Professor Lothaire von Wiitelsbach was excited. He didn't let it show, but he was. Today marked the resuming of the tests on the subjects, and during the hiatus Dr. Swift had managed to perfect - or so he thought - an antimutagen that just might suppress or even erase the powers of the young aberrants. If it worked, it would signal a massive leap in their understanding of the mutations.

Striding out of his rooms, impeccably dressed as always, he headed for the staff cafeteria where he found Professor Magnus eating his breakfast

"Good morning, Francis."

"Lothaire."

The man glanced up from his food to give his boss a nod.

"If I may, do you think it wise to carry out such a risky test? If it doesn't work..."

"Francis, I have every confidence in Dr. Swift's expertise. We will proceed as planned."

"...sir."

The two finished their breakfast in silence and headed for the briefing room.
Facility 3 Cellblock
0900

An alarm sounds, and all the mutants are roused. Through the intercom comes the voice of Lothaire von Wittelsbach:

For this morning only, the canteen is not open. This is because we are conducting experiments today. You will follow your designated paths to your respective benches and lie on them. You will submit to the scientists. That is all.

Jakob Schwarz

Upon exiting your cell, you find yourself in a thick plexiglass tube leading towards the testing area. Red tape runs along the floor four meters from its sides, a safe distance. Upon reaching the area, you find yourself in a plexiglass bubble. A padded metal bench with thick metal cuffs and an even thicker chestplate is set in the centre, and two scientists stand by it. Outside the bubble, past the red line, stand four soldiers with guns trained on a slit in the plexiglass, ready to gun you down.

Rainee Marcus

The vest you're forced to wear is heavy. This is because it's packed with heat sensors. If they register anything getting too hot, they'll trigger a poweful electric shock that, while not lethal, will certainly cause some damage as it knocks you out. Trying to take it off will also trigger the vest. Two guards in fireproof suits follow you with batons plated in the same ceramic they use to shield space shuttles from the heat of re-entry. Your bench has no padding - it's too combustible. Instead, it's solid metal. Automated fire extinguishers surround it.

Cade Marcus

You have a vest like your sister's, but the sensors are for humidity. The guards with you are wearing divers' tanks of air and carry high-powered tasers. The bench you're strapped to is surrounded by tanks of liquid nitrogen.

Lucas

Due to your uncooperative nature, you're dragged along by a thick, strong chain attached to a rail in the floor. The other end is linked to the metal collar of your muzzle. There's no bench at all for you - instead, two cuffs in the floor and two in the wall, for your hands and feet. The guards motion pointedly with their guns.

Michaela

Your blindfold is metal, locked to your head, as is your gag. Two guards grip you, one on each arm, and drag you to a bench where you are tied down.

Kimber

Since you were captured, you've been kept immobile inside a padded metal box - a coffin, almost - except for during tests. The rest of the time, electrodes stimulate your muscles and nothing at all stimulates your mind. Suddenly, the box is moved, and you're transferred oh so gently to a bench, where once again you're made immobile with countless straps and buckles.

Daniella

Lights. Bright, glaring lights, stripping away all the shadows. Nothing you could use to make one, either - no duvet, no loose chairs, not so much as a plate. This pattern repeats itself as you're dragged to a bench surrounded with glaring floodlights and strapped down.
Go ahead and post your reactions, and then we'll begin. Try and make it a nice long post, just to introduce your character.

My home is dark. There's not a single bit of light to be seen. Is this home, though? This feels like home, but it also doesn't. No this is not home. I remember now. There are people in white, and small homes just like mine, but I know this isn't really my home. Mother Larsa isn't here. She's not here to give me food, or to teach me new words. No, she's gone now. I remember now. Mother was killed by those loud things that shoot death. I was telling her I didn't want to do anymore testing. They put this stuff on me, and made it difficult to move.I told her. I remember now. She promised me that they would stop. That's when they came to take me to this new home. Except this isn't home. These are new men in white. New testing is going to happen. I don't want to, I told her. Please, Mother, can you make it stop? I just want to go home, eat my food, learn new words, and be with Mother Larsa.

I can't. Can I?

Lucas had been awake for quite some time now in his new cell. When he had first woken up nearly a week ago, Lucas had thrashed about his cell quite a bit. He was somewhere new and he did not like it. Although he soon learned that the chains that bound him in the middle of the room only let him move about a foot in every direction. It didn't take him long to remember that chains cannot be broken with his hands, and he promptly sat down at looked about the pitch black room. A normal person would have been completely blinded by the darkness. Not Lucas, though, he was special in the sense that he could see in the dark. Lucas quickly spotted a black orb on the ceiling above his head, and has spent the last few days looking up at it while his thoughts ran on and on in his head. It didn't feel like a few days for him. This was caused by the fact that he had no way of knowing what time of the day it was. He was quite ready to spend another day staring at the black orb, the only thing that broke the soulless walls of grey, however something different has happened that's never happened before. An alarm sounded somewhere in his cell, which cause Lucas to wince in pain for a second.

