[OOC] Werelings (Signs Ups Are Open!)

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING!
The RP I would like to do is something I have been wanting try out for a long while now. I thought this idea up a few months back, stored it away and the last two weeks been working on the details for it. I think most of you would take an interest in it. Since it has to do with werewolves. Well not werewolves per say but the characters taking part in this RP will have the ability to turn into a typical looking wolf.

I am the the type of person who likes having a good amount of terms/facts/notes listed with explanations when creating an RP from stretch. And because this RP is completely from my own head please don't go borrowing it without talking to me first. Not even one little scrap of information! I'll be willing to allow people to use my ideas as long you ask me first!! I may or may not say no depending on how you go about asking.

More info will be added onto the main page when I get around to finishing up my notes. There will also be side characters that will be available to use throughout the RP. Also, most of this will be copied and pasted onto the main RP page. If anything I might just edit this page and turn into the actual RP, to save on time and forum space xD

I also prefer one on one role plays but I wouldn't mind a small group of three to four people, including myself. I am looking for people who are able to reply within a three day period. And can write roughly three or more paragraphs within each reply. I am choosing to play a male character, his name is Kale Lockwood. I have a head drawing I did of Kale, this way you can have a better idea on what he looks like. I am working on other drawings of him... though it's proving difficult. (P.S. I am still working on drawing human anatomy... humans aren't easy). Full profile is located below.

Some Rules:

1- Please use a few images describe you character, linking the images onto your character sheet. Such has hair color, style, facial features, eye color, what type of clothes that they wear etc. You don't need to have an image for everything just a few to give us a better picture what he or she looks like.
2- Your character's need to be in between the ages of 15-18 years. Since the RP is based around teenagers.
3- You are allowed to have at least one character to start out with. When I see that we are in need of new characters and you wanting a second I will allow you to have two. But first less start out with one.
4- Please use realistic coloring or features when describing your wolf form.
5- If you have any questions please PM me. This forum page is for sign ups only (turned later into main RP page probably as well). I will answer your question the best way I can and if more than one person asks me the same/similar questions I will post an explanation onto this page.
6- Again, I know I have mentioned this, please don't take anything that is posted here. Try asking me first and wait for my reply.
7- Lastly I will be accepting roughly three people to join the RP. If you don't get accepted I am sorry, there's a chance that if things don't go well I will reopen the signs up again. Also, I have plenty more RP's I would like to start so please be patient. I will PM those who will be accepted.

Unnaturally yellow, a rare type of hazel eye color. Eye color example!

In between light and medium brown, similar to a caramel coloring.
Hair Style:
Do to scaring on the right side of his head Kale's hair style is an interesting one. Where the scars are the hair is clipped down, revealing the claw marks stretching from the back side of his head to the edge of his forehead. On the left side of his head his hair is slightly longer, long enough to style a little but short enough to where it doesn't look weird.
Height and Weight:
Roughly 6'0" in height and weighs in around 190 lbs, mostly muscle.
Personality:
Kale is pretty level-headed, but just like anyone he can loose his cool. Kale also likes being around others, but he often seen keeping his distance. He's the type to observe first before engaging, depending on the situation at hand. Kale is an honest guy, though his honesty to some comes across rude and not necessary. He was around people (before living with his grandfather) who had always bent the truth for their own personal gain and saw how it effects everyone countless of times. Kale is quite protective over people he gets close to or those who are not capable of defending themselves. You often find him in a fist fight with the bullies at school or on the streets or even pushing someone out of the way of an oncoming car. Kale is a good listener so if you need to vent he'll sit there and listen to your complaints sometimes he will give his opinion but most of the time he'll just listen.
Personal Flaws:
Sensitive to smells, can't stand anything too sweet or too stinky. Such as sugary smelling candles, sweaty feet, subways, flowery perfume etc. Kale is often gets restless, prefers to keep active then sit around for too long.
Strong Points:
Kale is a good athlete, he loves to run but because of his habit of getting into fights the school refuses to allow him to join in any sports. Kale can also cook believe it or not. He also sews and patches up clothes, toys and among other things. He is also a hard worker since he has to help around his grandfather's small farm.
Human Appearance:
Kale is slender and quite fit, but not buff. A mature but also young looking face, he often gets commented by the girls on his looks. To prevent people from staring or asking too many questions about his scars, Kale is often seen wearing a beanie. The only time he doesn't wear one is when he around his grandfather or with close friends. Other than that he refuses to take it off. As for his clothes he wears pretty much anything from worn out farm clothes, but his does like to wear plaid shirts usually over a plain t-shirt, dark or light jeans and hiking/combat boots.
Outfit of choice.
Another prime example of his choice of an outfit.
Black boots vs. Worn out work boots. Kale likes wear both types, and often has one pair on with the other is in his bag just in case he needs to switch off.
Wolf Appearance:
When Kale turns into a wolf he has the same body built has his human self. Slender and strong looking. Do the clothes "disappearing" when shifting from human to wolf his scars become visible, his scars sit more on top of his head when in wolf form rather than onto the side in human form. His fur is a mixture of brown and tans. His eyes remain the same color. He appears more docile, mature in his wolf form.
Coloring and body/facial structure resembles this wolf's appearance.

