[IC] Deadpool Strikes Again! (DeadlyPhoenix and Protoman)

[Protoman]

"True. Not like this town is the nation's exemplar of peace on Earth and goodwill to men. It'd at least help me more to get an inside look at this place. Might have seen it before, but I wouldn't know it housed this fatcat if I saw it. Plus, I need to figure our available routes in and out, how tight they keep security, where he is and when, things like that. If he has a seven-figure payout, there's gotta be at least five different factors making this hit worth that much, and at least three of them have to do with what he can buy."

[DeadlyPhoenix]

Deadpool was impressed he was the kind of guy that had a plan. He usually would just head in guns blazing then ask questions later. "Good you can help me with the plan and I can have fun with the ass kicking." He said as he killed another drink. "I do know of one office he has in this city but I would need to find someone who knows when he will be there by..well kidnapping them and forcing them to talk." He said with a twisted sense of humor. "I do know how to press enough buttons to get what I want." He said as he thought back to having to track down the man that turned him into the monster he was today. Damn Francis...

[Protoman]

"That's fine with me. Going in, guns blazing would be okay, if not for what we're after. We spook the target too soon and he'll start thinking ahead and thinking of where to hide."

So he can do the interrogation and I don't open myself up to going too far.

"Looks like our first order of business will be to scout that office. It's probably no secret who runs the place while our man's away. It'd just be a quick look on the Internet. The next step, we get as much info on the building as we can to plan our way in and out. Building plans or schematics would be nice, though he might have already thought of that and they won't be available. Last, we get a feel for his head henchman's work patterns. Then, we can capture him, set up a conference room and go from there."

The voices in Deadpool's head started back up again. Awww man that sounds like a ton of work. That's not fun... said one of the many. Yeah but he is right that's the best way to get this done though... said the more rational one. "Sounds like we better get started." He said standing up from the bar stool and nodding his head to the bartender. "My place is close by with all the information I have learned so far. That would be the best place to start talking this out." He said looking around as everyone was waving goodbye to him.

[Protoman]

Eric stood up and started to follow Deadpool out. He grabbed his gear at the door since they weren't too keen on letting him take his .50-cal into the main bar area. Once they had left the bar, he kept his eyes peeled as he continued to follow Deadpool, curious as to where he stayed.

Better keep an eye out. He seems to have any nearby threats covered...I can put that thousand-yard stare to some positive use...

Deadpool walked out of the bar crossing the street. He took a right turn at the crossroads and headed down an alley way. "This is the fastest way to get there." He said as he kept walking at a steady pace. He was heading for his apartment building. It was abandoned and no one tended to stay there so no one cared he was living there. About 20 minutes later they arrived at the worn out building. "No one else lives in the building so we won't be bothered." He told Eric as he unlocked the door and headed up the stairs to the top floor. At the very end of the hall there was the "pent house" that he turned into his apartment. When he opened the door there were broken boxes and trash all around. "Sorry...I don't get a lot of time to clean up lately." He said laughing.

[Protoman]

Eric followed Deadpool through a short path through the back streets and arrived with him at a run-down building.

I might have actually used this place as a nest once or twice...seems like a place I'd use, anyway. No one's around, it's decrepit, no one would want to go inside...figures it'd be a perfect hideout for him, too.

He followed his new partner inside, ascending several flights of stairs to the top. Fortunately, he still kept up enough training he could only feel some wind out of his sails from climbing to the top of the building before entering the "apartment" at the end of the hall. A putrid odor had lingered throughout the abandoned complex, though it was merely vacant and festering. The stench of lived-in squalor hit Eric like a heavyweight uppercut. Eric's eyes watered a bit as he was more used to an organized living space.

"Well, with this kind of work, I could understand cleanliness falling by the wayside for a while..."

This dude's place smells like Satan's outhouse!

Deadpool laughed when he said cleaning became the last thing he never had timed for. "Don't worry you will get used to the smell." He said kicking a pile of books over as he walked into the room across from the living room. On the far back wall was covered in photographs, newspaper articles in different countries and languages and a lot of holes from him throwing his knife many times into the wall. A few of the photos had red X's through people's faces. "I have been working on this for about two months now and this is our target." He said pointing to the man on the top of the pyramid of faces. "His name is....James Franco...head of Comcast Telenetworks." He said grabbing his knife and stabbing him the photo with one swift movement.

[Protoman]

Eric followed Deadpool around the apartment, noting the books his ally kicked aside as they entered what seemed to be his war room.

Oh, wow...that's quite an extensive map...I can only start to imagine what connections all of these guys have in with each other that he'd have to off them...and the way these are dated, I'm also interested in why it had to be this specific order...wait...did I hear that right?