Moments after the alarm had gone off the door to Lucas' cell had slid open, which ushered forth the bright light from the hallway. Curling up into a ball from the pain the light caused his eyes, Lucas didn't see the men enter his room. Men that looked much like the ones that had taken him not too long ago. Soon after the men had entered the room had Lucas realized he was being chained to a whole new chain. This new chain started to pull him out of the darkness and into the bright light. Frightened, Lucas tried his best to retreat into the back of the room. There was nothing he could do to defend himself. His teeth were covered, and his hands were useless when forced to be wrapped around his sides. Whimpering as he was forced into the light, Lucas found himself in a new world. This new home of his was very different from the other now that he's left his dark cell. He was in a long hallway that lead down to a double-doorway. Before he could even get accustomed to his new surroundings the chain started moving down the hallway and towards the doors at the end. He hated the chains already. They wouldn't let him move, and be free.

Lucas was forced into a new room because of the chain he hated so much. The chain didn't go into this new room, however, and he was left standing at the doorway peering inside. Inside the new room was more chains. These new chains had round cuffs attached to them, and he recognized them to be similar to the chains in the dark room. The men in black suits with their loud devices in their hands that shot death pointed their devices at him and told him to walk straight. Lucas didn't want to do any of that. He wanted to leave, but the things on his body wouldn't let him without the men in black suits filled him with death like they did to Mother Larsa. He wasn't given much time to stand, though, as a man in black behind him got impatient and hit him firmly with his hitting stick and Lucas was forced to walk forward to the new chains. He whimpered, muffled through his mask, and looked around the room for help. Hoping there was someone like Mother Larsa to yell at the men in black suits. Lucas didn't want to hurt them, but they were dangerous to him. Without Mother Larsa he knew he was going to hurt somebody again if he had the chance. Despite the panicked look in his eyes, and his whimpering, Lucas was still forced into the new chains. These new chains were not like the ones in the dark room, he realized, as these wouldn't let him move his hands or legs at all. The moment he was strapped to the cuffs the chains were reeled into the wall which forced his arms up and his legs back so that he resembled a 'T'.

Dennis stood, communicator in ear, in front of a wide array of surveillance screens. They showed every hallway, every cell and every area - save for the head scientists residence - in the entirety of Facility Three. He could monitor every movement and action of the test subjects without even leaving his chair, which allowed him to study the mutants simultaneously to understand how to prepare the best defence against them. And the best part, this was Dennis's office, so he could be here all the time - no colleagues or constant distractions about.
Thank fuck I'm not doing my old work still, thought Dennis, as he rested his arms behind his head and smiled. I may not be a boxer, but I'm earning more than most of those bastards just by sitting here anyway.
Each subject was being transferred from their cells to their respective testing areas today, and Dennis got to watch the show from the best seat in the house. His communicator allowed him to switch between audio receptors in the mutant's locations, so he could easily witness by ear and eye the goings on as the tests progressed.
Dennis pressed a button on his desk in front of him and spoke into an intercom to his PA:
"Bring me a cup of tea, milk and no sugar." It was indeed an unusual choice for a dead-eyed stone hearted brute of a man - but tea was a common tradition in the Wraith household, and Dennis had been brought up drinking several mugs a day.
He watched as one of the subjects - the rather aggressive 'animal properties' mutant, as the scientists explained he had - was dragged along a hallway, tethered to brutal chains like a dog on a leash. Dennis chuckled and sat back in his chair as his tea arrived, steaming and filling the room with a pleasant aroma. Dennis swooped it up and took a delightful sip.
"Not bad," Dennis said to his PA, a short and stubby woman, nerdy - clearly wanting to be helping in the science departments but stuck with him instead, "I'm glad your tea - making skills are better than your looks."
His PA shot her eyebrows (or eyebrow) up and looked like she was about to remark back, but then she realised it was better not to, and she slunk out of the door closing it behind her.

Dennis had been issued a small army of security guards, one manning most corners or patrolling the corridors, and a constant rotation of five or six guards on each subject at once. It gave each guard a chance to learn the routines and doings of each mutant, so they would all be prepared for any... mishaps. Right now, all the guards were stationed around the mutants, an equal amount on each, as they were transported to the testing areas. Almost all of them were there anyhow, so Dennis activated his communicator and stated, "OK, back to your posts."
Guards then started to file away from the testing areas, while a few still stayed behind to guard the mutants. Being in a position of power was stimulating, and the pay check he was receiving weekly only contributed to the pleasure.
Dennis could sense life being good for the foreseeable future.