Background Story:
When Kale was six he and his parents were out on a camping trip. On the third day a bear stumbled upon their campsite. Kale was clawed down first leaving him with a huge scar across his head, four claw marks. He doesn't remember what had happened after that. A week later he would up in a hospital, finding out a few days later that his parents were killed by the bear. Since then Kale grew wary and almost fearful of the sight of bears. It doesn't help that his school's mascot happens to be a Grizzly Bear.
Kale bounced around foster homes for six years until someone located a distance relative of his. His grandfather. A stubborn man but also kind if you look pass the stubbornness. Overall despite only living with each for only five years they get along great as long as the principle or the police don't give his grandfather a call. Then dear old grandpa makes him do farm chores all day long, plus house chores, plus a four hour lecture about being the better man. Unless it turns out the fight was from protecting others from bullies or crocks then his grandfather treats him to dinner in town.
Kale lives just on the outskirts of Meridian, Idaho. His high school is called the Rocky Mountain High School. Home to the Grizzlies.

When:
The RP takes place in autumn of 2017. School is two months in, depending where you are located.

Where:
You can choose from where you start, but it has to take place within the Untied States in any town or city you can use an existing town or city. Eventually the characters will end up at the same place.

The area we are taken to is called Cobalt Island. A mysterious and beautiful place, surrounded by dark blue oceans hence the name. The landscaping is similar to Yellowstone National Park. It is roughly the same size of Texas. It's not located on any map, only a certain handful of selected groups know of the whereabouts of the island despite it large size. Those selected few are a handful of government officials, military personal and scientists. Few of which call the island home. Eventually we will too... if escaping proves impossible.

The Weather on Cobalt Island

Spring:
Unpredictable. One minute it nice in sunny the next it is raining for days. Mornings and nights are usually chilly and foggy. In early spring there is still snow on the ground. spring usually lasts around three months.
Summer:
Warm at first but eventually it does get quite hot. Best to stick close to a water source and a well shaded area. On humid days it is possible that it might rain, but usually doesn't. Summer is also monsoon season so avoid the coast on windy, cloudy days. Summer lasts three months and half months.
Autumn:
Humid at the beginning, then things start to cool slowly. During the day it is still warm, at night and in the morning it is cool. It also rains off and on. Then towards the end of autumn it starts to snow. Autumn lasts three and half months.
Winter:
Despite it being highly cold it is often sunny. Blizzards are common but only last a few days. So it is wise to always be prepared with food, water and firewood. Winter doesn't last long on Cobalt island thankfully. Winter lasts only two months, but sometimes two months can feel as though last a lifetime.

How Come:
Do to a hidden gene within a some number of people if given a serum it triggers that gene to become active. Because of this those people are able to morph into a wolf. Either by free will or at unpredictable times.

This gene has been passed down to the next generation for centuries. It went unnoticed until it was discovered accidentally by a scientist who was studying human genetics when also studying a newly discovered disease that was effecting people in the year 1994. He thought that gene was the cause for the disease so he studied even further. And what he found lead to what is going to happen.

