A sigh of distaste escaped the Miqo’te’s lips as her mate bought the horrifying-smelling herbs, then offered them to her. She stared flatly at him, then at the herbs, then back at him, ”Truly? If they don’t, I reserve the right to make your tea with this until we run out.” She rubbed her belly lightly, trying not to show the mild discomfort that Rhaq’a clearly had noticed. She caught the shopkeep’s eye, nodding. ”Very well, if it will help. I would appreciate it…”

She busied herself searching around the shop further. She was constantly amazed at the kindness that Rhaq’a showed towards her. Had someone told her five years before that she would willingly live with a male, or that she would deeply love one, she would have laughed and told them they were insane. But here she was. And here he was. And goodness, how glad she was to have him. She glanced over, seeing him doing much the same, looking through the herbs on offer. A small grin spread on her face, followed by a small blush as she quickly looked away, busying herself once again.

Rolling his eyes, the chirugeon responded, "No faith in me, hm?" After a few moments, he chuckled playfully before exchanging coin for herbs, and tucking them into his satchel.

After thoroughly searching, and not finding what he was seeking, he looked to his mat. "Any luck on your end?" Gesturing to his bag, he continued, "I appear to be done at this vendor. I can prepare your medicine at any time, you need only ask."

Having mostly struck out at this vendor, Rhy nodded, ”I suppose I am. There are a few interesting things here. I can always come back later, though.” She raised her voice slightly so that the shopkeep could clearly hear, Perhaps when the pricing gets a tad more reasonable, eh?” Getting a dirty look, she quickly made her way outside.

Breathing deep of the fresh air outside the shop, she stretched her arms high above her head, ”Ahhhhhhh… It’s gorgeous out here. Although even still, I wouldn’t say no to some relief.” She scanned around, looking to see if there were any tea shops around. Tea was, without a doubt, her greatest weakness. She nearly always had a kettle ready at home, and a steaming mug was usually next to her favorite reading chair. Rhaq’a knew he could mix any medication into tea and she would drink it. No matter how foul-smelling it was originally. And being in the Far East, she was intent on sampling as much as she could.

Ears flattening as his mate made a scene, he quickly made himself scarce, stopping only when he reached the street. Wilting, he let out a sigh before regaining his composure. Eyes on his mate, he offered a smile. "You have reservations at one of the inns, correct? We could come back tomorrow if you need rest. I would also be happy to shop in your stead if that would ease the burden on you..."

Pondering for a moment, he took a look around, "There very well may be somewhere to rest around here, as well. Some shops have a lounge within them, if you can handle the smoke."

The Miqo’te perked at the mention of her reservations; she had nearly forgotten! Remembering, she nodded, ”I do indeed! It’s at the main inn back in Kugane. It’s at…” She pulled out and consulted a small watch from her satchel, ”Well, in about two hours. Which gives us plenty of time to find a nice teahouse.”

She shook her head at the mention of smoke, ”So long as we could find one that’s not smokey. It always makes me cough something awful. And I was under the impression that I was trying to avoid being in pain?” She fluttered her eyelids. She was pretty sure he liked that. She wasn’t entirely sure, but it usually flustered him, and she found that amusing. She loved seeing him flustered. And if all went well, he’d be plenty flustered back at the inn. Their hot springs were famed for their privacy, after all.

“Two hours?” Pondering for a moment, he gave a nod, “Then we should have more than enough time.” Smiling at her mention of tea he started north, “Though I’m not familiar with this district, I’m sure there will be an abundance of tea houses. Choose one that appeals to you.”

She fluttered her eyelashes and he quickly averted his gaze. “I’m... sure we can find a location without smoke, then. Or we can sit outside, if necessary...”

Falling in line alongside Rhaq'a as he began moving, she nodded, "I should hope that there would be enough in a place so well-known for its tea. I'll be sure to tug you into one when I find one that calls out to me." She chuckled lightly at his reaction, "You're entirely too much fun to make uncomfortable, did you know that?"

She continued to smile as they walked, thoroughly enjoying the evening. Looking around, she drank in all the sights of Shirogane; she had rarely traveled to the Far East, choosing to focus much of her effort in Gyr Abania with the disruptions there. Coming here was always a treat. After several minutes of silent walking, she spied a tea shop near what looked to be a sizable trading outfit. She tugged Rhaq'a's arm towards it, settling down at a small table out front.

Letting out a groan, the man slumped, "Why do you take so much pleasure in my suffering?"

Accepting the tug of his mate, the man took a seat letting out a sigh. The place was certainly scenic, the sea visible from their location. Though not a waiter or waitress to be seen for the time being. Pondering for a moment he then spoke, "Would you like me to order something for you? I... believe we may need to order inside."

Squeezing his arm in her own in response to his question, she smiled over at the man of similar height, "Because you're cute when you're flustered!" She settled herself into one of the chairs with a small groan, looking out over the sea. As much as she loved the little stream behind her home in the Lavender Beds, it certainly couldn't hold a candle to this. She closed her eyes, leaning her head back over the chair top.

