"It isn't mine to debate, if the man wishes to come, that is his own choice," he replied. "However, if you have a way of quickly sending messages, I could write to him. He does know a little about magic himself."

Ling pondered for a bit before answering "Unfortunately our only expedient means of communication is exclusive to between demons, and even that is limited to select few demons"

<Snipped quote by Kenny1>
Quite taken aback by the rapidity of the situation unfolding before them, Ragnest and Tyron were once again startled. It took Ragnest a good few seconds and head shaking before he could reply to the guard's question.

Ragnest replied, "Yes, I vouch for Tyron, friend in life and in death and my fellow traveler."

"I wonder, how long will his majesty take to grace us with his presence, I have heard rumors he is quite casual in his formalities." At this Tryon gave Ragnest a shooting glance, as if to say, stop with the formality and subtle rudeness, I know what you are doing. Ragnest suddenly realizing this possibility that he may have unwittingly insulted his host, lowered his arm to his waist, his sword would probably be of little use against magic, but it made him feel safe.

It was unusual for Ragnest to make diplomatic slip ups like these as he was often personally chosen by the king to lead them. Perhaps it was the sudden walls that had sprung up which jolted his nerves, or maybe it was the fact that he was seeing a prince whom he greatly admired.

"You would do well to watch your mouth" said the guard as he narrowed his eyes "you may be a warrior, but you aren't even human. So mind your formalities, or you may just end up wishing you were back in your homeland."

(Ooc: On the Xianese totem poll Ragnest is somewhere around the bottom of the warrior class, which is the second highest class after the demon nobility)

"Have you tried using birds for message?" he asked, slightly confused. "Throughout the mountains, we used namely crows to deliver messages from one end to the other. It was easier and safer than walking. The crow is a rather intelligent animal and properly trained can fly anywhere, if given the specific direction and shown on a map."

"I could use my bird, if you wish so," he added, acting surprised that the Xian's didn't use such an ease for messaging people.

"Honestly it just never seemed necessary to train animals" Ling admitted "Some demons are telepathic so we just have one with every garrison. It's a rare talent but we have enough to use their talent systematically."

"So? Shall I call my bird then?" he asked. "Its better, than having me go there and then return - letting you waste your time, waiting around for us to return."

Mol woke up with a start. He had been dreaming, a very vague dream but it had scenes of fiery pits, war drums and battle. He didn't know why but he felt closer to the orks and trolls now, despite all the harsh treatment they had put him through. He felt as if it had all been justified and that they had been put through worse treatment that he could imagine. He wrote off the feeling as some sort of, 'charisma syndrome' (Stockholm syndrome (that's the one where you think your kidnappers or whatever are actually the good guys right?)) yes dickhead thats stockholm syndrome ahahahah. He didn't remember the events leading up to him being knocked out, although he thought that was normal. He did remember some sort of vision, possibly like his dream but that was it.

He tried to stand but he felt an overwhelming dizziness come over him as he stood up and sat down immediately. He was parched, and when the doctor or whoever had put him in the bed came back he would ask for some water. For now he waited, for someone to come and explain this to him.

"Ah you're awake" a young nurse said as she walked in with a small meal. The wooden tray was set in front of Mol.

The white porcelain bowl, decorated with a beautiful landscape, was filled with a hot noodle soup. A cup of pine needle tea sat next to the pair of silver chopsticks, which had a notable lack of design.

Rural soon snapped his fingers twice - and soon a black crow arrived. Perched on his shoulder, he spoke something to the bird - before it took off.

Flying towards the direction of the Undead Kingdom. "See, intelligent."

"No doubt" said Ling unimpressed. Demons in Xi'an used their powers to control weather and geography. An inefficient poultry messenger system wasn't all that impressive, though it was novel.

"Would you care to postpone our discussion for now?" Ling asked "it's almost time for dinner and I'm famished"

"As you wish," he replied, not much offended. "Do you perhaps have a Temple here that I can use?"

"It's almost time for my prayer session," he spoke.

"We have no temples, but I have a meditation garden you are welcome to your majesty" the Crown Prince said as he stood and prepared to leave.

Mol picked up the chopstick and began eating immediately. He drank the tea in a few gulps and the soup was gone just as fast. After he finished he asked 'where was I when I fell unconsious?'

The nurse began cleaning up the tray, and set it on a small table by the door before answering, barely masking her disgust at his frenzied eating

"The library." She said as she put her hand on his forehead to check for a fever

"You're lucky a doctor found you, that wing is rarely visited" she lifted her hand as she said "well you haven't got a fever, but what happened? The whole palace is on high alert looking for everything from assassins to rats"

Mol thought hard, digging through the memories of visions and nonsensical images to see if he could find any evidence of what happened. After a few seconds he clicked. 'I was reading a book, 'Dru Shikhdub', which means 'the peoples beginnings', I had heard a voice in my head as I read it and, there were visions of past battles. I was with Wu and I remember tearing myself away from the book and after that, nothing. Where is Wu by the way?'

(OOC If any non-ork or troll reads the book it is just blank with a few inkblots within the pages, but since its been in the library for ages they hadn't noticed it before. If a demon reads it, it has an account of the battles between the Totudage and the Bagutoga but doesn't mention the orks and trolls at all, also the title is not Dru Shikhdub to a non-ork/troll it is just blank and to a demon it is something related to the war).

"The Dru what?" She asked confused "you had a copy of "榮譽的戰役 Róngyù de zhànyì". I remember because in all his wisdom the scholar that found you two started dancing around with the book in an obscene way."

'No no, it was called Dru Shikhdub, I remember because I read it to learn about the origins of the orks and trolls, and you said you found the scholar, dancing around with it? Perhaps we need to investigate this further, although I'd prefer not to read the book again' Mol replied, confused.

The the proper honors the Crown Prince departed, leaving some very unhappy looking guards to escort the dead king. The two male guards wordlessly led the king a mile away to the very corner of the palace.

The garden as it turned out was a fire garden, à fitting place for the fire demon prince. The ground was paved with lava rock smashed into gravel, with various bowls and vessels ablaze scattered around the area. In the center a large boulder, sliced perfectly flat, served as a platform.

"Your Majesty we have arrived" said the older of the two guards

"You do not have the rank to address a scholar" she said simply, as if it was obvious "but yes he was very excited. Apparently Róngyù de zhànyì is a legendary book that talks about the origin of the demons who now honor us with their ruling."

As she prepared to leave she added as an after thought "Wu is in the women's clinic next door. You're welcome to visit her, but you'll need a female escort."

With that she left, closing the door behind her