Who Should We Worry About:
Dr. Drake Palmer
He is rich, famous and is a hard person to get along with. Not just because he is rich but his personality is a bit unpredictable. It took him ten years of obsessed research and experimentation on humans who may or may not have the hidden trait. Even to this day there's still no diffident way of determining how to test for that exact gene yet. It is somehow linked to a certain protein that can only found in wolves. The only way to detect that gene at the moment is by a blood draw. The blood with a heightened protein count is a person of interest. But if only it were that easy... a lot of people who have poor diets or live off of protein shakes and health bars also have a high protein count.

So with a lot of patience and observing. Those who work for Dr. Drake are scattered about, they report their findings when they suspect someone of being a Wereling. When Dr. Drake takes an interest on a subject they are followed and watch for a course of a few days, a few weeks to even up to a year! All this without a person even knowing that they are being watched. Eventually when his interest dies off the Watchers then move onto the next target.

When he is utterly sure that the person is a Wereling a order is given out to remove the person and take them to a new location. In other words a new team is sent in to abduct the potential Wereling. Many people have been kidnapped by this group and its rare for any of them to return home alive. It all depends if they have the gene or not. Most don't live through the process.

Terms:

• Watchers:
  
  People who blend in and observe you without you knowing. They can be a neighbor, a teacher, a person who works at your favorite coffee shop and so on. Their only job is to watch and report nothing more.
• Werelings:
  
  People who are born with a special gene that allows them to turn into a wolf. But without the help of a serum that Dr. Drake has created to activate that gene go through life without knowing the possibilities. When shifting from human to wolf it a quick simple transformation, the first time it is quite painful but after that the pain lessens and goes unnoticed. When transforming from wolf to human it feels as though you are stretching. Also, when you turn from wolf to human you have your clothes on. Which might seem quite unusual but be thoughtful it weren't the other alternative.
  *When in wolf form we can communicate through thought not only among ourselves but with other animals as well. Sometimes we can communicate this way in our human forms too, either by accident or by hard concentration overtime it becomes easier*
• Cobalt Island:
  
  A hidden island out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Owned and ran by Dr. Drake Palmer. Other than him a handful of others know of its location. Terrain is similar to Yellowstone National Park's. Wildlife is also similar besides a few hybrids that Dr. Drake and his fellow scientists created to pass the time away but also to give the Werelings a challenge during their stay. The island becomes a permanent home for Werelings. Anyone else who stumbles onto the island are removed by force if that proves ineffective they too go missing.

Personality:
Esmee is a really sweet girl. She's bright, cheerful, and very kind, but she's also tough, and can be pretty dangerous. Esmee tends to be a bubbly girl, who talks all the time. The only time she stops talking, is when she's munching on something, or biting her nails, and trust me when I say she eats a lot. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. Forget any stereotype of girls eating only salads, or having small stomachs, because Esmee will break them all. Her stomach is a bottomless pit, just like any teenage boy out there. She eats! Esmee doesn't get angry easily, but when she is, don't think she's reckless. In fact, her angry state is her most dangerous state, because that's when she's actually thinking properly. Otherwise, you would think she's rather air-headed, and would be better suited as blonde. Esmee likes looking after others, and so will patch anyone up with what little medical skills she does have.

Personal Flaws:
She bites her nails when she's stressed, nervous or excited.

Strong Points:
She's agile, and very fast on her feet. She's a good endurance runner. She's a quick thinker, and can improvise easily. She has some medical skills required for survival.

Background Story:
Esmee grew up in Australia. She was born to a mother who is from the islands, but lives in Australia and a father who is English and South African. Her brother looks more like her mother, with the darker skin tone, whereas Esmee takes after her father, with the more pale skin tone. Esmee's childhood friend lives in the USA, so Esmee decided she wanted to go to school in the USA for a year or two, and so that is what she does. She lives with her childhood friend in Ohio.

Ayame I really like your character! She'll be a perfect comrade and friend while trapped on the island with the mad scientist and other... more scarier things roaming on the island.