Still staring closed-eyed off into space, she nodded, "Your going inside sounds far preferable to my going inside. Tea, Shroud leaves, hot. Please and thank you." The woman buried her fingers in her loosely-braided hair, gently kneading at her scalp. Goodness, she hated how easily she tired recently. Tea would help; caffeine always helped after all.

Picking himself up, he let out a sigh, "Anything for you, dear," before disappearing inside of the teahouse.

Bringing the cups out to the sitting area, he placed the cups down before her, and himself. "They didn't have Shroud leaves, being this far from Eorzea. That said, they did have Doman Tea. It's made with persimmons and cinnamon. If you don't like it, I'll bring it back."

Sitting down with his own tea, he took a sip, smiling over at his mate. Though his eyes caught sight of a nearby establishment. "Oh, look over there. It looks to be some sort of trading outpost."

Hearing the voice of her mate drawing near, she straightened up, opening her eyes with a small sigh and scooting her glasses up her nose. She gratefully accepted the mug, giving it a sniff. It smelled quite a bit sweeter than what she normally liked, but hey, tea was tea. She smiled, taking a sip, catching her eyes with his.

She followed them to the building he was staring at; it certainly seemed to be quite trading post, and a fairly new one at that. Crates waiting to be unpacked could be seen poking out behind the building, bearing labels from all across Eorzea and the Far East. Her brows rose slightly as she drank, "It certainly does. Seems that they get stock from all over as well. Once we finish, shall we check it out?"

Smiling, he responded, "I think that would be a wonderful idea." Taking a sip, he let the liquid sit in his mouth for a moment before finally speaking, "What exactly are you looking for? Aside fro medical supplies, that is."

It was a dangerous question to be sure. For all he knew, she was search for a collar and some chains so he can't flee from her advances. The thought made him shudder.

Rhy tapped her chin with her fist thoughtfully, pondering the question. To give herself time, she took another sip. “Well… Aside from a steady supply of medicine for several towns along the frontlines with Garlemald, something fun. Maybe something that we could enjoy together; I’ve been looking all over for activities that we could do as a couple.”

She picked up her mug once more, her ice-blue eyes staring at him over the rim, thoughts swirling behind them. Rhaq’a’s own ideas were merely the tip of the iceberg.

Her response wasn't out of the blue, but still somewhat confusing. "Something to do together...?" He wasn't sure they sold anything like that. "Do you speak of some manner of boardgame? I heard Doman Majong is quite popular, and I'm certain they would have a set?"

He continued to drink for a minute or so before finishing, placing his cup down with a smile.

Rhy choked on her tea, sputtering for a moment, her hands waving around in front of her face as she choked, then burst out laughing. When she regained control of herself, she got up, walked over to Rhaq’a, and wrapped her arms around him. Resting her chin on his head, she shook her head, ”You sweet summer child.”

After petting him for a few moments, she returned to her seat, wiping up some of the spit-out tea from the table. ”I’m certain that we will find something to enjoy.” She smirked, her own tea finished. She waggled her brows in the direction of the shop, ”Shall we then?”

Her laugh made his heart sink, as did her words. If she were not pregnant, he would have fled, and fast. Instead he gulped. “E-Er... ah. Are you... certain you do not wish to learn mahjong? We could learn together...”

Gulping, he stood slowly. “Sure...?”

Taking his hand in her own, she started leading him towards the trading post. She chuckled, ”Perhaps we can start off with mahjong.” As they drew nearer to the post, she gave his hand a squeeze.

She looked around at the building. The closer they got, the more closed it looked. Her face fell slightly. She walked through the yard, looking at the scattered junk everywhere. ”Goodness, they do seem to have a little bit of everything here, don’t they?” She looked back at Rhaq’a, smiling sweetly.

A sigh of relief escaped his lips upon seeing the store was closed. He knew she'd want to come back, but he escaped, or rather delayed his fate for at least a day. "So it would seem..."

The junk they had was certainly interesting, and it was likely they had what he needed, too. "We could come back at a later time?"

Setting down the box she had been fondling, she nodded, ”Perhaps tomorrow it will be open. We will definitely be back!” She turned her gaze to her mate, ”For now, though, perhaps back to the inn? I’d like to lie down for a spell before our reservation.” She winked, ”I need to be in tip-top shape, after all.”

She strode back to him, patting his cheek gently. She then took his hand, intertwined their fingers, and shot him a smile.

Of course they'd be back. A small smile crossed his lips, "Y-Yes, of course." Slightly concerned he tried his best to ignore the situation. It was probably for the best, unfortunately. Looking up at his mate, he smiled, "Yes, you need rest. As do I..." The stress of whatever she was planning was getting to him, "R-Right, reservation..." And back to being terrified.

Smiling back at her, he took her hand happily. Though the pat on his cheek only indicated that his suspicions were correct.
