"Fuck."

His head was pounding violently, he'd returned to reality quickly and pushed himself up from his knees, looking up at the sky and letting the rain pour down onto his face. After shaking his head, he looked back down at the female with a menacing look. He didn't know what to say, or how to express what had just happened to him. A visible tension rose across his frame, but he started off towards the cabin, stopping a few feet ahead, and just barely looking over his shoulder

"Come, we must get out of here before anything else shows itself."

He wasted no time in getting inside, taking a towel off a rack on the wall and rubbing it through his longer hair. A sigh escaped him as he tossed the towel messily back onto the rack and paced across the room to get a drink. Still otherwise soaked, he took a long drink from a mug whilst his pants, boots and the rest of his torso were dripping with water. He almost didn't seem to care too much, but instead noticeably restrained himself from sitting on anything. He rest his left fist against the wall nearest the door, staring out the window for a moment, before finally speaking up to her.

"You're free from your ancestor-spirits. What will you do now is the question. My offer is still on the table, I have yet to come across any downside. Of course, you're free to reject. Such things are imaginable when offered such a difficult decision. At the very least, you're welcome to stay here until you decide to leave, if you so desire.

His tone, and entire demeanor was cold, straightforward and he did not make eye contact. Something was on his mind, something he wasn't easily going to show off after such a display that he was barely conscious of previously performing in front of her. Every so often, his calm breathing would be overruled by a huge sigh. This wasn't easy, nor was it over by a long shot.

The female nodded in response, teetering behind him as they made their way back to his home, eyeing him down carefully. Confusion couldn't pass, it felt like so much exploded at once to her. Regardless, she quietly stepped inside behind him, tapping her boots at the door before closing it. Listening carefully, the woman found a seat on the table.

"Well, I've thought about it. I'm not exactly sure what to do now, but I know I'm not calling this the end of my journey yet. I'll take
your offer though to stay here, give myself a few days to decide what I shall do."

She couldn't help but observe him, curious as could be. In her closed palms held a spell, a powder of arcane, empty of abilities.

What can get me a peek inside your troubled mind...

The mage thought to herself, staying silent as her eyes trailed down to the floor. Shaking her head, the dust disintegrated into thin air when his back was turned.

I shouldn't, as much as curiosity kills me. The time will come when it's right, it's not my place to force it out of him, and it would
seem to cause me more trouble than good.

She gritted her teeth in shame, her head in her hands. Clearing her throat, the girl hesitantly asked.

"Halvar, right? Say that I do take your offer of living as an immortal once more. Does it carry the same dread as my own did? Or have I
mistargeted your troubles?"

Chuckling softly, she added a second question as she stared around the room.

"As well as where will this one rest?"

His back was still turned to the female. He closed his eyes momentarily, seeming to cool off more from his agitated state slowly but surely. At first, he seemed to hesitate before answering her first questions. Whilst forming his response, he grunted.

"The bed is all yours. I don't sleep that often anyway."

He did not know what to answer her with, his own agony was caused mostly prior to his transformation. He just couldn't force himself to come to terms so easily. He knew all the dangers of playing with the fire of his own power. The thoughts were overburdening him, and even the mountain of a man that he was in no respects was stronger than his own mind. Yet, he tried to show very little of this in front of his guest. It wasn't her problem, no reason for her to be concerned. These things should be kept to himself. Although, in his bleak thoughts, his train of thought shifted into gear, finally answering her initial questions.

"Perhaps best left unanswered. I do not know if it's invoked my own memory, or if I simply need to take care of these things myself. What I do know though, if you are slain, you will be recreated in the skeletal form, and be able to wield your magical armaments. After so long, if you survive you will be able to reform into your mortal form. Of course, such a process could be expedited by.. Minions of the arts. But, I would doubt you have those, given that you even ask me these questions."

Another sigh broke from him, louder than the regular. He turned to her, staring down at the girl curiously. His piercing stare seemed to be looking right through her. Again, his eyes shut momentarily. In his mind, she was perhaps a much more naive woman than he expected. Although, he did not pass such a judgement so simply. He rarely favored anyone, and even then he typically met them through such a strange method as this. Now that he had such opportunity to recall such a thing, he was only more intrigued that she exists yet.

"For years I've roamed and been the same foreigner I would've slain in my days at home. I've returned there now and then. I knew one person to survive the carnage. I never stayed there myself. Too much on the mind, and the war was already won. The anger had nowhere to go. Perhaps the gruesome displays of those who oppose me are subject enough to the idea of what happens to anything on my bad side, anymore."