"The CEO of Comcast? I've heard the company's practices are evil and borderline criminal, though I thought that was more just some corporate fatcat getting away with technicalities of US law. Even to the point of trying to alter US law so it fits their agenda. I could understand begrudging his ability to capitalize on the cable market. This is the first I've heard of someone like him using that to fund wars in third-world countries. This is a pretty massive front operation. I'd like to see what you have that led to him."

[DeadlyPhoenix]

Deadpool smiled as he asked for more proof and handed him a pile of magazine articles with the CEO's pictures in these countries bribing war lords, gang leaders, even with him and a group of mercenaries. "All these were written by a reliable independant journalist. All these stories were denied by her editor because they happen to be buddy buddy." He said using air quotes. "I know he would always get every single fact he possibly can to get the right information. So he came to me when he could not convince his editor to let him publish these articles."

[Protoman]

Eric took the photos and magazine article drafts and started sifting through them, closely scrutinizing the photos for seams or signs of alteration. He shook his head as he started realizing the truth to the information provided in the rejected drafts and the veracity of the photos taken.

"Why would he have photos like these taken, though? Even if he probably never could be charged for a crime because he's in cahoots with the media, this seems...arrogant. To just leave incriminating evidence around like this for someone to pick up. Surely, he realizes he has enemies in this world, even if none of them are in any seat of power? I don't doubt these are real. I don't understand why he would leave anything tying him to this warmongering..."

[DeadlyPhoenix]

Deadpool shook his head. "He is a stubborn ass who does not know when to let go." He said grabbing another couple documents. "Here is the proof that he was in those countries when the articles were written. He is also old school and mainly typed these up to try desperatly to shake some sense into his editor. Also the minute he would show his boss the articles he would have someone wipe his hard drive clean. He always kept extra copies on his personal thumb drive." He said hoping he would convince him. "I can vouch that this guy would not fake these stories. He covered many controversial issues over the years." He said finding the individual printed photos made in a dark room handing them to him.

[Protoman]

"Damn...this guy really sucked the well dry. Guess we can ask Mr. Franco why he'd leave himself open to someone getting so much evidence on him. Or why he would pose for pictures with the guys he hired for his shady deals. Before we kill him, of course. And if he doesn't want to talk, we don't have to have reasons for his cockiness." Eric sorted through the remaining documentation Deadpool had available before setting it all back. "So, since I unwittingly offed the guy who was going to lead you to him, we need a new plan. Where are we starting now?"

[DeadlyPhoenix]

Deadpool grabbed a red marker and crossed off the hit from that night off before taking the Polaroid photo off to see the back. He kept notes there to remember who would be the next step. "Well this man worked at one of the distribution warehouse. The next step would be to stake out that place this week to see if we can catch the big man himself there on camera to see if he comes to...try out his stash." He said before putting the photo back up. "Or we could kindap one of the workers and force the information out someone...but that is not always reliable." He said wondering which one he would prefer.

[Protoman]

"I say we try to stake out the office first. As you've said, torture is hit-or-miss, even if we find someone who would have that intel. He should come for his stuff eventually. In that case, we would have to either get information on his next visit or try to figure out the patterns to see if there's a regular time he will make himself present to us. However we go about getting that information, this is a stealth op. And it sounds like if they catch a whiff of something suspect, they'll hit the alarm and send Franco fleeing for his high castle somewhere else."

[DeadlyPhoenix]

Deadpool knew what they were about to do would be boring as hell. "Well we could always hide cameras that are hardwired into a building next door. Have it linked up to one of our computers so we can watch it from here instead of there. If they see us there then it will raise too many white flags." He said hoping to make a good point.

[Protoman]

"That is true...it would give us a less discreet way of eavesdropping on them and we could go in closer if we see our man. It doesn't give us much in the way of audio if the cameras aren't in with them. That was part of spying closer on them--anything they say in Franco's absence is valuable, too. Perhaps if we can find an in with a bug or two, that might settle that issue. And...don't you mean it'd raise too many red flags?"

[DeadlyPhoenix]

((Oh wow....yes I did mean red flags *face palm*))

Deadpool points at him. "Yes we could find a way to do that. It's just finding a way how. I know at night, their 'guard' is known to party all day and sleep on his shift." He said laughing at the thought. "If we confuse him when he is half asleep he wont bother to look into it that much as long as we are quick about it."

[Protoman]

"Alright. So just convince him he's either dreaming or hallucinating from his weary, drunken state. Sounds like it'd work. Would any day of the week work or do we have to do this on a certain day of the week in his schedule?"

[DeadlyPhoenix]

Deadpool thought it over and looked on the notes of the photo again. "It says usually the weekends are the better days to do this because after work Friday is when he starts his major benders." He said before putting the photo back on the wall and he circled his face with a red marker. "I have been able to sneak in a few times because he was so asleep, I could have blown up the building and he would not stir. But with the two of us we can easily slip him something non-lethal and make him take a nice long nap." He said trying to think of where he could get something like that.
