your nerves at ease. Hell, you have a scope don't you? Just watch us through that. We're low on ammo too so like you said, you would be a waste of a bullet." Leanne shrugged and walked toward the bar calling Marcus over.

Dmitri's sassiness subsided and he took a deep breath. He reached into his back pocket and pulled a folded paper full of writing and drawings. "Alright. I'll stop by. But I don't trust any of you just yet." The Russian said, unfolding the paper and reading before stuffing it back into his pocket without folding it. He looked around, reading building names, street names, and looking for landmarks.

"Lieutenant dumbshit needs his dumb friend, you better wake up. I will not tolerate that for very long and i do not think your sister will either. You know you said too much, we need to go back to the bar right now." Marcus strapped his gun on his back and started to run right away towards the bar not even looking once at Leanne or waiting for her. He knew he had to warn the others of their meeting with the stranger because he did not know if the guy was alone or not. He could be preparing an attack.

Marcus arrived at the bar slamming the door open. "River! Jace! Where are you guys!?" He looked around but did not find anyone but technically they still had time to search around. He grabbed a chair and sat on it outside putting his backpack in front of him and grabbing the water bottle he had to take a sip.

Leanne

"My sister is none of your concern." Leanne snapped at him before he ran off. She was sick of everyone talking or comparing her to her sister. River was a seperate person, very different than Leanne. River was the child her parents got right. She tensed up slightly and stared at him with anger as he ran back to the bar.

Sighing she turned back to Dmitri. "At this point, it may be safer for you to stay behind me. Just don't pull anything funny, alright? I rather not have to kill you or have anyone else get killed. Especially my little sister." Lea knew that made her sound weak and vulnerable, but if she was gonna get back without this guy slicing her throat when she turned her back to him, she needed his sympathy. Pity was her best angle. she could always work with it. "Stay behind me. You should be fine. My sister is alot smarter than that one, and is more sympathetic than me so I doubt she'll put a bullet between your eyes." Her tone had grow cold and tired. Almost like she was about to give up on everything. LEa started to walk back to the bar somewhat sluggish until she picked up pace watching someone run away from the bar. 'What the hell?' she thought to herself them turned her attention to Marcus waiting outside the bar. 'Great. I'm in for it.'

River

River looked at Jace in utter surprise and walked in the direction the girl ran. It was rare to see living people, let alone so many in one day in such a small town. Not once had River ran into so many. 'Is this an obvious place? Are there groups of people around here?' She began to ask herself. Most of it just didn't add up. Her sister she knew would be here. But Marcus and Jace were total surprises. Marcus she had known, and grew to not trust. But she didn't even know Jace and was completely unsure if trusting him was the right call. He did give them food, which was helpful and kind. Something people nowadays didn't do. People fight over food now. OR scavage, perhaps even steal. But he didn't.

"Well, that was weird to say the least." River said back to Jace. "Should we continue our search? I'm a bit concerned what we might find at this point. This town looked prety picked clean when I can through. Maybe my siste knows which places are still in tact. What do you think?" she was unsure of everything at this point and the stress was starting to get to her. She just wanted to get back on the road and go back to the mountains of Colorado.

It wasn't too ruined there. The city sure was, but the mountains still remained as gorgeous as ever. It would be a great place to wait out danger. At the same time it was a was to any town and those towns had been pretty rummaged when she left. 'Is the base really there? Is it a trap?' River kept weighing her options and thinking about everything. Soon she would drive herself crazy if she kept it up and she knew that so she cleared her mind as thought about that moment. The now she was in.

Dmitri nodded and followed Lea. He stayed quiet and occasionally glanced back to see what Marcus was doing. He didn't like the man, feeling some sort of rivalry and bad blood between the two even though they'd just met. He shook his head after one last look and focused on following the new girl he met. He had a frown on his face, feeling like something was off.

Dmitri was next to Lea when he saw someone sprint from the bar. "Um...do you know who that is? Or why they're running?" He asked, his eyes looking around to try and seek out any possible threats in the area. Dmitri had left his only weapons behind.

Leanne

Leanne shook her head and looked at the person running. [color=9966CC]"Nope, no clue. But I have a feeling we're about to find out." she said as they approached the door to the bar. Slowly and cautiously Lea pulled on the door, ignoring Marcus, and called out for her sister. "Riv! Hey, I'm back. And I brought something you may wanna check out." she gave a slight smirk and waited for a response. Being that there was none, she walked into the bar and saw no one. It was time to meet up now, but she was no where to be found. "River?!" Lea called out again, this time hoping for a response.
