Emilia Kirra

The Rockin' And Noisy Coffee Emporium (R.A.N.C.E) [District 2]

@Paradox Witch

“At the very least I could have finished my coffee…” Emilia said, hardly attached to the reality which she had found herself within.

It was an impossible circumstance. A “survival game” of sorts …. There was no way that her life could suddenly become the plot to some sort of shitty novel. She had read and watched media with similar traits to this sort of game in the past, but perhaps it seemed all too surreal for someone who believed their own logic infallible- uncorrupted and without the issue of wrongness rearing its ugly head.

But this sort of event could not be real in accordance to her internal laws.

No, according to anyone who was sane, this was inconceivable to reality by even the most perverse and rotted and deprived of minds. Even so, Emilia knew somewhere in her heart to believe the person who had given her the right to enter this game. Though she knew not the reasoning for her involvement, nor why she would be forced to fight against others with their existence on the line, according to the cosplaying woman, if she chose not to participate, she would cause the deaths of all participants.

The needs of the many triumph over the few, but in the event that all participants are to lose, it is better to choose an incorrect winner, no?

Dread and doubt filled her from her core, but she couldn’t show weakness in any sense of the word. .If she were to show herself as weak, she would be picked off and declared dead on the spot. Even if she had to kill others, the desire to stay alive was so pervasive through her mind and body that, in her mind, she began to make some sort of justification for the “taking of another life”, even if those outside of the circumstances she found herself within wouldn’t be privy to their loved one’s demise. She could bare the burden of so many others, a martyr to a crusade never once discussed.

... At this moment though, an “impossibly fantastical creature” had appeared outside the coffee shop in which Emilia took refuge. A creature far beyond the realm of reality, it became something fantastical, interacting through the world only via the reality provided by the cosplaying lady. The beast’s might was higher than anything that Emilia could comprehend. Perhaps if Emilia had access to something as cynical as the Military Industrial complex, there would not even be an ant to the mass produced death from such an institute, but Emilia was alone in this fight. A fight she felt was rubbish, but since others contempt against her lead to a situation where she would have to fight anyone who comes into contact with her, she would have to take up an option of “armed neutrality” rather than die to pacifism. After all, neutrality is how you get invaded both world wars.

A single word was uttered from Emilia’s mouth, just as her opponent had done.

“Yetzirah.”

The word itself didn’t have a lick of meaning to Emilia, but perhaps it could be said that the world itself was unlocked with the mere mention of the phrase. The world itself formed to the mention of the word, enveloping Emilia with it’s ever constant embrace.

Formed on her person were a set of boots and gloves; hardly anything glamorous, but perhaps it could be said that something special need not be so complex.

Faced with the ever-embrace of death coming towards her, the brave warrior of justice on a societal level stands before the enveloping flames, hardly deterred by the creature in front of her.

Like the Military Industrial Complex, all she would have to do is outdo the total destructive power of the creature. Stacked within herself, she visualized a “something” within her boots.

It at first did nothing, until the visualization of her ability took prominence in an explosion of energy emanating from her feet.

If the attack had come from the front of the establishment, then she would move herself out of the way of the blast and towards the glass windows on either side of the cafe, leading to the alleyway and towards her perceived safety, crashing through the window of such to avoid the dragon’s fire.

It had been almost ten minutes since she'd set out, and as of yet, Victoria hadn't seen even the slightest sign of another living being. The air was utterly still, silent, and calm, without so much as the chirping of a bird of the noise of a cricket to disturb the absolutely peaceful, lifeless world in which she now found herself. It was unusual... perhaps even unsettling. No distant voices, no dogs barking, no cars passing by or people coming and going... But most importantly, there was nobody shooting glares at her, no voices speaking her name in hushed tones and retreating just as quickly the moment she paid them heed. It was as if all of the unpleasant people who made her existence a living hell had been simply erased. Truly, this place was her utopia!

...No. Not all. Somewhere, there were still enemies waiting for her, endeavoring to trip her up and kill her at the slightest opening. She couldn't rest easy just yet, especially considering that, as of yet, she hadn't seen or heard anything that might indicate one of her enemies was nearby. And yet, for all she knew, someone might have been stalking her at that very moment, despite her efforts to conceal herself by darting through narrow alleys and avoiding wide open spaces, trying to make as little noise as possible so as not to draw attention. Every now and again, she shot a glance back over her shoulder, but saw nothing. Victoria had just been getting used to this reassurance that she was alone when it happened.

She was just crossing a local park when, from somewhere in the distance, she heard a roar and a loud crash. The ground shook, and a plume of smoke began rising up into the air a few blocks away. Immediately, she took off towards the source of this disturbance as fast as she could, but thought better of this decision a moment later. She turned to the left instead, and began circling a little way around the area as she approached. She couldn't just rush into a battle blindly. That blast earlier hadn't been exactly subtle, and she couldn't have been the only one who'd noticed it. More likely than not, anyone else looking for prey would begin to converge on this location, and if she just jumped into the fight without thinking, she'd probably just end up surrounded when fresh combatants arrived. She had to think tactically. While she was itching to try out her new powers, it would be best to wait until the perfect opportunity presented itself. In the mean time, though, she might as well watch and get a feel for what her enemies could do.

Picking up a skateboard that someone had left lying by a nearby bike rack and smashing through a large glass door, she slipped into an empty building which appeared to be some sort of science center for the local university. It was roughly a block away from the source of the explosion, but it was three stories tall. If she could just force her way up to the rooftop, she'd have an excellent vantage point from which to view the fight. And even if somebody found her and tried to attack, she'd have the high ground. It seemed like the best course of action, in any case, so, rushing through the darkened halls until she located the nearest stairwell, she sprinted upwards towards the roof...
