"Oh, um," Sebastian glanced around, as if looking for someone of higher authority to confer with. There was only Maya and Ethan. "Uh. Well, sure. I don't see why not, aside from it being dangerous. Can you handle yourself in the wilderness?" He cleared his throat. "Why did I ask that? Sorry." Hybrids were attuned to nature, so it went without saying that Maya was probably more than capable - not including the fact that she'd completed the first two years of training.

"Nah, it's fine. Also yes, I can." Maya glanced at Ethan, "Does uh, he always act like that?" She asked Sebastian quietly, pointing her thumb at him.

"Um," Sebastian wondered, turning to Ethan. "I'm not really sure. He was acting kinda weird the other day," the hybrid whispered. Walking over to him, Sebastian put a hand on Ethan's shoulder. He was still unresponsive, sitting there still as a statue. "Ethan?"

"Oh. Weird." Maya looked down at Daya, "Is your headache going away?" She asked quietly. Daya nodded, but didn't lift her head.

Sebastian wasn't certain what he should do. Both of his teammates seemed unwell. "Do you want some water, Daya?"

"No, I'm fine. I just need to put my head down, is all." She muttered. Maya was still rubbing her back. "Maybe I should come back tomorrow. I don't mind." Maya stood up from her chair. Daya shook her head slowly, "You can stay. Plus, that felt good, keep rubbing my back."

"Alright." Sebastian swished his tail, glancing between Daya, Maya, and Ethan. This was a very awkward position, since he was the leader of a team whose members seemed unwell and the only other person was someone he'd only met five minutes ago. "So..., Maya, how long have you known Daya? Where'd you meet? Are you best friends... or something?"

"We've known each other since we were.. like, seven, maybe? We met because our parents were friends, and yes, we're the bestest of friends." Maya smiled, putting her arm around Daya's shoulder.

Daya sat up, sighing. "Well, the headaches almost gone. Still hurts though." She muttered. "Maya, if you're hungry there's a place downstairs."

"Nah, I'll stay here and eat later." Maya paused, "Also, Sebastian, how old are you? You look a little young to be the leader of this team, or whatever you call it."

"I'm 17. Training took me three years, it's about standard. For a human." He gave Ethan a quick glance. "It's hard for us hybrids to make our way in the humans' world, and it pro'ly would have taken me longer if I wasn't able to pretend to be one."

To demonstrate, Sebastian folded his ears back. He tucked his tail into his shirt and wrapped it around his torso, then put on his jacket, hiding the fur on his arms. He looked a little heavier, but definitely more human. He did have a slightly wolfish face, but if you didn't know he was a hybrid, it wasn't too obvious.

"Damn, you're lucky. It'd be hard for me to do that, since I have these big ears, and fur."

"Try having your whole body covered in feathers, and gigantic eyes. Plus the butt feathers which you can't exactly hide that easily."

Sebastian relaxed, unwinding his tail and returning to his previous appearance. It was uncomfortable, looking like a human, and was glad that he didn't have to do it anymore. "I had to specifically change my outfit and hair to get it to work. Maybe if you did the same, Maya, you could do it, too," he offered. Daya, on the other hand....

"Maybe, but ehh. I should be proud of how I look, or what species that I am." Maya scratched the back of one of her ears.

Daya picked at one of the feathers on her arm boredly. "I think that's why it took me so long to finally join a team. It took me like.. what, seven years, maybe? Six? All because of these feathers and how I look." She muttered.

Sebastian's tail swished and he smiled brightly. "But you're here now! It doesn't matter how old you are or what you look like once you've made your trade, because now it's a true meritocracy!"

[PopeMaddi]

Daya sighed, looking down at her lap. "People'll still be assholes to us. Still happens to me, sometimes." She muttered.

"Once we become renowned Demon Hunters, people'll think twice 'bout treating us like crap! An' that's not just a fantasy; it actually can happen. If we regularly accept missions and keep up a good success rate, we're good to go."

[PopeMaddi]

"...Fine." She huffed. Maya's ear twitched, "Hey! I know what we could do! We could go down to the bar and see who can eat the most food. Like.. one of those food competitions, or whatever. I saw one of those a while ago."

"Oh, you guys are SO going down!" Sebastian licked his fangs and jumped out of his chair, then turned to Ethan. He still hadn't moved. "Uh...."

Maya got out of her chair, then managed to get Daya on her feet as well. By pushing her off the chair. "Alrighty! Sebastian, lead the way."

Daya smiled mischievously, "Man, you guys are so gonna lose. I can eat like... fifteen pounds of meat at a time. Good luck." Maya shook her head, but kept a smile on her face. "Nope, I'm gonna win! No one can stop my determination! Especially when it comes to food!"

"Alright, well," Sebastian placed a hand on the kid's shoulder. He figured this wasn't Ethan's sort of thing anyway. Besides, a human couldn't hope to stand against three hybrids. "We're going out. So, uh, we'll be back soon? I guess? Bye Ethan!"

He hurried down the stairs and out the lobby. "So, what sort of place are we looking for? I'd rather not eat an excess of raw meat, if you guys don' mind."

"Uh, there's a place around here, I think.. it mainly serves fish, is that okay?" Daya said, trying to think of places to eat. She didn't really go out to eat that often, and when she did, she only went to one place, most of the time.
