The streets were calm as always. The calm mist slowly creeping over the fallen city, covering it as a thin layer. A bird made it's way across the city skyline, searching for any kind of food. And yet the bird was not the only hunter today. The walkers were wandering around aimlessly on the abandoned city streets, perhaps hoping for a quick meal. It had not taken long for the city to be conquered by the dead. A week or two, and then everyone was torn apart. Families mourning over the dead, only to die off a day later.

In the center of the city, Kaiden was rushing to cover inside a general store, hiding under the windows. He was out of breath and held his gun in his hand. He knew that if he pulled the trigger, it would unleash hell on him.

Carefully peaking out the window he decided that the walkers had lost him. "Close." he muttered to himself as he took his backpack and pulled out a can of baked beans. He opened it with his knife and ate his morning meal. The store was as so many others. Windows shattered, wares lying on the floor, at least what was left. He sighed as he packed up, carefully searching the store for anything he could use.

It was early. But the sun had made it's way to the sky. It was humid outside and along with the mist it gave an uneasy feeling for any living creature in the city. Most of the skyscrapers had remained unharmed, atleast it looked like it. Kaiden slowly made his way back to the window, scanning the streets for walkers or anything else.
"And so another day in hell begins." Kaiden whispered to himself.
