Mankind is no longer alone.

Though we have yet to encounter extraterrestrial life, the science of man has completed its crowning acheivement. They have been able to create artificial life in the form of androids, beings that talk, think, and look like we do.

Since their development, these androids have become more advanced, more sophisticated. Over time they have been integrated into human society. Now they are friends, family, co-workers and confidant. The creation of the Giftia by SAI Corp, the leading android producer, is functionally the capstone of android development to date in terms of human qualities that an android can possess.

But this comes at a cost. The lifespan of a Giftia is 81,920 hours. That is how long it takes for their memory banks to fill, and for their neural processes to begin breaking down. If this lifespan is passed, there is no way to stop a Giftia from falling into violent insanity. The only way to prevent this is to wipe their memories and reset them to a factory default setting, before they reach this point.

That is where Terminal Services come in. A branch of SAI Corp, their goal is to retrieve Giftia from their owners before that deadline is passed so they can have their memories wiped. This can be done in whatever manner the Service deems appropriate, with some branches choosing to prioritize customer satisfaction, while others choose to prioritize efficiency.

Employees of the Terminal Service work in pairs, with one Giftia partner and one human partner. This cooperation ensures that customer needs are easier to fulfill, and that any situations which may arise in the course of their jobs. Housing is provided by SAI Corp for all human and Giftia employees, as well as other benefits.

This, then, will be the stage as our story is told. Perhaps it be boring, or perhaps a bit more interesting. No one said this job would be easy after all, not when crime is still around and there has been more than one owner willing to hide their Giftia in the vain hope that the deadline does not apply to them.

Either way, it will sure be busy.

So that's the basic gist of the RP then. It is set in the universe of Plastic Memories, so expect some feels of one kind or another eventually. You play an employee at a branch of Terminal Services, interact with people, do your jobs, and there might be a bit of drama every once in a while. You can be either a human or a Giftia, and tentatively I might allow positions besides retrieval team stuff depending on what sort of crowd shows up to take part.