She listened carefully, curiously raising an eyebrow as she caught his stare. It's not easy to intimidate her or let her show it, a cocky grin proving such. Crossing her arms behind her head, she stretched her body before sliding off the table, her cloudy pupils finding his eyes.

"See something you like, or is there still blood on me?"

The girl teased, making her way to the bed, promptly sitting on the edge with one leg tucked under her, huffing as she collected her thoughts, straightening her back before speaking.

"But to be serious, I admit I don't know much beyond my own magic, at the same time I can learn. I suppose I can easily put it as I'm not ready to call this journey of mine to an end. I can already see the Hellish place I have in the afterlife. There's no honor for me to die
with, so I'll stay in the mortal realm as long as I can, now that I'm free from Daku's bond."

To be a show-off, the mage snapped her fingers, a glass-like shard of magic forming from thin air. The piece slowly floated down onto the table, glimmering in a velvet-crimson hue.

"You can touch it, it's just energy. If you were in my village long enough, then I'm sure you know about my bloodline's ability to manifest arcane to our will, and how we are made out of illusion magic. It may not be much compared to your ability, but it still has power, that is
if I'm not being a coward."

She twirled one of her dreads between her fingers, staring off to the side, disappointed in herself. Shaking her head, the girl quickly dismissed those thoughts, as she has always done. Perking up, the mage's grin returned as she formed two floating wolf heads from the same substance, sending them to rub up against the brute's face, as they still had the texture of fur. Eventually, the canines disappeared into smoke, she couldn't help but giggle.

"Hehe, sorry. It was for my own amusement."

He listened to her speak, with an all-encompassing look of bleakness on his face. It did not seem like he was entirely present for the duration of her speaking. With the sudden sensation of furs rubbing across his face, he snapped into reality with a slightly disturbed look about him. He shook his head quickly, dispelling his brief unawareness and wandering back into the room, to which he calmly plucked a sword from the corner of the room up into his hand.

"We're not alone. Keep your wits about you."

How he knew this was perhaps impossible for someone to comprehend. To him, it was instinct at this point. As the ruthless lawbreaker, monster, and dark conjurer that he was. It wasn't unusual someone would be sent after him for justice, a bounty, or some other excuse to have at his head. As he cautiously opened the door and stepped out, a dull twang ripped out from the trees, and the giant was stuck in the left side of the chest by an arrow. As the arrowhead dug into his flesh, he growled and brought his right hand to the arrow, ripping the entire piece from his body and tossing it on the ground. Enraged, he tore off into the brambles to combat whomever was firing. And without much effort, due to his immensely longer strides, a scream resounded from the forest. His blade had pierced directly through the assailants stomach, and the younger man was lifted into the air whilst still on the blade. The giant had closed his eyes briefly, kicking the man off of his sword.

"Is this the best they send after me now? Teenage apprentices with bows as sturdy as a toothpick?"

The giant had stepped on the bow. under his weight, a crack resounded from the wood. His heavy, angry breathing slowly calming as he watched this young man die from his injuries. Not even being merciful enough to end the lad's suffering.

The woman raised an eyebrow, easing off the bed as she watched him draw his weapon. Standing next to the door, she tried to pick up a scent as he gazed out, eyes widening as she heard flesh puncturing. Before she could say anything, heavy footsteps took off elsewhere, only assuming they were his. Fearing more danger awaits, the girl took off after him, transforming along the way. Her body glowed, her inner lycan forming around her as red crystals before its color solidifying into fur, sprinting on all fours once her legs shaped, powerful muscles assisting the wolf in catching up with the man. The canine carefully walked up behind him, examining the dying perpetrator.

"Hmph, well then. You know where they came from?"

She spoke to the giant through telepathy, standing on her hind legs as she pawed at the stranger's body before looking up at him. With her nose pointed toward the sky, she stayed wary for another's scent. Eventually, her ears perked up, an arrow whizzing towards her. A barrier quickly formed around the beast, the arrow snapping on contact. Catching onto the human's scent, she charged towards its direction, her quick speed allowing her to tackle him down before he could launch another arrow. Pinning down his arms and legs, the mage coiled vines of arcane around the assailant, keeping him bound to the ground. A shriek came before her howl, easing off the young man, simply standing nearby to let her accomplice make the choice of the attacker's fate, as he was the only one who could hear her.

"I'll let you do the talking or killing, maybe both. I wouldn't know how important it would be to you to see where this bastard and his
friend came from."

Her trap rose the man from the ground, cocooning his body except for his head and neck. He only grunted and squirmed, even biting at the vines near his mouth. One of the tendrils wrapped around the back of the man's head, the end splitting into four smaller ends to force him to look up. With fear in his voice, he screamed at the mage.

"You'll be sorry, you damn freak! Now release me or else!"
